Kim Eui Sung, Yoon Je Moon, and Han Jae Suk engage in a political battle in Check in Hanyang.
Check in Hanyang revolves around Yongcheonru, the largest guesthouse in Joseon, which operates under the motto "The guest is king," and it follows the young interns — Lee Eun Ho (Bae In Hyuk), Hong Deok Su (Kim Ji Eun), Chun Jun Hwa (Jung Gun Joo), and Go Soo Ra (Park Jae Chan) — who begin to work there for their own personal reasons.
The K-drama's latest teaser highlights the intense power struggle among those who make kings, known in today's times as "kingmakers".
The teaser begins with Crown Prince Lee Eun (Bae In Hyuk), sensing something unusual within the palace. It is followed by the angry voice of King Lee Hyeon Wi (Han Jae Suk), seated on the throne. He erupts in anger at someone, exclaiming, "How dare you claim to be a close friend of mine? Do you mock me and the royal family with mere gold bars?"
That someone is none other than the head of Yongcheonru, the largest guesthouse in Joseon, Tae Sang Bang Ju (Kim Eui Sung). Boldly wearing robes adorned with the royal dragon emblem, he appears in the king's private chamber and counters with a loaded statement: "Your Majesty, it is an honor beyond measure. Since Your Majesty freely uses the contents of my treasury as if they were Your Majesty's own, what else could I possibly be to you but a friend?"
The teaser continues with the caption, "At Yongcheonru, the guest is king, but they make the real king," as another kingmaker, Minister of War Oh Young Rak (Yoon Je Moon), makes his appearance.
His statement, "I cannot be at peace until my grandson sits on the throne," reveals his ambition to make his grandson the king.
The magnificent view of Yongcheonru, the place where all the secrets of power converge, dominates the screen. Watching this, Hong Deok Su (Kim Ji Eun) lets out an exclamation of astonishment, heightening anticipation for the drama that will unfold at Yongcheonru.
The production team of Check in Hanyang stated, "Our drama will not only explore the coming-of-age romance of youth but also delve into the intense power struggles of the Joseon era. It will captivate fans of historical dramas, particularly those intrigued by political conflicts and power battles."
They added, "The profound performances of skilled actors such as Kim Eui Sung, Yoon Je Moon, and Han Jae Suk will further enhance the drama's quality. So, please show a lot of interest and anticipation."
