Sweet xianxia with seven beautiful interconnected lives

The drama tells the love story between the God of War and a Fairy and their seven lives together. Due to accidentally entangling each other with a love thread, the main leads are tasked to go through seven love tribulations together in order to repair the male lead's primordial spirit. But with each passing tribulation, secrets of the past begin to surface and a long forgotten truth is finally revealed.

POSITIVE:
- The story has tons and I mean TONS of parallels in between all lives and tribulations that the main leads experience. Everything is woven together to perfection. All the characters have meaningful roles in each tribulation, all little details like a simple hairpin are connected through all tribulations and this is very, very difficult to do so I'm absolutely blown away how it was all put together. And there are NO plot holes.
- I was sceptical at first as seven lives seemed like it might get repetitive and boring but there are not the typical 3 lives xianxia style. All lives are connected but at the same time move the plot forward in a very clever way. Each life is very different, with different settings and length of episodes. Some of the lives only FL remembers her present self, others only ML, and we also have lives where they both remember so it gives a unique experience in each one.
- I absolutely loved, loved, loved ML performance in the drama. He really brought all of his characters to life, when he was happy, I was happy, when he was in pain, I was in pain, when he was crying, I was crying. Even when I felt the script was lacking in certain scenes his brilliant performance really moved me and made up for it. I've only seen his other drama with Lusi and I have to say he has now become one of my favourite actors.
- Beautiful costumes and settings (they are done by the same production team as LBFAD).
- Secondary couple has an interesting plot twist so it's quite unique to watch.
- Happy ending for everyone (well except the bad guys lol).

NEGATIVE:
- Doesn't have that addictive factor where you totally obsess over the drama. Like there was something missing, perhaps the lack of emotional impact I was looking for.
- FL acting is very lacking. I rarely discuss acting but unfortunately this one was very obviously bad in comparison to the brilliant job that the ML actor did. I felt the FL actress was specifically bad in delivering scenes where she was supposed to be scared, distressed and in extreme pain. She was making all the facial expressions, I could see the tears but somehow there was no real emotion behind it especially compared to the ML.
- It has a slow start and the 2nd tribulation (the first human one) is the longest one so it feels very dragged out.
- The ending is quite.. well boring. Lots of unnecessary talks and excessive weird effects (almost like they ran out of budget). Without spoiling it, I feel there is a very interesting plot line relating to the tribulations that's very unique and would have made an epic final however it was brushed off and instead we were given a very typical xianxia ending.
- SML has a very typical "I'm obsessively in love with the FL" syndrome at the beginning but he gets very much redeemed in my eyes. He does get a lot of screen time and very much feels like a main character so that might be positive or negative depending how much you like his character. In general the actor did a great job and I didn't mind his scenes however in certain episodes he got more screen time than the male lead which I didn't like.
- Editing feels choppy and weird at times.
- Effects and CGI in the last episodes are a bit weird.

OVERALL:
The drama is a sweet xianxia with beautiful interconnecting themes and parallels, lots of interesting characters and some character's growth. The main focus is the love story between the leads so it's a nice comfort drama to watch. Great rewatch value because of the mystery and all parallels.

Ryan Ding was the best part of the drama, Screenwriter's love of Incel Stalkers--terrible.

I figured someone may want a more balanced review that isn't, "This is all crap" and "this is the best ever" First I have to establish that I go mostly by talent of the actors/crew. I don't really do the whole mooning over actors thing. Not my jam. I don't automatically upvote a drama because the actor is "hot" or whatever. I go by how the drama is or isn't. I go by if the art is good or bad.

For those of you that are planning on reading the book, read the book second and watch the drama first. The drama first is OK and regular and kind of middle of the road. The book is excellent, though lacking in details, so you should be helped by doing it in this order. I should warn that the second half of the drama is nothing like the book.

For comparison, this drama is better than Longest Promise which had some of the worst writing I've witnessed in a drama. This drama, though suffers mostly from an unconfident writer who isn't sure how to do anything from the book.

