This season honestly surprised me. It's not at all what you think something that old is going to be. And sure there is some cringe but mostly in the beginning. Other than that, this show is thoughtful and genuine and it's realistic so all the characters and stories feel real. It's not dark and the angst is mostly emotional but because it feels real it gets to you.

Honestly, Phun and Noh are now officially on the Knock and Korn level for me now. They are relatable, with faults and shortcomings but never shallow. And only Captain can get away with being ridiculously beautiful in that shitty hair lol but seriously they have chemistry but also the relationship itself feels organic and the dialog just devastatingly beautiful.

Ahhhhh I'm glad there's a new season coming up! I can't wait.

I loved this show so much. It was the first lgbt/ boy love/ gay show I had watch when it come to asian shows. It also was one of the first to come out In asian. This show did a lot when it come to make lgbt/ boy love/ gay show ok in asian. The romance was great this show and the two boys had great chemistry together. They were really good together. They had great friends. There was lot of drama so it keep me entertaining the whole time. I would recommend this show to most people no matter the age.

Considered to be the first Thai BL series and also the initiator of the expansion of Asian boy love dramas to the rest of the continent and the world, 'Love Sick The Series' explores the experiences of students who attend an exclusively university male called Friday College, based on the budding love story between Noh, the president of his music club, and Phun, the vice president of the Student Council of the aforementioned house of higher studies.
The series has two seasons: the first aired in Thailand from July 6, 2014 to September 21, 2014, with 12 episodes, and the second in 2015, with 36 episodes. In April 2019, the main characters appeared in the three-part miniseries 'Reminders'.
Broadcast on Channel 9, the series written and directed by Andy Rachyd Kusolkulsiri, a filmmaker from the Thai queer scene, known for directing the homoerotic drama 'Me: My Familiar People', which caused a stir due to the strong sexual scenes, and for being The producer of the comedy 'Tom Gay', which portrays the relationships of a gay and lesbian couple, does a very restrained job in 'Love Sick: The Series' by putting teenagers before the cameras.
Director of series and films such as 'Friend Forever' (2020), 'Thank God It's Friday' (2019), 'Water Boyy' (2017), 'Make It Right' (2016), 'Water Boyy: The Movie' ( 2015), and 'Cause You're My Boy' (2018), among others, Rachyd Kusolkulsiri adapts in his debut work the original novel of "Thai Boys Love Love Sick: The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys", written by INDRYTIMES or Latika Chumpoo.
In writing the script, Andy Rachyd Kusolkulsiri has the collaboration of
Fern Tanyatorn Butyee, renowned BL writer, with scripts that were later brought to the screen in the series "Chains of Heart" (2023), and "ReminderS" (2019), among others.
We are facing a story of coming of age and coming out of the closet. Also, before a love story. I wouldn't say it's an LGBT+ story because their struggle to fall in love is more complex than gender.
Starring Captain Chonlathorn Kongyingyong ('Rak Sood Jai Yai Tua Saeb, 2023), and White Nawat Phumphotingam, ('Water Boyy The Series, 2017), as Noh and Punn, respectively, both in their acting debut, the first season stands out for adapt many Japanese yaoi tropes.

