Refreshing, simple and cute
From the moment I started watching the first episode, I knew this would be another one of those BLs with the little scenes worth repeating over and over again. Though the storyline is nothing new, I absolutely loved the polar-opposite characters of Jae Young and Sang Woo - seeing their interactions made me laugh, smile and die every single time.Definitely a step-up from the previous Korean BLs I've seen, probably even surpassing To My Star in my opinion. It doesn't help that Jae Young is so charismatic in all areas, and Sang Woo is adorable even when he tries to act mad or grumpy. Just the perfect dose of cuteness and fangirling moments that every BL watcher could hope for.
If you're still reading this, don't know why you're still here - go watch it now!

Love on the Spectrum
I have a huge soft spot for this series. Maybe it's because I'm an autistic adult but it makes me squee that Jaeyoung respects that Sangwoo doesn't like to be touched unexpectedly and warns that he's about to kiss.Sangwoo is absolutely coded autistic. He needs routine to thrive, has a strong sense of justice, sensory issues, can fixate on one thing, etc. It's a relatively stereotypical autistic depiction, and yet it's not stereotypical to the point of getting it wrong.
Sangwoo is thrown by Jaeyoung but also adapts. He has fixed views, but is more flexible than he allows himself to be. He grows over the story and yet is still himself.
Jaeyoung was a complete dick to start with, but he realised he was a complete dick and tries to reverse this.
Jaeyoung and Sangwoo seem like an odd couple, but that's true of many real life couples. Perhaps I'm being too biased because I love this series, but it feels believable that they would grow close despite their differences. They complement each other.
Sangwoo's confession to Jaeyoung ("You're like an error. Bad personality and have no sense of time. You're also capricious and irrational.") is the sweetest and most romantic moment in any BL I've watched.
This gets 10/10 overall and especially for the three most standout scenes:
The drunk kiss
Sangwoo's confession
The end post credit scene
The post credit scene is the most realistic depiction of two people in a relationship. They are comfortable in each other's presence. Jaeyoung just leans against Sangwoo as the latter works. They're supportive of each other, even with disagreements. They sense each other ("We won't finish today if you keep looking at me like that.") The scene shows what a real non toxic relationship should feel like.
Semantic Error is my comfort watch series.

Overall I absolutely enjoyed it and though there are some parts of the manhwa I wish they had added like the detail that Jaeyeong is in fact bi and not just some straight dude and also that he has a twin it was still a great watch and I totally plan on
rewatching it again.

Korean BL is a gift that keeps on giving.
Even though it is a cliched enemy-lover story but we all know how exciting those kinds of storylines are and Semantic Error reaffirmed that with its delivery. Having a bisexual lead fall in love with a robotic and stuck up maybe-straight man was thrilling and the visuals of both actors was enchanting. I was stuck on it and I have rewatched it, you should see it. The kisses were not the 'chu' kind, you can feel the chemistry and the passionate atmosphere between the leads. No toxic person here just two smart and handsome boys in love and selfless about it with an interesting support cast as well. Go ahead and binge, you won't regret it!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
One Of The Best Korean BL Drama In 2022! Wish It Was Longer
I finally completed watching this Drama I started watching when it first aired in Mid February 2022,I did not have alot of time to watch alot of Dramas at the begenning of the year so I put this on hold and I am
so glad I finished watching it. This Drama is so freaking cute and wish there were longer episodes.
I feel that the writer was testing the waters with the style as it was more cautious with not over loading too much romance.
This drama is watchable for anyone into BL drama, it's also recommendable for first time BL fans.
The two MLs are opposite of each other, one is a fun and happy cheerful and handsome Designer while the othe
is a serious bossy type but cute and over thinks everything that he think the other lead is ERROR! ERROR!!
But the only error was not having more episodes, it was the right amount of everything. Sometimes watching these
clean romantic shows are just the ingredients we need to laugh a little.
My ratings at the beginning was 8/10 and after finishing I gave it a full 10/10
because the only Semantic ERROR was not making more and longer episodes.

a must-watch for all BL lovers <3
Everything about this series is perfect! The simple story line, the cast, the OST, every moment watching this is bliss! The butterflies were real and every shot were perfection. It really drags you into that moment and that is a definite must for a BL series. I'm definitely hoping for a season 2 but until then, I will surely re-watch this series for the nth time. Kudos to everyone who made this BL soooo exceptional and I also hope that Korean BL series will have longer episodes such as Thai BLs. Nonetheless, I still love them both!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Stop this was so cute!
This was an adorable, bite-size drama.Story: This was a fun watch. Cool concept and overall entertaining. I did want more from this, I felt like it ended right when it got good. I wish we had an epilogue episode or something.
Acting/Casting: Perfect. I loved everyone! They all played their parts well and I could really feel the chemistry between the main characters!
Music/Visual: This part was well executed. I loved the special effects in each episode. They were such a nice touch!
Re-watch value: I can definitely see myself coming back to watch this one day!

