Lee Hye Ri's agency takes legal action against malicious commenters
Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee face the struggles of youth in the upcoming Netflix series Melo Movie.
Melo Movie is about young people who want to dream, inspire, and overcome their traumas.
Character stills, featuring Go Gyeom (Choi Woo Sik), Kim Moo Bi (Park Bo Young), Hong Si Joon (Lee Jun Young), and Son Joo Ah (Jeon So Nee) are released.
In the first still, Go Gyeom is seen sitting in a room filled with movie posters and VHS tapes. He is an actor who transitions from playing minor roles to becoming a film critic.
Kim Moo Bi's story is also intriguing. She once hated movies because of her father, who loved movies, but ends up becoming a film director. Lee Jun Young plays Hong Si Jun, an unknown composer, and Jeon So Nee portrays Son Joo Ah, a screenwriter. She is a character grounded in reality, and, thereby, is expected to evoke empathy from the viewers.
Director Oh Choong Hwan commented, "We didn't just depict the beautiful moments of youth." This series is a more realistic portrayal of youth. "It deals with each character's deficiencies and traumas," he explained, and "that's why you will be able to relate to it as if it were your own story."
Writer Lee Na Eun added, "I wanted to depict the ambiguous stories of our youth, not the typical, common scenes that often come to mind when we think of 'youth.' It's a story that follows the perspectives and emotions of the characters naturally."
Melo Movie is set to premiere globally on February 14, exclusively on Netflix.