If you are going to watch the drama, you're likely watching fro Ding Yuxi and the production values.

The best lifetimes are in order (for the drama):
The animal lifetime (Hilarious and voiced very well)
The Demon lifetime (mostly for Ryan Ding living the role--and changing his mannerisms in every single way playing it).
The Sect lifetime Almost 1 for 1, but then went off the rails a bit towards the end.
The flashback couple lifetime (Cang hai)
Prime Minister's daughter
Princess/General This was cut in half from the original, so didn't have the gravitas, but I understand they had to cut it likely because of censorship.

The character I hated the most was Xiu Ming. I hated his ending too, especially since he's split off from the original character who was a stalker in the book. He literally stalked the female main character across lifetimes. *Stop redeeming stalker characters~~* And yes, I can fight you on this. When someone is trying to "rescue" you without your consent, and follow after you for *lifetimes* then yeah, that's called stalking.

I mostly skipped (10 second skip) through the whole banished clan thing--it didn't belong in the drama and I lost about nothing. The acting wasn't that great to begin with. And I didn't care that much about the Zihui storyline at all, which felt disjointed from the rest of the drama anyway.

In order the best parts of the drama:
1. Ding Yuxi

-hands down the best part of the drama. The director let him do *mostly* what he wanted, though there were a few times I felt like he was limited by the director. *ahh* Ding Yuxi playing mischievous is something I really like because it's in his wheelhouse--but the director cut him off? I said this consistently since the beginning. If you want to watch the drama only for him, it's not a bad pick.

2. Production values: These are the costumes, music, CGI. The CGI was the best in Heavenly realm. I'm guessing the writer had to set more things in the heavenly realm to save on costs. I'm not against that. (Costs more to rent a space than build a set sometimes) That said, I wouldn't have minded if they saved on production costs and gotten better actors. The production team went all out. The only person that probably should have paid attention more is the sound guy. He missed a few sounds he should have put in. I feel like they couldn't pay all the actors all the way through due to the production values being high.

3. Red Thread Master and Yang Chaoyue

Contrary to popular belief, Yang Chaoyue was better in the second half of the drama. I thought she wasn't that good at the beginning, but she grew into the character more. Slight downgrade for the whining bits, but I think that's more down to writing and directing choices, than personal choices. I also, really liked the choices of the Red Thread Master, which surprised me. The dynamic between the two acors felt more natural. She definitely picked up a few things during the course of the drama and became less stiff and emotionless. It's not top of the line such that Yang Chaoyue was pushing Ryan Ding, but it wasn't terrible either. If you want to see actresses that pushed Ryan Ding, then there is Romance of the Tiger and Rose. And I'd also say Moonlight with Esther Yu--who also pushed him quite a bit. While she wasn't terrible ^^ I still would have chosen a top line actress and sacrificed some of the production values like the 3D printing of crowns to try to get a better actress as lead. Guan Xiao Tong would have been my natural pick since she can play the range.

4. Director. Some of the blocking was off, particularly on Ryan Ding--I don't blame Ryan Ding for this--that's on the director's head to run through the scene and let the actors play it out a few times. And a few directing choices I disliked entirely, though these are minor.

5. The writing. The writing was meh for me--I mean if you take it separate from the book it's running 3-4. It's really, really creepy that the screenwriter wants *so hard* to redeem incel stalkers this much. I mean, WTF. Trying so hard to redeem incel stalker from the book, and then try to redeem them in the drama, but no one wants that. What I felt from the screenwriter throughout was that they were constrained a bit by budget, but also they lacked confidence to make the bolder decisions. For that reason the drama feels like a fanficiton version of the book rather than an improvement. This isn't to slam fan fiction, BTW, but to say, it feels more copying cookie cutter. And BTW, I'm not one of those, the book is always better. I go wherever the story is best.

