Is the rating a bit too much? I doubt it.The story was breathtaking, especially in the beginning.
Music was a perfect partner in crime in their appropriate scenes, mainly with action scenes. It gave people the adrenaline rush.
Acting was superb. Especially from the main characters.
I can actually see myself re-watching this in a few years.
I was highly satisfied with this drama.
So to avoid any spoilers, I'll just highly recommend this to people who enjoy their drama with historical themes, tear jerking, action and overall good quality work.

After watching this drama, Kim Joohyuk became my most revered actor. What an exceptional career he had. And this drama was his Phoenix!

The best historical mini series!
I laughed; I cried and cheered during the tournaments. The writers do a sensational job! Every part of the production is excellent... engaging and thought-provoking! The transitions were smooth, normally flashbacks are difficult to do. The character development is nicely accomplished... watching the changes in the characters was engaging. My favorite is the dialog that is a wonderful insight to Korean wisdom. Because of this mini-series and many others I appreciate the Korean people much more. Not to mention the martial arts, the talent is breath-taking! This Korean mini-series is one of the very best!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Dog of war
They shouldn't have had made Wol Ah / An Shim be played by the same actress regardless of their intent to have have them share resemblance to one another. Wol Ah had her own role and was a turning point in the story. Since An Shim came to the picture, up until the end she was nothing but Wol Ah's replacement and had no real character. The drama, unsurprisingly, shared a common problem with others of the same genre. The drama started with the backstory and the hero journey but later on it striped the personal attachments and turned it into a battlefield between nations instead of mixing both elements together. It got turned around the other way back and forth 4 more times, making each transition more jarring than the last. This is why there was a massive disconnect after the timeskip in the early second 1/3. In addition, the last 15 episodes were too long to endure.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
