If you liked Shogun, you might also like Six Flying Dragons (SFD). Besides the obvious differences—one is a K-drama, the other an American production, and one has 50 episodes and the other 10—there are many similarities. Both are about the rise of authoritarian leaders. Like Shogun, SFD is very well written and acted out, and there is a mix of real-life and fictional characters.

However, the main difference is that SFD does not use any historical revisionism, neither character nor plot. Historical events are followed to the letter, both the glory and gore.

the vibes of both dramas are kinda similar, and I might even say it's in the same time period, but don't quote me on that ;D

I believe someone who likes 'General and I' drama may like the Six Flying Dragons, Korean Drama just watch a few episodes. You will like it.

Written by the same screenwriters <3 Arthdal talks about the legend of a land, while Six is about the birth of Joseon Era.

Did you like how your favourite heroes changed, how all that happiness became bitterness? From hero to villain. The ending climax of Advisor Allience Season 2 which has been built up since the beginning is the same as Six Flying Dragons.

In terms of political schemes and the dilemma between right and wrong and serving the people , I can say that they are both similar in many ways

Both dramas tells the story of how General Yi Dan (Yi Seong Gye) became ruler of newly form country, Joseon. The Great Seer focus more on the changes that lead up to the origins of Joseon. The Six Flying Dragons focus on how General Yi Dan who is crowned King Taejo shaped and molded Joseon with the help of his son, Yi Bang Won and trusted friend, Jung Do Jeon.

1) Both dramas have the same director
2) If you want to watch more about King Taejong (Yi Bang Won) who was the third king of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea and the father of King Sejong the Great. He helped his father King Taejo establish the Joseon Dynasty.

Both are sageuk by the same writers. Shin Se Kyung is in both dramas too.

They both share similar plot lines. However, In six flying dragons there’s more scheming for the throne and it’s before joseon was established. I think of secret door as a continuation as it is 21kings in, so it’s more about how they can continue to help the commonners and the lower-class of society whilst dealing with opposition from the nobility. They are both great political dramas for me anyways.

they both have very ambitious young men determined to make their dreams come true regardless of the obstacles standing in their way

So far it seems like the transition and shift of dynasty similar to 6 Dragons especially with the mention of Yi Bangwon/Lee Bangwon (Jang Hyuk hyung). Hence I find Seo Hwi similar to Lee Bang-ji & Nam Sun Ho similar to Moo Hyul of of Six Dragons, respectively.

Both dramas are about the rise of Lee Bang Won. Difference is King of Tears is meant to be a more historical take while 6 Flying Dragons adds some interesting characters.
