Have very different storylines and themes, but both deal with aspects of prison life and the bonds between cellmates.

Both involved justice system. The prosecutors in both are the main lead. There is a powerful rich person manipulate, cunning, in this case

A guy with a temporary amnesia has to endure it all .. due to believing that he is a vicious killer. Both has to deal with false accusations of a murder.. and the battle between the protagonist and the antagonist it's just intriguing.

Both protagonists are arrested and sent to prison for crimes they supposedly didn't commit.

- both dramas are dark and focus on uncovering the crimes of powerful people

They both start with the family husband being charged of murdering their family and chased by the police even though all the police has is circumstantial evidence.

I have only one thing to say: Doctor Prisoner is a major upgrade to Defendant in every step of the way for revenge thriller genre. Enjoy the watch!

Both dramas deal about prosecutors, family murder and in both dramas the main leads try to find out what truly happened that lead them to be in the current situation.

Both are crime thrillers set in a law drama setting. As for the main leads, the ML in Defendant undergoes a more tragic life event involving himself, while in Confession the tragedy involves his father. Both are exceptionally well-written shows that really must be watched by fans of crime/law dramas. Confession, in particular, is very underrated and deserves more love!

the stories start similar, both are wrongfully accused of killing their spouse and both don't remember it (or LAL is not telling the full story for now) and both are parents that get separated from their kids + "rich" people are out to get them