6. The Nepotism adds

Occasionally, in order to make a production, the financing asks that you add characters--there were quite a few and a few characters that should never been downgraded were downgraded for the drama. Usually in regular production, adding characters means more budget. The only exception is nepotism adds where there is a contingency. This is why I think a few of the actors who were added, but not in the book were solely added for budget reasons, not storyline reasons. Zihui should not have been split into Xiu Ming and Zihui. This by far, weighed down the drama and you didn't get the tighter plotting that the book had. The whole of the Muluo tribe--Uhhgghhh no. OK, the demon bit was good. But still.

BTW, I still want to yeet Xiu Ming off this drama.

BTW, I'd so watch a movie version that actually followed the novel more 1 for 1.

A love that connects through 7 life times and an honest ML, I love!!

After Back from the Brink, it has been a while since I got hooked into another Xianxia genre (drama). LY7T doesn't disappoint with their love story.

One of the many aspects I love about this drama, is that everything is connected back into a full circle and I love those parallels that was cleverly used throughout the drama and none of them felt disconnected; so that was cleverly done by the writers in this drama.

To be honest, I am not into Mortal Tribulations in Xianxia genre, since I always find them draggy, and every time it happens in the story (of other Xianxia dramas), I always want it to end quicker so we can return back to the Immortal life, and focus on that instead, but LY7T has done it in a way that I don't dislike it, because each (well, maybe aside from the beginning arc of the 2nd tribulation, with the whole political stuff), I actually enjoyed it on my end.

To introduce the ML of this story, acted by Ding Yuxi (DYX), which this is my first time seeing him act in a drama, so I have no previous drama to compare him with, but he has played his role well in bringing out the character to life, whether, it's the Chu Kong from the present time, the Chu Kong of the past, and his each/every Mortal Tribulation identities, I did enjoyed all of them. I have to make a note and mention that DYX at times does kinda remind me to this Hong Kong actor Roger Kwok. Not saying that as a negative, just want to make a point about this on my end; because they look similar to me. DYX does look handsome to me though! I am glad to know he dubbed his own voice in this drama! Anyways, back to the Male Lead he portrayed: Chu Kong, being the God of War, who did not have the memories of what happened 30,000 years ago, was due to a reason, I will not spoil in my review, but you will find out when his past is uncovered; and it all makes sense in the end, of what happened 30,000 years ago. I really do love his character, whether it is the him as the God of War in the present time, or the him 30,000 years ago (before he became the God of War) he's a loveable character in my eyes, and I actually love his honesty, when it comes to the FL, it is always a positive/plus point in my eyes!

Moving onto the FL, Xiang Yun/Cang Hai played by Yang Chao Yue (YCY). This isn't my first time seeing her, since I've seen her in the Journey of Congzi in the past. Comparing to her portrayal between the two drama's, to me, she definitely has improved in this drama LY7T. So I really don't understand the hate some Cnetz / or International viewers have on her, aside from the fact of spreading hate/nonsense that doesn't make sense to me. My favourite portrayal of her character is Cang Hai. I love how bold and direct she is when it comes to what she wants, and she can be a little bit shameless too haha, but I don't mind, since it just makes her character even more refreshing to see this side to her.

This pairing is definitely among my top favourite for sure, because I really love their chemistry whether its onscreen or off-screen. I love how Chu Kong(ML) is honest with XiangYun (FL) during those times, is a bit different to other xianxia ML, because in LY7T, I really love how Chu Kong(ML) is honest with Xiang Yun(FL), whereas in other Xianxia dramas the ML might hid the truth from the FL to protect her of the danger, which may lead to unnecessary misunderstanding afterwards, so that was really loveable to see a different type of ML where he's honest with the FL like that in the Xianxia verse.

