Story: Lots of clitches and sometimes plot holes, historical inconsistency etc, but hey what the heck, it is a web drama so you have to over look it if you really want to enjoy it, at least I did and it worked out for me.
Acting/Cast: Superb, they cast all 5 main leads and supporting cast perfectly, specially the main couple I heard they were in WGM top couples and definitely the director made a great choice casting people with great chemistry because everything looked so natural, skin ship, falling in love and kisses looked real. I have to point out the flower boy villain, this guy acting was superb over the top at times but that's what it made this show stand out for me.
Music: It was ok not memorable but ok.
Rewatch Value: I had cancelled my subscription to Netflix but I just renewed it so I could go back and for to watch what I missed.
If you guys have netflix please try to watch it there as much as you can, I have had problems with drama sites it takes forever.
Overall: A very well done, dorky, odd rom-com historical drama. Highly recommend it. It had a feeling like Go Princess Go (TDrama)

Lee Jong Hyun also shows sides of his acting ability never before seen, from silent, tough Busan namja to goofy pabo, but then slips back into his Busan namja leading man image again when required.
Together, they are golden. Their dramatic scenes are great, but what surprises is how well the play the comedic, slapstick humorous parts so well. It it obvious they are totally comfortable with each other. And the kiss scenes (5) well, I needed to turn up the A/C to cool down after watching them. Full on, open lips smooching like I've seen in only a few other Korean rom/coms. It's obvious to me they brought their A game to this drama, but I believe it is because they bring the best out in each other.
The script wanders and has a tendency to get lost at times, and there is a lot of replaying of old scenes, but the goofy, quirky, off center, sometimes slightly raunchy humor surprised and delighted me. It is as if they are portraying a tongue-in-cheek parody of Korean period dramas and the actors who star in them.
All in all a light-hearted piece of time slip rom-com that will have you laughing out loud in parts, and crying in others. I really enjoyed it. I hope they produce a Season 2 showing Ondal adapting to Korea in modern times. i t would be a hoot!

First, the acting. It was simply bad. Gong Seung Yeon in particular genuinely annoyed me with her performance. Was there really a need for this much yelling? She was not believable as a character or as a real person. Her acting felt forced and awkward at times. Lee Jonghyun also was simply awful in this drama. I feel like seeing his name on the cast list should have been a red flag for me for so many reasons, not the least of which was the fact that he was in my least favorite drama, and the only one rated lower than this one, Orange Marmalade. To put it nicely his character was dumb. He made stupid decisions, jumped to conclusions, and had no deeper thoughts throughout the entirety of the drama. (Just as an aside, I won't talk about his personal issues in this review because I know it might be upsetting to some and is, in the end, insignificant l to this drama's quality).
The plot had nothing of significance to offer. It was contrived, dumb, and foolish. A comedy that was wholly unfunny. The ending too made no sense when one considers the rules of time travel within the show and how the end was subsequently explained.
The show's budget also seemed to be nonexistent. The sets, costumes, hair, and makeup were all embarrassingly amateur-looking. I was shocked at how low quality the production was. This seems to be a common theme amongst webcomic adaptations but My Only Love Song was still glaringly bad even when held to a lower standard to account for webcomic adaptation budgets.
This drama was a waste of my time. Perhaps I should have been wearier of this drama given who the male lead is but as this drama had a relatively good rating I wanted to give it a fair shake despite my misgivings. I regret doing so.

