EXID's Ahn Hee Yeon (Hani) will reportedly star in a new JTBC drama
Idol-actress Ahn Hee Yeon (Hani) will reportedly join hands with the director of "Clean With Passion For Now" and writer of "Misaeng: Incomplete Life" for the upcoming JTBC drama titled "Idol."
The new JTBC drama "Idol" will be the collaboration between director Noh Jong Chan ("Clean With Passion For Now", "Cruel Palace - War of Flowers," and "Personal Taste") and writer Jung Yoon Jung who's known for her works such as "The Bride of Habaek", "Misaeng: Incomplete Life," "Arang and the Magistrate," and more.
On April 1, Ahn Hee Yeon's representative from Sublime Artist Agency responded to the reports and stated that their artist is reviewing the casting offer for the new JTBC drama "Idol."
Many are anticipating if this drama will be Ahn Hee Yeon's next acting project.
Ahn Hee Yeon debuted as Hani in the K-pop girl group EXID in 2012. The group was not popular for years until Hani's fancam performing "Up & Down" went viral in 2014. Since then, Hani and other members of her group have been active in idol promotions such as music shows, variety programs, events, and more. In 2019, EXID's contract expired with Banana Culture and the members decided to sign on different agencies. Hani decided to sign under Sublime Artist Agency. She started promoting as an actress with her real name Ahn Hee Yeon. She debuted as an actress in 2020 through the web drama "XX."
Ahn Hee Yeon (Hani) has been on several acting projects such as "The Spies Who Loved Me", "How to be Thirty," "SF8: White Crow," and more. Her upcoming movie "Young Adult Matters" will also be released on May 15.
