It's a noona romance masterpiece!

The Good:
- The noona dynamics
- It has a truly beautiful romantic story.
- It has an outstanding cast.
- It has a bucketload of wholesomeness.
- It has great boss characters.
- The great sismances
- It has short, but impactful flashbacks.
- I did not feel the 29 episodes being too stretched out.
- Best parents!
- The love triangles are relatively weak.

The Neutral:
-The show is a bit silly, no one will mistake this for reality :-)
-The 7 year age gap is over-dramatized.

The Bad:
-The forced semi breakup after a kiss that lasted for 3 episodes(those episodes were pretty bad 11-12-13)
-The plot involving the evil sponsor woman made very little sense.

Hidden Gem

This is a very well-rounded show where all the essential elements of creating a drama: the script, the cast, the editing, the music, all work together harmoniously to create a fun story that is very grounded in real life but yet keeps it wholesome. In truth, the very premise itself is already dramatic enough: the girl is 7 years older than the guy. That's it. That's all the drama anyone can handle, and so this show doesn't try to create more artificial conflict. All the characters are thoughtfully written, and even the side characters are essential to the main storyline. I generally dislike the habit Cdramas tend to have of having secondary characters and romances that generally have absolutely nothing to do with the main couple, but in this show, every side character has a role that is integral to the main plot, and so their fate and how they entwine together are therefore very relevant. The comedic timing in this show is on point; not only do characters deliver their punchlines impeccably, but the director knows exactly which angles, which shots, and which background music will deliver the jokes to the greatest effect. I was crying from laughter throughout many episodes and sometimes couldn't even sleep because I was giggling too much over a particular gag. Flashback scenes are hilarious and also tie into the present timeline's themes, with childhood quirks setting up jokes later in the episode, and even later in the series. Most of all, this show is very self-aware; the characters point things out almost as soon as I think them in my head, including things that someone didn't do but should have done, and what this typically signifies. A lot of usual stereotypes get turned on their heads; many characters that would normally be antagonists in other stories are thoughtful allies in this one; comic relief characters are essential heroes that display appropriate gravitas and dignity when the situation warrants, and even the one flat antagonist that I believe other reviewers have referred to has the interesting symbolic role of representing the often superficial public opinion, so her lack of depth is actually appropriate for what she is meant to portray. This show is made of top quality ingredients that are cooked together in a way that both complement and elevate all the individual components, leading to a truly enjoyable experience. I couldn't put the series down and ended up finishing this show two days. An absolute must watch!

Beautiful and Real

I liked this drama a lot! My expectations weren't that high, I thought it was just going to be another noona romance (which I like but are done a lot) but this drama surprised me. The writers took the time to build a good relationship between the main leads and develop a cute and interesting backstory for them. The problems in the characters and in their relationship are discussed and fixed maturely. Sometimes noona dramas have the flaw of making the male lead too childish/immature but this one found the perfect balance. The side characters were also very interesting, sometimes I dislike added side character scenes because they feel irrelevant to the plot but in this drama, I never skipped them. The writers and cast were able to make me care about them as well. The length is perfect as it does not drag out which makes it great for rewatching! I highly recommend this drama if you like character-driven plots and realistic couple dynamics.

AMAZING! Great chemistry wonderful story!

I am so sad that this drama has ended. As I was watching My Fated Boy, all I could think of is how great the acting was, how beautiful the plot was, and how this drama is an amazing high budget production. He Yi (male lead) portrayed An An so well as if that is how he really is in every day life. Not to mention the always beautiful and skilled actress Sierra Li (female lead). The age gap wasn’t crazy and the plot wasn’t cliché. There was not one moment in this drama where I got bored and had to skip through it. I cried, I laughed, I blushed, and I yearned for this wonderful beautiful love story.

Worthwhile

I just cant believe in my self that i were going to skip this amazing drama........
the stunning work of Sierra Li.


After starting this drama i found how cute the couple is.....Aqually it took my interest while i read the synopsis............... Only reason that was basically i read a novel about same plot several years ago in my own language which was so popular until today..........
Now i find same genre of story turned into a drama............i got thrilled by that & not going to miss this Drama for sure....lastly Love is never binded by Age or anything...its just happen....

Must Watch

This drama seems to be underrated. The story was really good with genre of a romance and a bit of comedy. Not
your typical drama with leads having on and off relationship. Or a villian which tries to separate the couple. The drama also shows the good relationship between family. I love how the family members support their love ones but not tolerating their wrong doings and giving the right advise needed. The 29 episodes are worth watching for, there were no dull moments. This is the only drama that every episodes are worth watching. No skipping or fast forward because every episode haa a story you need to really watch in connection with the next one. Though the story is about the love of a 24-year old man to a 31-year old woman, you could still feel the sparks and chemistry between the main leads.

Fluffy and smiles all around!

I'll definitely be re-watching this in the future. It was absolutely fluffy and cute - my heart kept fluttering during those romantic scenes.

Lin Yang isn't a naïve, stubborn young woman like most dramas like to depict their FMC/FL as. She knows how to stand up for herself. One of my favourite FLs now! <3
The ML, Lu Zheng An is such golden retriever energy! His smile is literally contagious. When he smiled, I found myself smiling...

This drama is very unrated and honestly, it is everything you want in a rom-com drama. There are love triangles but honestly, I didn't mind them because I never found myself shipping FL with anyone else, and Li Tian, the epitome of young puppy love turned "stalker???" Her behavior was very stalkerish, as she's young... about Lu Zheng An's age. The good thing is that Lu Zheng An is direct about who he loves and draws the line with her. I loved that scene. So many MLs are so... misleading - they don't have boundaries with girls and when it comes to the one they like, they're like "Oh, why are you mad?" or "It's none of your business!"

Those tropes and clichés are dead in My Fated Boy. Watch this and fall in love (or cry about your love life? LOL).

Cute and flouffy drama

Omg this drama is such a Masterpiece This drama doesn't have breakups and cringe scenes dragged love triangles This drama described friendship and family beautifully I loved the bond between ml and fl families The flashback of the couple in every starting of each epi will make u laugh The friendship between the fl and her friends was amazing u will be blessed if u get these kind of friends the ost were simply superb The bosses are just so cute they will be supportive of their relationship and there is no plot like in other idol dramas that u shld not love wen u re a celebrity I do t know y this drama has such a low views U guys will definitely regret if u miss this amazing master piece

Surprisingly great noona romance

This was so much better than I expected it to be! It’s a classic noona romance - not a particularly original story, but very well-executed and avoids the most annoying tropes associated with the genre. There are no prolonged miscommunications, no noble idiocy, no silly breakups. Once the couple is together, they are in it for real, and conflict is navigated with maturity and healthy communication. There is also great female friendship plot, the workplaces are full of kind and well-intentioned people, there is a lovely side romance, and even the second leads are better than usual. The second ML was mildly annoying, but the second FL was very sympathetic and actually had a great redemption arc.

One note on first few episodes - if you are struggling with the FL or worrying about an imbalanced relationship dynamic when the show starts, know that is by design. We begin our story while the FL is in the midst of a self-destructive depressive episode, and the way she treats the ML at first is directly related to that. As soon as she begins to feel better, it becomes clear their affection for each other is quite mutual, and the path opens for her to begin seeing him in a new (adult) light.

Overall I just really enjoyed this more than I expected to, and I wasn’t tempted to fast forward through anything, which is rare for me! Even the original music was good, which is sometimes not the case for plots that involve idols. My only beef is that the best song is for someone reason not included on the OST and it’s pretty inaccessible.
