Love and Honor (2006)

First film in the trilogy by Yamada Yoiji. "Love and Honor" is the last part.

Second film in the trilogy by Yamada Yoiji.

Both have the same director and are about low ranking samurai who deal with love, impending poverty, and honour.

-The female leads in both films remind me of eachother. They're both extremely loyal, and don't hesitate to take action or make sacrifices for the male lead(s). They also both get mistreated in someway.

Love and Honor tells the story about a samurai food taster and his wife. Both, "A Tale of Samurai Cooking" and "Love and Honor" show that love can form and persist in turbulent times. Both illustrate that a true love story does not always have to follow a Cinderella storyline and can still be beautiful.

Both are based on fiction by Shuhei Fujisawa.

A look at the relationship between a young blind samurai (Kimura) and his wife, who will make a sacrifice in order to defend her husband's honor.