Work of ART!
First of all...i want to take a moment of silence for the people that didn't discover this gem yet! ?I keep coming back to it for the Nth time, and each time i discover new things I haven't seen before and enjoy it even more than the last time. i have no idea how it is possible. Seriously, this one is THE Korean BL genre work of art. I mean, "To my star" will always have a special place in my heart, ngl... But this one is right there, a small step higher on the ladder. And i wish so badly for a second season, but I swear "To my star" makes me fear it though :)) Everyone in this drama created such a great environment, everyone had their place and purpose, no one gave the filler feeling or anything like that. The chemistry of the characters was beautiful... Not only the MLs but everyone. So yeah... I doubt there's gonna be other drama to surpass this one. Chef's kiss??

I dont even enjoy kdramas that much....

10/10
This BL is a masterpiece, Seoham and Jaechan are incredible actors and did a terrific job in this drama. I watched this with no breaks in between. In my opinion there was not a single flaw in this drama. The chemistry between the two is out of this world.I’d recommend this drama to anyone no matter what. I hope in the future I can see Seoham & Jaechan in more series together. I’m not too sure but I think there will be a S2 of semantic error once Seoham finishes his military service.
In all, this was definitely worth the watch.

The most beautiful error.
I haven't rewatched a series this many times. For a start, I hated the synopsis and I almost didn't watch this series because it was boring and sounded just like any other BL, but once I started I couldn't stop. It was the cinematography, the build up of emotions, pretty ambient lightings and 100% the actors' chemistry and sync with the characters. (Also the ADLIBS OMG)
After finishing the series, I loved it so much I read the manhwa and I preferred the drama for many reasons, one of them being Jaeyoung in the series was portrayed to be much softer, it's like the personality of Park Seo Ham seeped through.
I also loved the balanced relationship the male leads hold, Sang woo wasn't a lad in distress, he didn't need Jaeyoung to always make the first move. Characters showed personality and growth development, Flow and pace of each scene and episode was just right. Every detail in the series made sense and the adaptation is well thought out.

(Mostly) Accurate Adaptation with Satisfying Characters:
Watching Semantic Error After Reading It.This is my 2nd BL Drama, and 1st Korean Drama, but I’ve been reading BL for 8 years now. I don’t know if my perception of the show is heavily influenced by the fact that I read the source material first, but I feel like I managed to keep an unbiased perspective.
1 TECHIE NITPICK:
The one non story related element that bugged me was the high frame-rate of a lot of the shots. That’s what causes movement to look weird and sharp, like cheaply produced daytime soap operas. If every shot was like that I might not have been able to watch, but it was only obvious in outdoor shots, super wide shots, and tracking shots on a dolly or jib. Sometimes I swear the frame rate was lower in shots because they felt more cinematic, but it might have just been there was little movement or low lighting. The fact that it wasn’t constant was a relief, but it took me out of the show every time I noticed it. Perhaps this is simply the style in all K Dramas that I'll have to get used to.
THE SHOW:
Honestly, story-wise and acting-wise, the first 7 episodes were true quality. I’d even say almost perfect in execution as far as the building tension between our lead characters. Both actors' attitudes felt like the characters had walked out of the pages of the webtoon. The OST also really leant itself to Jaeyoung’s characterization which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Obviously an 8 episode story can’t exactly follow its source material when it’s already 50+ chapters long without an ending in sight. But it picked and chose combinations of elements that made the show feel natural on its own without losing the essence of everything from the original. It felt like an honest adaptation, in the first 7 episodes.
I thought I might only take issue with episode 8 because of its divergence from the original, but that’s not the real problem. The problem is the source of conflict episode 8 relied on. After 7 episodes of character driven conflict, the final episode relied on plot driven conflict which felt out of place, like an interruption to the series.
***
VAGUE SLIGHT FINALE SPOILERS:
All the conflict in the original Semantic Error relies on character driven elements that come from within our protagonists, and that remains true in episodes 1 through 7. But in episode 8, the invitation and the conflict it caused is the opposite of character driven. The fact that they used plot to control the characters’ decisions for the first time is what felt off and foreign to me. It didn’t flow with the story or the characters.
It’s a shame that the writers could not craft a finale that suited the rest of the series, but considering the webtoon Semantic Error is one of the best ongoing BL out there, that’s a tall order. The ending fell flat but everything until then was extremely good.