I love how in each life-time, throughout the drama, you can pick out these parallels and compare it which lead to a beautiful result. I love how Chu Kong (ML) opened up to her and became attached to her as the story progresses, because I really see that as a development in his character! I especially love the backstory depicted in the drama, when their past is revealed. Their past is among my favorite focus, although it didn't end up well :( I do also love the Master and Disciple Relationship during the SL sect times, because I love the trio JL and ZH(in their mortal life), they were some nice times/memories with some funny moments as well!

I hope DYX and YCY will have another Modern Day drama in the future like DYX want; because they really do have chemistry, and I enjoy watching them on my end!

For drama side of things, it is really compelling, and fun to watch, because it is like you are going through a journey with the characters, where there are hints that lead to a piece of puzzle that you can put together to form the answer to the story, and it is intriguing enough for us to want to guess what's going to happen next. It may start off a bit slow for some people at the beginning, especially during the 2nd mortal tribulation, but take it from someone (me) who is not into Mortal Tribulation in Xianxia dramas, for me LY7T did it in a way that is not boring, and I enjoyed it on my end! At times it really doesn't feel like they are doing a Mortal Tribulation, but it feels like they are just taking a trip to the Mortal realm.

For ending side of things, it's a Happy Ending. Sure it is not the satisfying kind of happy ending, but it is without a doubt that CK came back, and the fact that he was emotional in that scene hint(revealed) that he does remember her. I love the way he wiped her tears on his end!!!

I somehow like that they take this as a form of Mortal Tribulation where XY enter into the mortal gate (like how they normally do the mortal tribulation, because this way I can actually take it that after that 7th "Mortal tribulation" is done, CK can regain his immortality and they both can return to heavens and I like that the other characters were revealing that it is possible for CK to return to heavens one day.

The first hint was CK celestial star that XY saw that flew by the sky showing CK has returned and she went to find him again, although that took a lot of detour with the other side character scenes... I actually fast forward some of them especially the red thread master, immortal sun and XM Scenes...

Overall I was happy with the ending, since it did put a smile to my face when I saw CK again. Do I want more than what I was given? Yes!!! but it is without a doubt CK has returned and he have his memories on his end, I just wish he would have said something to her like what I heard him said in the trailer: "Regardless of now, or 30,000 years ago. I'm destined to find you" (so I hate IQIYI for deleting that) but with the way they look at each other, it really said it all. I strongly believe that after that scene CK will be able to regain his immortal status and be the God of War again. Who knows maybe he will takeover and the heavenly emperor since XM did said that he is temporarily taking that role as Heavenly emperor on his end and he's looking forward to one day XY can return with CK on his end.

It was a nice open ending for Jin Luo and ZH(reincarnated) though.

But overall, I just want to say, that this drama is definitely recommended, because it is really good! If you don't watch it, you will surely miss out on this drama! I have read a little bit of the novel on my end, but in terms of characterization and the deep complexities of the story/plot, I prefer the drama better.

Music in this drama is excellent!! I love a few actually!! My favourite, I will have to say is the Opening theme: 唯爱 (Only Love) - Faye詹雯婷, but I also really love the other OST's in this drama as well, such as: 哀情记 (Grief Record) - A Lin and 破空 (Break Through) - 李常超 (Li Changchao). I also love the bgm(midi) that was played in the drama during those specific times (but don't know the name of that song, if I know I will definitely download it and listen to it on my end).

P.S: thank you LY7T, you officially made my journey enjoyable and I therefore have put you on my top 5 rankings:

Top 5 favourite Xianxia Chinese Drama
1. Back from the Brink (Hu Xin)
2. Love you Seven times
3. Ancient Love Poetry
4. Love and Redemption
5. Ten Miles Peach Blossom (3L3W)

The reasons to see for 7 times, love you seven times

Love you seven times is really a beautiful drama that you need to see, especially if you like deep stories, with a lot of fun, and a little touch of anguish, I highly recommend to watch this cdrama especially for the newest in the world of xianxia cdrama

If you are tired of seeing so much cliché, well, love you seven times basically takes it to another level since they handle the cliche very well and give another twist to the established clichés, really for me, it was a tremendous joy

Something that is not talked about much and I think I should highlight it in letters even in italics is this: FL and ML here make such a healthy couple, I mean, their relationship is really healthy, tender and beautiful, it's rare to see this in cdrama, normally the couple only matures at the end of the series, but in love you seven times it is different, from the first moment they have a healthy relationship and that is beautifully divine to see ?

