Its also a music based drama...with leads being Jung Yong hwa and Park Shin hye since fans wanted them together so bad in You're Beautiful... Its simple and adorable..
Both are related to music, and the lead females both play the same(traditional)instrument and fall in love with a popular male.
Both are about music and two people falling in love. Plus both actors and actress play the same insturment and combine traditional chinese music with modern music.
Both got musicians falling in love with each other. The couples got great chemistry with each other, romantic moments and funny moments too.
-two groups that initially don't like each other and have to come together
-Both leads are "leaders" of said groups
-Romance(?) between the leads, the quirky and witchy characters, and the teachers
-cute, quirky male (N and Minhyuk)
-The female leads are the same, strong and independent but know when to turn for help and want to do the right thing
-witchy female character (Hee Joo and Soo Ah)
-Teachers who try their best to support the students and their dreams
-same type of drama goes on in both like the cancellation of the goals of the combined teams and teacher complications

Very similar to heartstrings.. Revolves around a set of students where the central theme is achieving their dreams and music.. And most similarity is the music itself.. Both have wonderful music.. Very calm and warm.. Worth a try..
both dramas are similar in the sense that both the mains are going to a music school and play some sort of instrument.
Lee Shin is a university student majoring in modern music. He is the vocalist of the band "The Stupid" and also plays the guitar. He is known for his good looks and his strong passion for music but is in reality a cold person who is uninterested in non-music related things and has no dreams nor plans for the future. Shin initially likes a dance professor at his university, but this all changes when he meets Lee Kyu Won. Lee Kyu Won is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Kyu Won's grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age, and his biggest wish is to have his granddaughter trained to become a traditional music prodigy in 10 years' time. Trying to live up to her grandfather's expectations, Kyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing besides traditional music. As Kyu Won's friends are fans of "The Stupid", she was forced to go to the band's concert with them. There, she saw Lee Shin performing live and is immediately captivated by him.
In some views you can't even compare 'Heartstrings' to 'Glass Mask' (there are two seasons), because 'Glass Mask' is better in many ways, but both are about acting and working hard in order to achieve your dreams. GM is not so much about romance as H is, but it shows the reality of being an actor.
Both are about a cool, very popular guy and a simple, but talented girl and how they due time get together.
you might like it beacause it's also a movie about music, and you can see cute Min Hyuk in both !!
both romances center around music. The leads start out disliking each other, but when forced to be around them their relationships turn sweet.