THE HISTORY

Punn has a dilemma: despite having a girlfriend, his father insists that he date the daughter of one of his friends. Punn decides to ask his little sister, Pang, to help him convince his father to change his mind. Knowing that his sister is a true Y-girl obsessed with boy love novels, Punn comes up with a crazy plan to win her support: convince Pang that he has a boyfriend.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Noh discovers that his Music Club's budget is short and they need money to buy new batteries. Noh runs to the Student Council for help and finds Punn, his vice president, to whom he presents his case, and Punn decides that he has found the perfect candidate for his plan.
Punn asks Noh to be her fake boyfriend in exchange for help with her Music Club's budget. Noh is reluctant at first, but when he shows up at Punn's house, the plan goes as Punn intended and Pang is convinced they are a couple. She agrees to help Punn with his father.
Throughout the first season, the story revolves around the many adventures that Noh and Punn encounter. Their relationship changes through these experiences and eventually the two 17-year-old boys fall in love with each other.
Luangsodsai Anupart, Chindavanich Primrose, Charnmanoon Pannin and Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong are part of the cast and bring drama, humor and intensity to the series.
I love this show, the first Boy's Love show I ever saw in my life when it comes to Asian shows, to the extent that I watch it again from time to time, and today, 10 years after it aired, when it's just hours away from premiering a new version, I enjoy the drama again and decide to write this review.
'Love Sick The Series' is credited with doing a lot to make the LGBT+/Boy' Love/Gay show acceptable in Asia.
The chemistry between the two boys is perfect. Their relationship is great. They are very good with each other. Without any toxicity. Pure innocent love and understanding. Many shows have had the same premise, but nothing could compare to the pure adoration and feelings these characters show for each other.
Seeing Punn and Noh, who can't help but fall in love, and hence the name of the series, seeing them suffer from lovesickness, seeing them sick with love, something that is portrayed wonderfully, turned me into a lover of the genre.
The performance of Chonlathorn Kongyingyong and Nawat Phumphothingam is magnificent as they show themselves confused by feelings they do not dare to admit.
I enjoyed this incredible show. I'm literally lovesick too just looking at it. Seeing the tension, Puhn's eyes make me feel very strongly for him. And Noh is so adorable that I can't help but want love to emerge between the two.
Unlike other dramas, here the two main protagonists are portrayed as equals where twists, innocence, friendship, jealousy, care and clumsiness are mixed. In addition to the main couple, there are also other heterosexual and homosexual couples.
The beautiful cinematography draws the viewer in. It's adorable how Siam and related areas are shown. The daytime scenes and especially the nighttime ones are beautiful.

OTHER CHARACTERS

Jeed is a new student transferring from a public school to a private convent school across from Friday College. There he meets Aim, who is Phun's current girlfriend, and Yuri, who is Noh's girlfriend. Jeed then meets Noh's friend Khom/"Sharp" and they fall in love. At the same time, Jeed tries everything he can to fit in with his new classmates and the couple struggles to overcome the many expectations they encounter.
For his part, Tangmo is a student at a nun's school, and Moan, a student at a technical school who is the nephew of the principal of Friday College. They live together in the same condominium as husband and wife. All his friends know, but his parents have no idea. Golf, Moan's best enemy, lives next to them and keeps his secret.
Madmee and Jiab, Prang's little sister's best friends, also share a love for Yaoi. They all go to the same acting school. There, Pang and her friends meet Pop and Shay, who are inevitably "imagined" by the girls as a couple, and the trio does everything they can to ensure that Pop and Shay fall in love, but things are not so easy.

THE SOUNDTRACK

The soundtrack is sublime. Highlights include songs such as "Shake/Sun" [สั่น]", in two versions, the one performed by Sompob Pokepoon/Boy Sompob, and by Various Artist; "Begging" [ขอร้อง]", by Kongyingyong (performed by Chonlathorn/Captain Chonlathorn), "Did You Forget? [ลืมไปหรือเปล่า]", (Primrose Chindavanich); "Pass [ผ่าน]", (Chanagun Arpornsutinan/Gunsmile); "I Still Can't [ยังทำไม่ได้]", (Coates Samantha Melanie); "Just Only That [แค่เท่านั้น]", (Ausavaterakul Ausavapat/New); "If I Died [หากฉันตาย]" (Anik Kornkulchat & Pantita Kongsomtith); "Is This Love?" (Various Artist); "The Voice That Changed [เสียงที่เปลี่ยน]", (Luangsodsai Anupart/Ngern); "Farsighted [สายตายาว]" (Various Artist); "I Like You Both [อยากเก็บเธอไว้ทั้งสองคน]", (Paisarnkulwong Vachiravit/August); "Don't Get Me Wrong [อย่าเข้าใจฉันผิด]", (Nalurmas Sa-nguanpholphairot); "Nungira", (Hanwuthinanon/Gale & Manassanant Arkomdhon; "Door [ประตู]", (Tol Vonthongchai); "Unconditional Love [รักไม่มีเงื่อนไข]", (Nat Sakdatorn & Tol Vonthongchai) and "My Love Never Changes [ไม่มีวัน เปลี่ยน]", performed by Sompob Pokepoon/Boy Sompob.
Season 1 of Love Sick the Series ends with Phun and Noh deciding to stay away from each other for the sake of their two girlfriends, whom they don't want to hurt with their affair.