In terms of visual effects and scenery, it was a delight to the eye, I feel that it was the best cgi I've seen because visually it looks beautiful, especially the scenes in the celestial kingdom

As for costumes and makeup, it's really beautiful to see their costumes, I think they put so much love into those costumes, I really love it! And of course, seeing Ding Yuxi in blue costumes is just beautiful ?

Now, the cast and performances, I really don't have a single complaint, they are all really amazing, it's good to bring in lesser-known faces, let new little talents have their time to shine ✨ The cast shows a good dynamic and relationship, which makes for a very nice work environment to watch, the cast is led by Miss Chaoyue, in love you seven times, she shows a really great acting progress, and I must also say that this It's her first leading role where I see her really immersed in her character, I really like her acting, I feel that they should give her more roles as FL in this drama, she needs to improve a little in emotional scenes, but she has improved a lot actually, well by Miss Chaoyue!
On the other hand, Ding Yuxi is really cool, and gorgeous in this drama, oh my red thread! I really enjoyed his role as Chu Kong, this is the first drama I've seen of him and it's really to be a fan of him, his acting is simply beautiful, his eyes can convey all kinds of emotions ?, the secondary characters and those of support also has its moment to shine which I love, and some even include more comedy to the story which is refreshing.

As for ost and bgm, it's the best I've heard, it gives the drama more emotions which is very important, 10/10, without a doubt the opening song sung by faye will be remembered for this drama!

In conclusion:

I highly recommend this drama if you are new to the world of xianxia cdrama and also for those who, like me, want to see something refreshing, new and fluffy content most of the time, it is possible that at least in the first episodes some feel it very slow and cliché or heavy, however this arc is important so that they understand the whole story behind

I don't recommend this drama to people who can't let go of their prejudices, either because of Miss Chaoyue or because of story cliches, or who really think that love you seven times is a mature or dark plot because That's definitely not what it's about in the drama, the drama has received a lot of hate mainly due to these two things, too bad, because they shouldn't be so hard on this beautiful drama.

Oh of course, most importantly, it has HE, in fact most of the characters have he, and the main couple too, so breathe easy and look safe, maybe it was a very short HE but at least unlike many others dramas, here there is an explicit happy ending, so be encouraged to discover the love of the protagonists for 7 lifes~

With that being said, thanks for reading this review!

Love You Seven Times Is Not a Cliche Costume Drama

The special effects in the drama are truly astounding, enveloping the audience in an atmosphere so realistic that it feels as though they are part of the scene. This technological marvel not only enhances the visual experience but also elevates the emotional connection to the storyline. It's worth taking a moment to appreciate the exquisite and well-crafted costumes that adorn the characters. Each piece has been carefully designed to suit the environment and occasion, contributing to the authenticity of the setting.

The meticulous attention to detail extends even further into the visual spectacle. Colors, textures, and materials have all been chosen to reflect the theme and mood of the film, creating a harmonious and visually pleasing experience.

What sets the drama apart even more are the unexpected and unconventional plot twists. The inclusion of animation adds an extra layer of creativity, allowing for a more dynamic and versatile storytelling technique. This novel approach not only brings freshness to the narrative but also appeals to a broader audience. The integration of animation has been a breakthrough in the drama, capturing the attention of not just fans of traditional cinema but also those interested in more experimental and avant-garde techniques.

The drama's success in weaving together these various elements—special effects, costumes, and innovative storytelling—creates a unique and captivating experience. It pushes the boundaries of conventional cinema, offering something new and unexpected to audiences, who have responded with enthusiasm and interest. This combination of craftsmanship and creativity ensures that the film stands out as a remarkable achievement in contemporary filmmaking.

