Wen Shu Pei's style of directing in Are you Lonesome Tonight? is very similar to Diao Yi Nan's in Wild Goose Lake

Another in the recent wave of mainland Chinese movies that get away with art under the cover of a crime thriller.

Both stories are about the revelation of the truth behind murders. They don't have the same director but the colour pallette used in both movies is similar.
'The Eleventh Chapter' is a little bit more comical and ambiguous.