Tbh, this bl series is my taste. I really really enjoyed this series so much. I could say the story is so simple and has slow plot. Most realistic thai bl series so far. Usually i dropped or almost giving up for watch when it entered the episode <10, because most of other bl series have the good story in the beggining and somehow bored at the last episodes. I tell ya, been watching TGWM, MIR and Love By a Chance. I think this one (Love Sick) has the best plot, the background music very well fitted with the scene and the story of the rest beside the main leads was interesting. I can say this is ordinary yet fascinate.

What i really like : has deep impression, maybe the plot? I'm not bored to watch this.

What i don't like : The shoot of camera sometimes went trembles. But i think that's okay.

P.S: Well actually it's tight with MIR and each has advantages in different aspects. MIR i liked their comedy jokes and this one i liked the storyline! So i give same point as MIR! Let's see season 2!

high school love!

LOVE SICK was first introduced to me as one of the most recommended thai bl drama that should watch while watching some bl dramas in you tube. i was first hesitant to watched this drama because of the 1st episode, i was like this is the story of straight couple, and i really don't want to watched a bl drama with straight couples in it because they will make the story more complicated, it just that i want another male to be the antagonist in the story (hehehe), but when i watched REMINDERS (whose the main couple of the LOVE SICK was also included in the story) i was eagerly to watched it again, because they were still together on the series! i was like they were 6 - 7 years in the relationship already! (according to the time frame of LOVE SICK and REMINDERS that was being released.) and i was also familiar with the main couple (White and Captain) and i love those two actors, the way they act in the series.

story:
this is not your typical high school story love, this is a kind of love that has many things to consider. i like how they manage to grow their love from one another (the main couple). they give me butterflies in the stomach whenever i watched it! even though it is just skinship.

acting/casting:
yup! they were good at it, they handle the role really well, they were look matured in their role even though they were just teenagers at that time with no experience in acting at all (based on ep12)

music:
i love the music! it gives me chills of being inlove in high school! i will not get tired of playing it all over again.

Rewatched and Over all Value:
yup! i give it a 10! i really love watching this series, i love all of it! you will not hesitant to rewatched it! a light bl drama in a high school community! you will feel loved all over again!

AHHH, OKAY THAT'S FINE......

For this series, I kinda find it quite interesting. I have watched the trailer and I was 'ah, okay let's get i to it' and now I watched the whole s1, I gotta say that I enjoyed it slightly. For me this first season is just the point where I found myself lingering for interesting parts of the story. White and Captain are a cute couple and they are the only one who did a little spark in this series. For me, this is a fine series but is it rewatchable? No, not necessarily. There were so many characters that I was hardly recognizing. The acting were a raw and it feels like this series became a documentary type of acting which is, okay, fine for me. There were no more anything special about this series. I enjoyed the S2 than I did this season. I kinda wish that both Phun and Noh ended their relationships with their gfs.

If you like this drama, please give season 2 a chance its a lot more detailed.

Overall this drama is pretty cute. I finally found a drama that valued hugs and more soft skinship (PDA) instead of just kissing. Season One isn't that long and the story develops much more in the second season so please stay with this drama! The acting is quite good the soundtrack is very catchy.
I'm not a huge fan of lots of makeout scenes and so I found this dram good in that aspect. It isn't the softest drama out there as there is still lots of sexual jokes and swearing but I liked how there weren't really many makeout scenes.

