Kim Nam Gil will reportedly star in his fourth upcoming K-drama.
According to media outlets on November 7, Kim Nam Gil has been offered to lead the upcoming K-drama Get Schooled.
Kim Nam Gil's agency Gilstory ENT responded to the casting reports. According to them, "Kim Nam Gil did receive the offer to lead Get Schooled and the actor is positively considering it." Nothing has been decided yet.
If Kim Nam Gil decides to lead Get Schooled, this will be his fourth upcoming K-drama. Tomorrow, the actor is returning as Kim Hae Il in the upcoming K-drama The Fiery Priest Season 2. He will reunite with Lee Ha Nee and Kim Sung Kyun in the SBS action comedy series.
Kim Nam Gil will also star in the 2025 K-drama Trigger. In the Netflix original K-drama, he will work with Kim Young Kwang, Woo Ji Hyun, and Gu Hyun.
The actor is also set to make a special cameo appearance in the upcoming series Knock Off led by Kim Soo Hyun, Jo Bo Ah, and Yoo Jae Myung.
Get Schooled will showcase how a member of a teachers' rights protection organization will go to great lengths to discipline students, inform parents about appropriate behavior, and protect teachers who are committed to teaching students the right way. The series is based on the webtoon of the same name, written by Chae Yong Taek and illustrated by Han Ga Ram.
Kim Nam Gil got the offer to portray the role of Na Hwa Jin. He is a field supervisor working for the Korea Teachers' Rights Protection Bureau.
The upcoming webtoon-based K-drama will be the next work of director Hong Jong Chan who is also known for creating the series Juvenile Justice, Life, and Dear My Friends. This will also possibly be his reunion with Kim Nam Gil. The two previously worked together in the K-drama Live Up to Your Name.
The webtoon became controversial due to accusations of racism, violence, and misogyny. These issues have resulted in prolonged suspensions and the ultimate termination of its North American service. Many are concerned as to how the story will be portrayed in the K-drama version.
There is no confirmation yet on where and when the K-drama will be released.