Also, in this drama, we can see huge improvement of Yang Chaoyue's acting skills. Her acting career began to take shape after her success in the music industry. Opinions on her acting skills might vary among critics and audiences. Some may praise her natural presence and charisma on screen, while others might have critiques or see room for growth.

Since acting is a craft that often evolves with experience and specific roles, opinions about an actor's abilities can change over time and with different performances. As with many young and emerging talents, Yang Chaoyue's acting skills might continue to develop as she takes on more roles and gains further experience in the industry.

The cast of the drama, led by Yang Chaoyue, works together in a seamless synergy, their performances enhanced by the well-thought-out dialogue and direction. The director's vision is evident throughout, guiding the actors and the audience through a maze of emotions, suspense, and revelations. The musical score, too, plays a vital role in the drama's effectiveness, with its subtle crescendos and soothing melodies perfectly complementing the unfolding plot.

Another notable aspect of the drama is its cinematography, capturing breathtaking landscapes and intricate close-ups that draw the viewer into the world the creators have shaped. Whether it's a panoramic shot of a cityscape or a delicate glance between two characters, every frame is handled with artistry and intent.

The drama also explores various themes and motifs, some deeply rooted in cultural nuances, others more universal in nature. These thematic explorations add depth and layers to the narrative, allowing for richer interpretations and connections with the audience.

Moreover, the supporting cast deserves recognition for their commitment to their roles, creating believable and relatable characters that resonate with the viewers. They provide a strong backdrop against which the main plot unfolds, adding complexity and dimension to the story.

In terms of production design, the drama is set apart by its attention to historical or contextual accuracy, depending on its genre. Whether it's a period piece or a modern tale, the props, sets, and locations are chosen with an eye for authenticity, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

The combination of strong writing, skillful direction, committed performances, stunning visuals, and thoughtful design culminate in a drama that is more than mere entertainment. It becomes a work of art that stimulates thought, triggers emotions, and leaves a lasting impression on those who engage with it.

In conclusion, the drama is a testament to the collaborative effort of a talented team of writers, actors, directors, and designers. Each aspect, including the remarkable improvement in Yang Chaoyue's acting skills, comes together to craft an unforgettable experience that transcends conventional storytelling. It's a celebration of creativity, innovation, and artistry that continues to resonate with audiences long after the credits roll, setting a new standard in contemporary drama production.

fall in love every time meet you

As the male and female protagonists continue to interact, their hearts gradually bridge the gap between them. This gradual progression towards emotional intimacy is a testament to the depth of their connection. It's this very journey that enables them to truly understand and immerse themselves in each other's worlds. As they overcome obstacles and challenges together, their affection grows stronger, and they find solace in one another's presence.

Ultimately, the culmination of their shared experiences leads to a pivotal moment: their decision to marry. Their journey from strangers to soulmates, marked by twists and turns, laughter and tears, culminates in a celebration of their commitment to one another. Their union is not just a union of two individuals, but a merging of their dreams, hopes, and aspirations.

I watched this to just see silver-haired Demon Yuxi and it gave me more to like and appreciate.

Pretty simple plot. As they described it, the ML and FL are supposed to go through a love tribulation for several lifetimes. I was honestly not expecting much as the main reason I am watching this series is because I wanted to see the silver haired demon Yuxi. Lo and behold they let him out towards the last few episode so I had to sit through the whole thing. After silver hair Yuxi was gone, I honestly just finished the last episode coz, why not? I sat through 37 episodes, 1 more will not make much of a difference to me. So why the higher rating? Coz I am not picky and the drama gave me more to appreciate than just the silver haired demon Yuxi. And did I say they gave me silver haired demon Ding Yuxi? (yeah by now you should be able to tell I love love love love that character - the whole make up and costume and attitude works!!!)

