On the 16th, the rising star Lee Han Byeol, who made a strong impression on viewers worldwide with the Netflix series Mask Girl, cast among 1,000:1 competition, appeared on JTBC Newsroom. It was her first TV appearance since her debut.
During the interview, Lee Han Byeol confessed, "This is my first TV appearance. I don't have a TV at home, so I didn't think much about it. But today, coming to the studio and seeing the equipment and monitors, I suddenly feel nervous."
Regarding the competition ratio 1,000:1 that garnered attention, she stated, "I didn't think I would become a great person just because the number is big. I was chosen among those who seemed most suitable for the role during the casting process." She continued, "I had to do my part well. I didn't see it as a burden, even though it was a challenging character."
Lee Han Byeol also shared her experience of makeup that accentuated her features, including exaggerated eyebrows and dark circles. She mentioned, "I did makeup to highlight the features. At first, I thought it was okay, but when I did it, I enjoyed it. However, wearing the mask tightly on my face made it difficult to move and speak."
She also humorously revealed, "I've been asking to keep the mask made from my face as a personal possession, but I haven't received it yet. It means a lot to me, so I want it."
Finally, when asked how she would react if Ahn Jae Hong, her co-star in the drama, confessed "Aishiteru(I love you)" just like his character did in the series, she candidly responded, "It's important to know if the person has genuine feelings. But even so, having a public confession would still be challenging.