This drama is 50/50

If you're new to BL this would be the perfect starter series

There isn't really much to say about this drama; it isn't exactly the best but also not the worst. It kinda eases you into the whole BL genre and mostly focuses on teenagers discovering different things about there sexuality/ going through break ups and what that entails.

If you don't like the female role getting in between the main couple i don't recommend watching this series. BUT don't let that put you off because it is worth a watch as everyones taste in dramas are different.

Great show...but only for the main leads

So I am only halfway through this show but I wanted to discuss some thoughts, especially those which will help people decide if they want to watch it.

Let's get the bad things out the way first. I might have written a lot about the negatives, but trust me, the good heavily outweighs the bad.

My main point is the fact that I am only watching for the main leads. There are around 3 or 4 side couples with their own storyline, which they do get quite a bit of screentime and attention each, but I don't seem to care too much about them. And that's simply because they aren't connected to the main plot of the story.

The primary couple I will talk about is Kom and Jeed. Kom is a member of the swim team and his first attempt at flirting was with a new girl from the neighbouring school - and from there we watch their relationship grow. We get introduced to these 2 characters separately, before they meet, however after that, the only time they show up is in their couple scenes. Neither No nor Phun is in the swim team, so we never see him with the main leads. And because this show is set in an all-boys school, we don't see Jeed other than these scenes too.
This is the same for all of the couples. Yes, some of the guys are No's friends, but we never see them hang out. Honestly, I don't even recognise these characters or know their names simply because they aren't seen often enough.
Because of this, these couples feel irrelevant and disconnected from the story. The scenes aren't bad and they're definitely not bad couples, but you don't feel a connection to them. I could easily skip their scenes as they add nothing to the story.

Obviously, since I've not finished the show yet, this might change and the couples might become significant. But for now, they drag the plot and bore me.

The second negative is Phun's little sister. I hate her with all my being. She is one of those toxic BL fans who idolise gay men and put them on a pedestal. The whole reason Phun has to ask out No in the first place is that his sister won't help him unless he has a boyfriend. If that isn't toxic behaviour, I don't know what is. She is quite literally sexualising and fetishising her own brother and I find it so uncomfortable to watch.
Pang and her friends also ship 2 boys in their drama class. This is because they acted as a couple in 1 play...PLAY...and these girls think they're a couple. Sure, they do act like it, but that does not give them the excuse to fangirl in front of them like they are celebrities.
The only good thing about this is the cinematography. In the scene is just described (episode 5), we see these 2 boys through the eyes of Pang. The screen develops a pink hue and the harsh colour decrease. I don't know the proper names for this stuff but basically everything looks fluffy and magical, with romantic music in the background. It's a great way to visualise her thought process and how she literally sees them as TV characters.

Anyway. The good parts!

As I said, I'm mostly watching for Phun and No because their storyline is the most interesting and most developed. I love their story so far. It is a great example of the 'friends to lovers' trope. Their story is a little different as the idea of being lovers was apparent straight away, with Phun asking No out in the first episode and the two having to act like a couple, despite only just meeting, one episode later. Their friendship blossoms and eventually so does their love. It's a gradual but apparent change and the viewer can watch it happen in 'real time'.
My favourite part is, again, the cinematography. There are moments where the audio cuts out to play the OST, and a montage plays. Usually, the montage is just one task - i.e. washing No's motorbike and playing videogames - but it gives the illusion of catching the couple in a moment of intimacy, something we shouldn't be watching. Of course, it's nothing sexual, it's literally just the boys throwing soap at each other. But the moment feels private, that we feel like we are on this romantic journey with them. It's a really unique feeling and makes for some incredible scenes.

Overall, this show is great for fluffy romance and is really sweet and light to watch. I highly recommend it.
