The Korea Drama Awards is a South Korean awards ceremony for excellence in local television. Ever since its inception in 2007, it has been held each October in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province. The eligibility period is September of the previous  year to October of the current year. Nominees are chosen from Korean dramas that aired on the three major broadcasting networks (KBS, MBC, and  SBS) and cable channels.

Kim Sang Joong Daesang Award 
(Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People)

Gil Dong is born as the son of servant Ah Mo Gae, in a society in which  servants have no legal standing. After years of horrible treatment by  the nobility, Gil Dong becomes the leader of a band of smugglers who  steals from the rich to give to the poor. Meanwhile, King Yeonsan slowly  becomesa tyrannical king who oppresses  the lives of the common people. Against all odds, can Gil Dong champion  the rights of the common people on his path to becoming Joseon’s first  revolutionary activist?

Actor Kim Sang Joong won the Grand Prize for his performance as Amogae (the nameless one) in MBC’s Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People.  During his acceptance speech, he dedicated his award to the drama’s team as he said, “This award is not just for me. I believe it is  an award that celebrates the cast and crew who I worked with as we  all took on the difficult challenge of a historical drama and did our  best for six months. I accept this award with a humble and grateful  heart.”

The Emperor: Owner of the Mask - In the 1700's, Crown Prince Lee Sun  fights against Pyunsoo hwe, an organization that has accumulated power  and wealth through privatizing water all over Joseon. He becomes a hope  for the people who suffer. Ga-Eun is the woman Crown Prince Lee Sun  loves and she helps him grow as a ruler.

Goblin- Kim Shin is a Goblin who is cursed with immortality and uses his powers to help others. He lives together with a Grim Reaper who has amnesia and  can't remember his past. To end his immortality, Shin must search for a  human bride who can pull out the sword in his chest and return him to  ashes. He meets Ji Eun Tak, a high school student who, despite her  painful reality, remains optimistic and  ends up falling in love with the Goblin.
