A Stalker’s Guide to Song Joong Ki

He has been in the industry for many years now, but 2012 shot him to unimaginable heights as he became every girl’s heartthrob. At least mine!!
So here’s a stalker’s guide to one of the sexiest and cutest k-drama actor/singers, his journey from the earth to the sky and reasons as to why he is irresistible!! 
It all started as a participant in a game show called Quiz Korea. 
Did you spot him as the young soldier in the army in A Frozen Flower (2008) with No Min Woo. That was my Joong Ki.

Or the MC in Music Bank?
Did you notice the Young Butler who was thrown out in My Fair Lady or the sweet brother in Will it snow for Christmas? Or the murdered guy in The Case of Itaewon Homicide? Well, they were hardly roles worth noticing but after struggling with these small roles in various other dramas/movies he finally has hit the bull’s eye. I won’t go into his tiny roles but just the big ones.

WHEN DID I FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM?
The first time I saw him was in the trailer of The Innocent Man (2012) and I was like, “Omg! Have I really been watching K-dramas? How did I miss him?” and that was when the stalking began.  Before The Innocent Man actually aired, I had already delved into the depth of his history.

Here Joong Ki played Goo Yong Ha, an aristocratic playboy, and his cute and bubbly characters won millions of hearts. Despite the fact that he won the best couple award with Yoo Ah In, he still managed to make girls swoon all over him. The show itself is a must watch but even otherwise, I would suggest you should watch it because it is not everyday that you get to see a flower boy in a hanbok!

A movie about a playboy who falls in love with a frugal money-saver, and how together they pinch every single penny that comes their way. Joong Ki flaunted his charming smile and cheeky humor. And there’s a time when he sobs, which makes you smile even wider.


He was one of the original contestants on the show but he dropped the show in 2011. Yet he managed to leave a mark and even received the New Star award for it. He stunned you with his wits, broke you into titters with his dance and also made you shed buckets when his cute face contorted into a frown. The best thing about him was that he never said “no” and confidently faced every challenge.

Here he played the rash and wounded male lead who was torn by love and drowned in vengeance. Well that is how I would define Kang Maru. This role redefined both his career and his image. All the while seen as a peppy and bubbly flower boy, Joong Ki transformed his image with this role as he put on the shoes of a reckless man seeking revenge. His character was dark but also had a soft edge to it. Though he never dropped the tough exterior, you sympathized with his darkness too. And as the show progressed he made you fall on your knees and break into tears. I fell in love with Kang Maru the moment I first saw him and even today the character still shines bright in my memory.

This movie broke all records by crossing the 4.12 million mark and becoming the most successful melodrama of all times. Song Joong Ki played the role of a distraught teenage wolf boy who falls in love with a girl who is the only person who does not treat him as a beast. Their love may not be fated to a happy ending but yet they struggle to fight all odds. This movie is a must watch as both Park Bo Young and Song Joong Ki displayed excellent acting skills. I totally loved Joong Ki’s childlike innocence in contrast to his beastly character.

This is all about the man of my dreams. The year 2012 has been his year as he outshone all his contenders with two supreme hits and rose from a supporting actor to the most talked about star in the industry. He was also crowned as the actor most girls would like to go on a date with for the year 2012. But was that even a question? Who wouldn’t?
