SWAP (2016)

Oh wow! I've seen many many BL dramas, and SWAP is one of my favorites. I really liked the story, because it wasn't just a BL, but there were also elements of GL (between the famous singer and the other girl haha).

Overall, this was super good (the story and all), but what really did it for me is LEOxLUCAS!!!!

I discovered Leo and Lucas before I even watched this. I saw a little clip of them somewhere on a mountain and THEY LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE A CANON COUPLE. Later on, I discovered SWAP and realized that they weren't actually dating (T_T) but I truly believe that there's something between them.

The plot is pretty interesting, however, the acting is not the greatest. It isn't necessarily that the casting was bad, but there were a lot of scenes where the cast didn't do well on the lines and such. In my opinion, it wasn't worth my time. The attractive cast drew me in and kept me watching, but in the end, their appearances weren't enough. I felt Leo (Yuwen You Tian) was the strongest actor as he delivered some heavily emotional scenes, while many of the other actors didn't demonstrate a lot of acting ability. Basically, the biggest problem with this series is the acting. If you can look past that, then definitely check out the first few episodes. If you're like me though, and you can't stand bad acting, don't bother watching this.

Honestly, when I first saw this drama trailer, I immediately thought; "Perfect, a bittersweet BL story" However, I was wrong.
Starting off the first four episodes I felt feels and loved it despite the poor acting. There was the BL I was watching for and even a little GL on the side.
It was all great and enjoyable.

Until...

The accident scene...
Okay, so my first thought after this was; "Oh God, two couples lost their lovers"

But no


In some strange shitstorm of a directing and writing freefall, the whole story went 360.
The male and female characters 'swapped' souls, which links to the title, in the most ridiculous way possible.

The director and writer, decided to completely erase all GAY from the series by making the couples straight?!

Why bother then with the first 5 episodes of BL and GL at all?!

I dropped it after that. A complete arseways storyline and I am so disappointed, it would have been way more effective if you stuck with the BL aspect. Literally wasted over three hours on this...

Don't waste your time on this either.

SWAP (Chinese Web Series)

I guess this series was made as a support for LGBT community. Why? Because their are two couples as the main characters. GuangGuang and Yu Wen (both boys) and YaunYuan and the Lesbian girl whose name I forgot (both girls).
The story was basically what the title wants to imply, SWAP. The four main characters got into an accident and GuangGuang's soul was swapped with YuanYuan's sould. So basically GuangGuang's soul was in YuanYuan's body and vise versa. That's the twist of the story.
The build up of the story was amazing but the acting skills of the casted characters was quite mediocre. And since the plot and the twist was kind of extraordinary I guess the director was having a hard time thinking of a spectacular ending but let me tell you this frankly, I was not satisfied of how the series was ended. So If I am going to rate this series I will give a 7/10 rating.
I already liked the build up but I'm kind of worried when I reached the last past because it seems that there's still something that need to be done yet it's already the last episode so I was kind of disappointed but still it was a good series.