What do I like about it other than demon Yuxi? As I said, the plot line is fairly simple. I do not see much character development as we are speeding through several lifetimes, and that is ok. If they wasted episodes on developing each character it would make the series longer and might get boring coz really, we do not need to invest too much on the "side characters" the ML and FL are playing. What I appreciated was they kept the basic personality of the ML and FL in each reincarnation. Enough to make you realize that the love tribulation character are still them - same attitude, same take, likes, just different clothes. I was honestly more invested in the love story of Jin Lou and Zihui. I wish they extended their last scene to show how Jin Lou introduced herself to the Zihui reincarnation instead of just leaving it with her running after him after hearing about his dream girl. Also, I love Jin Lou's violet dress. Lu Yu Xiao surprised me when her character started as the bad guy but i liked her character as her story unfolded. Jin Lian I appreciated both as the Molou Clan Protector and as Qian Ren. I am saddened by Immortal Li's passing . I could tell they were about to kill his character but it was fun while he was around. The small bickering interaction he has with Xiangyun made me smile. I laugh whenever I see Red Thread Master as I was coming off from watching him in another drama where he played a womanizer dad... I appreciate his love for Xiangyun though. The emperor guy, I don't know if I will pity his character or what. I mean really, the root of all the evil doings he masterminded was his jealousy. Even after Chu Kong explained to him that he was not interested in leading the clan and just want to be with Cang Hai, he plotted against his brother. Then compounded it with lies on top of a big lie on top of a bigger lie, you get the picture? So I guess, he got his karma? Xui Ming, I am guessing he got healthier after assuming the throne. I take his character as one of those who is not decided if he is good, neutral or evil. Its like, it depends on which side of the bed he woke up in. Confused. I kinda wanted to know what the Red Thread Master and Immortal Sun planned for the extra-strong thread/match they set him up in. Immortal Sun was one of the side characters who surprised me. I thought he was just one of those side characters the writer will kill off somewhere when the plot needs killing but he ended up doing something helpful to the side of the good guys that helped expose the sins of the Heavenly Emperor. I only liked 2 sound tracks. Well the other one is not really a sound track but a consistent background music they use when the ML and FL meet on their love tribulation (you know that one where a womans voice goes aaaaaaaaaa - I'm not a lyricist, can you tell? - with the drums?) so technically I like just 1 song- Only Love.

Let's not discuss what I do not like about the drama, that would entail how I would like them to rewrite the drama as and that is another story. Oh, what I can say as I don't like would be how they put silver hair demon Yuxi at almost the end of the story. He is just one of the ML side characters in their love tribulation but I wanted him to get more air time. I honestly thought they would make him a white nine tail fox, I was not expecting him to be a cat demon. But it works as the bed scene where he was rubbing himself on Xiangyun would not have worked and would not be as funny if they made him a fox.

Now, would I watch it again or recommend it? Now, if you are the type that wants to think deep, puzzle things out or into heavy character development, or intense story line, this is not the drama I would recommend you to watch. I would say if you are looking for a drama to watch to pass time, something that will not make you think too deeply, something to just laugh at or you just want awesome costumes, or if you also want to see the silver haired demon Ding Yuxi like I did, then you can give this a go. The CGI is fantastic, the costume design is amazing! There was more fight scenes that I was expecting which surprised me and I certainly appreciate it. Did I say the costumes where amazing? The costumes were amazing, especially Chu Kong's and Xiangyun's costume in the Demon Realm. So, have fun and happy watching!

Love the umbrellas (at least ) 7 times

This is one of those dramas that is just impossible to rate, the story is ok predictable at times, interesting at times, meeh at times...

It has pretty much everything and more but I feel like it would be enough for them to love each other twice or maybe three times but seven just feels like pushing it... that said the umbrellas in this drama are top, the less predictable twists (few as they may be) are really good to.

