A kiss:
- to touch or caress with the lips as an expression of affection, greeting, respect, or amorousness
I know I'm not a drama expert or anything, but we all have favorite dramas, characters, moments and kisses. As a person with huge experience with American TV shows, when I started watching Korean dramas, I didn't expect the problem with skinship and kisses. And it's maybe because many people in Western countries don't care that much about purity, so kisses and intimacy are a common thing.
The main problem in Korean dramas is that people don't want to see how the characters are kissing, the so-called "technique"; they want to see emotion. As a viewer, I want to feel something. I want those butterflies in my stomach moving. There are many good and famous kisses in dramas, like "Gu Family Book", "Kill Me, Heal Me", "You Who Came from the Stars", etc. But these are my favorite moments, or moments that made my heart beat fast:
1. "I love you and I mean it" kiss - It's Okay, That's Love
2. "I won't leave you, I'll heal you" kiss - Healer
3. Warm and cozy kiss - Oh My Venus
We got so many kisses in this drama and I can't choose just one, so here are the cutest ones.
4. The playful forehead kiss - That Winter, The Wind Blows
+ maybe this too:
5. The dimple air kiss - Oh My Venus
This is my favorite thing ever!
6. Forehead kiss - Pinocchio
It's not a real forehead kiss, but it's actually cute.
And here come the problematic kisses in Korean dramas, or the kisses I don't like.
"Oh, I'm so surprised that you kissed me even though we are dating each other" kiss - Heartstrings
"Let's just touch lips and freeze!" kiss - The Heirs
The accidental kiss or "Oh, catch me, I'm falling!" - You're Beautiful
It seems that Park Shin Hye's kisses in dramas are always bad. (Don't judge me, don't kill me!) But I'd like to thank Lee Jong Suk, because in Pinocchio we saw really good "real" kisses.
Do you have favorite kisses and kisses you don't like?