But My Only Love Song runs out of that very quickly: after those episodes, the vulgar side of the comedy and particularly the absurdly frequent and long repetitions (sometimes a third of an episode's running time!) stuck out too much to continue. With the new characters' arrival (eps. 5-6) it no longer made even simple sense.
I would've dropped it there, but I didn't due to funny circumstances that lead to going over the first half and thus wanting to get it finished. At first that choice seemed good enough, because with the protagonists' relationship becoming clear the drama turned a bit entertaining again, and it was possible to see all the foolishness around them and the "villain" as something amusing instead of stupid.
Yet the improvement didn't last long this time either.
From there, the series switched to drama and wasn't better written any for it—quite the opposite. That it tried to cope with more serious events showed how weak the writing's quality is. The plot and the pace were always messy, but I was especially disappointed in the characters' writing turning extremely unsteady and incoherent. If in one scene a character clearly feels despicable and in the next one you kind of like him, and then he's treated by the plot as despicable again, this just shows great inconsistency.
With how little I've watched, there were little gestures I still thought were specific to certain characters from other dramas, and My Only Love Song pointed them out simply as K-drama clichés, so it was also the cause for some disenchantment.
There were things I liked at the beginning, and I was curious about how the story would fare out. At some point I also thought the characters were peculiar enough to follow, until they also progressed insufficiently. Both the initial ideas and their later execution showed more holes as the episodes went on. Even simple aspects like the music were mixed and applied chaotically, not to say with very little taste.
It also didn't help to find out about Lee Jong Hyun's misconduct mid-way, as that added even more conflict and unpleasantness to watching it.
Overall, with the exception of the initial and some middle episodes, it worsened progressively and, despite being hesitant along the way, I finished it feeling clearly that My Only Love Song wasn't worth picking up, and even less finishing.

Struggle to finish
I thought I would enjoy this but oh boy I was wrong, from the cheesy acting to the back play of the previous episode that takes almost 1/2 of the new episode at times, I feel like I could have spent these 10 hours on something waaaay more productive.I will break it down for you, at first the plot seemed pretty interesting to begin with but I soon lost interest as the absurdity grew out of control. It made no sense at all who could drive the vehicle or what it even did. Sure it was funny at times but they kept emphasising the same joke over and over i'm sure even a 5 year old would of got tired of it.
I was not fond of the acting either, it was way to exaggerated and childish. I just could not like any of the characters, whether they were just ignorant and dense all the time or just annoying to watch. I became very bored of the main romance and even the supporting roles romances were a struggle to watch.
The music I cannot really comment on as I do not watch dramas for their music, nothing really struck out to me, but nothing irritated me either.
The rewatch value? Do not watch it in the first place. I could recommend you plenty other historical dramas that you should spend 10 hours on rather than this.

The cast was well matched, and the acting and chemistry was excellent.
SeungYeon, showed different sides of her character, and it was different from the other roles she's played. Her acting was really really commendable.
JongHyun has improved so much in acting, and everybody who knows him, will know that. The chemistry between the two leads was unbelievable.
Ohhhh! The kisses! 5 passionate ones

The story is well-written enough for a fantasy web drama. It is light-hearted, easy to watch and especially hilarious!
Of course, I will rewatch it

I love the characters and the storyline. I was rooting for On Dal and Song Soo Jung to be together. I was so happy that they did. I wish there was more because I did not understand how On Dal found his way to the present by just walking with a flashlight.
I love the chemistry. I love the lead actress. She was soooooo funny. Go II Yong was hilarious as a villain. I was sad to see him die.
Although I finished watching, I find myself going back to see some very important scenes over and over again.

Unfortunately, after watching My Only Love Song I can only give it a 5 out 10 rating... There are so many better dramas to invest time in... this is not one I will be watching again.
Since I have not seen this mentioned....Side note for parents: This drama is rated for a Mature-14 audience , which is not surprising since most Kdramas are rated for ages 15 and up in Korea. Unlike most k-dramas I have watched in the past.... F@^k and other colorful words are a repeatedly part of the dialog... If you are watching this when younger children who can "read" and they are in the room with you just be aware.

A promising parody betrayed by its own attempts at sincerity
I was immediately sucked in by the premise of My Only Love Song: A high-profile actress featuring as the FL in a historical K-drama is taken back in time to the actual historical setting of the drama. Hilarity unfolds as k-drama tropes clash with historical reality.Except that's not what happens across the 20 episodes. For an episode or two, it looked like the drama was heading in that direction. But then, for whatever reason, the writers decided to change tact and pursue a typical k-drama romance plotline in a historical setting. There was still a strong comedic element running throughout but it wasn't satirical in any way.
I felt a bit betrayed. The romance plotline was boring and cliché. However, the absurd humour kept me going – with special mention going to Park Joo Hyung's truly delightful performance. This drama is a fun time but with a lot of wasted potential.