The leads are both lovely, taking turns with being smart, and less smart, bickerish push and pull and incorparating most of the tropes of dramaland, they did after all have to fall in love seven times + there where a bunch of side characters that also had to fall in love.

The main villain is as selfish and evil as it gets, the other villains have interesting character development and seem to have a bunch of dimensions. And again the umbrellas in this come in different colors, used for a bunch of different stuff and show up in the most amazing slow mo settings.

An okay watch... But could have been better if it had less episodes and if they focused on the loving instead of the quontaty of times.

Also I love the pig, tiger and cat! Those are lovely too!

Love it!!!!

"Love You Seven Times" introduces a fresh perspective into the realm of oriental fantasy - the mythical paradise of vibrant clouds. Each iteration presents a distinct persona and narrative. At the conclusion of every cycle, the protagonists return to the celestial realm with shared experiences and memories. They then continue along the main axis, elevating their relationship in the subsequent iteration. This continuous stream of both tender and challenging scenarios not only offers novelty but also demands adept portrayal. Thankfully, the two main actors adeptly embody their roles. Xiang Yun's character exudes a blend of softness, cuteness, and eccentricity, prompting many fans to describe her as "if a cloud were to become a fairy, she would likely resemble this."

Loving you through endless loops ..... destined to find you

It is the 2nd xianxia I completed, easy to watch not much agnst , aesthetic
Actually I loved the first episode, proud Chu Kong aa pig Kong was funniest
and playful fairy xiangyun was afraid of him ...
The first story and 2nd life actually build their bonding , the shifu arc was the funniest....I didn't expect much from this drama
but from Cang Hai arc 30000 years ago, the past will reveal that everything is connected even the animal arc where Chu Kong wanted to remove her memory, I actually re watched the previous episodes again ....it really build high hopes for this drama but the ending is not satisfactory.........don't worry it's a last minute happy ending but feels like the loop of rebirth isn't ending for them
I initially thought they will give a grand wedding to Cang Hai and Chu Kong....as it was disturbed by the villain ....

2)the story is pretty good and there is no plot holes
3) as for acting nothing to say about Ding Yuxi I actually watched this for him , first time watching the FL she is good but a little lack in the emotion of pain and sadness
4)go for it,,, it's really a refreshing drama ?

Thoroughly enjoyed watching it

I won't lie from the drama's name I thought ah this will be a ride of sorrows and tears. It actually indeed was but it was lighter than I thought and I'm glad it was because my fragile heart wouldn't have been able to handle it otherwise. I wanted to give it a 10 but the ending was literally very predictable and kinda annoying and I hated it. I think it became some sort of stereotype to do this type of ending this year so yeah. My Other complaint would be that the drama was a little too short!? I wished to watch more. I also awaited for a better show of ending battle. It felt a little rushed at the end I didn't get to enjoy watching my demon cat ?! BRING HIM BACKKK!

Could've been better

Love seven times, is about two people falling in love in 7 lifetimes...due to this I expected for their love story to be a grand/great love story. I feel like the only time they were able to showcase this was during their 2nd tribulation where Xiangyun ended up dying by an arrow, another time was also when they showed how Chukong and Cang hai fell in love 30,000 years ago.

Not that the actors acting was bad or anything, I just feel that they lack the type of director who can push them to do more. I can also sense that the actor who played Haoxun (the evil older brother/ruler) was confused with his character. Overall, they lack proper direction, and that they had an opportunity to make this story really unique that they could've really own, instead it was water-downed with the lack of passion coming from the director and seemed to have just used the common formula of a typical xianxia/wuxia story.

What I like about it was the aesthetic, the production settings, the costumes, and the vfx were all top-notch even a bit better than Love between fairy and devil.

The chemistry between Ding Yuxi and Yang Chao Yue were there but then again as I said before I just feel like they were left with what ever and the director wasn't as proactive and giving direction nor were the actors to have more freedom to do what they will with how they can make the characters be played out better.
