Jin Yong Wu Xia Shi Jie (2024)

First both are on wuxia
Second both are historical
Third both dramas are on martial arts
Forth both heroes are silly
Fifth there are little romance

This is the 2008 adaption of the same novel starring Hu Ge as Guo Jing, Ariel Lin as Huang Rong, Liu ShiShi as Mu Nianci and Yuang Hong as Yang Kang. Although it doesn't have a sequel, it is a good stand alone adaption that does well to tie all character's story plots in the story.

This is the 2003 adaption of the same novel from Jin Young's Legend of the Condor Hero. Done during the early 2000's, this version shows a strong performance from Zhou Xun as Huang Rong. This adaption follows the novel faithfully. Is the prequel to the Return of the Condor Hero's 2005 and Heaven Sword Dragon Sabre 2009 of the condor triology.

This is the 1994 TVB Hong Kong Version of the same novel by Jin yong. Although older and less production vaule, it still classics, and one of the versions most people in the 90's grew up. This was made during the Hong Kong 90's era where alot of classics came from Hong Kong film productions.

The 1983 version. Also done by Hong Kong. This version is the most memorable to people who grew up familiar with the novel. Barbra Young and Felix Wong play Huang Rong and Guo Jing. Their chemistry and dynamic is what set the tone for the future adaptions.

Yuan Zhong is a fox high priest. He is an immortal who possesses the divine hand. With it, he defeated the ghost clan and brought an era of prosperity. Jin Tan Yin is an artisan goddess who makes magical artifacts. She descended to earth to kill Yuan Zhong and get back the divine hand of the god Tang Hua. Yuan Zhong is harassed by his own fox clan and Jin Tan Yin decides to help and protect him. The two of them will have to face personal enemies, and a secret will be discovered. Yuan Zhong rescues Jin Tan Yin from a trap. Reunited again, the pair of lovers join forces to defeat their enemies and restore order in the world.

Similarities:

Both dramas are filled with action and adventure. Both are also set in historical setting with wuxia and martial arts elements.

I do not understand why The Legend of the Condor Heros was not recommended und till now. Both series are based on the same Novel and the 2017 version is ( in my humble opinion) far supperior to the 2024 version, allthough I understood the 2024 series with all it's seasons will be conducting the story of all three novels of the condor series and the 2017 version was only conducting the story of the first book of the trilogy.
