It's a different story and plot but i feel that both dramas are very similar as their both "family " based, they both have similar character growth with all the characters, both deal with problems, and both are very slice- of -life

The main theme of both the dramas is family. Family as a single unit is strong but every individual has their own problems and shortcomings that they want to overcome.
Character development in Both dramas is very strongly shown and it is one of the positive sides of the drama.
Both deals with romance,
have good sense of humors,
music is also good in both the dramas.

I kept getting reminded of Nodame while watching Kahogo, I’d say it’s the same kind of feel and vibe. The FLs are similar in their behaviour, although for completely different reasons. The plot or themes aren’t really similar but you need to be in the same frame of mind while watching them.

Both stories have over-protective parents, and show character growth throughout the show. And both are on the comedy side and discuss the topic in a light way, so you'll have fun watching it..

Male leads in both dramas (Hajime and Kaoru) have a lot of similarities not just in looks. Kahoko has an overprotective mother, Kazumi (Virgin Road) had an overprotective father but both girls are completely different.

- There isn't any time travel in Kahogo no Kahoko but the death premonition part is similar
- Leads in both the drama are an artist and a hard-working person
- focus on family
- A raw Japanese feel
- The female lead has a difficult father relationship

Both with very naive girls (because of wealth or being too sheltered) paired with mature boys who have more experience with the world and its ups and downs.

Very sweet how the relationship between the two grows by watching the two girls mature, while the two boys learn to understand their quirks.

They're both slice-of-life in a way, but contain quirky humor and relationships that go from passive love/hate to the characters being on the verge of marriage. The main characters also tend to go outside of their comfort zone in order to grow as people or accomplish tasks.

These two slice-of-life dramas take place in extraordinary situations, and have a similar tone in both the comedy, romance, and character growth. Both dramas' female and male leads are similar in how the female lead seeks her place in the world (particularly through a job) and the male lead often keeps to himself but opens up over time. Hoshino Gen (Hiramasa Tsuzaki in Nigeru) also sings the theme song for both shows, a similarity that coincides with the overall vibe of the shows.

It's a different story and plot actually but i feel that the family from Kahoko's mother (Namiki's faamily) and Hirata's family have the same vibe.

Kahogo no Kahoko is a light hearted, less suspense filled version of Okaasan, Musume wo yamete ii desuka? Similar aspects include a very protective mother, a clueless daughter, a boy from the "outside" and the outcast father. I really enjoyed both drama and recommend both. I would like to say that the mother is not as "psycho" in Kahogo no Kahoko, she is very controlling however she has her good sides

Both series are about women (who are quite oblivious most of the time) learning how to gain their confidence. They both also feature cute romances where the male lead helps her come into herself.

These two dramas are seemingly quite different, but I think they have some themes in common, such as people working through various life issues and the characters trying to help each other through it. There's a theme of family here, in Kahogo no Kahako they are related by blood, but in Last Friends, the friends are like family. Last Friends is quite a bit darker in terms of the issues the characters deal with, but if you liked Kahogo no Kahoko, give Last Friends a try!

Even with different synopsis the emotional substructure of both dramas are same. I am assuming you have already watched 35sai no shoujo, therefore i will explain about the drama i am recommending, kahago no kahako tells a story about overprotected girl who might look adult but actually is very naïve and pampered by her overbearing mother.(similar to mother of 35sai no shoujo) She don't know the true functioning of society and assumes that everything is ideally happy. An encounter with struggling yet hardworking painter changes her believes tho ~. Male lead of both dramas are very similar! They show the bitter truth to our female leads and support them lovingly. Despite being a grown up , both of our leads mature with increasing episodes. Like nazomi , kahako will pass different levels of maturity and will lead to a happy family :)

- Family-oriented
- Love interest is also a friend, at first gets exasperate by the MC but is always there for support and advice
- Someone dear dies
- It is very heartwarming
