Homme Fatale (2019)

Both are made by Nam Dae Joong - screenwriter and director, both have a unique sense of humor, in both playes Kim Dong Young, both have a bittersweet taste.

Both are historical Korean dramas with an entertainer (of some sort) ML of a lower station who dreams of travel/another country. Both MLs fall in love with a FL in a higher station.

- Gender role reversal (a matriarchy in Ooku, a male courtesan in Homme Fatale)
- ML is a free spirit, FL is reserved

Homme Fatale is more comedy focused while Ooku is darker and somber.

Another fusion sageuk with a great cast. Its similar point is not only the comedy, but also an interesting play on the stereotypical gender roles: Homme Fatale has a "feminine" male lead and Mr Queen's female lead is "manly". Both titles combine comedy with more serious undertones.

Both has male lead that somehow ended in the palace in feminist role.
