My favourites tend to be strong and intelligent characters who are complex and driven but also show realistic emotions/weaknesses.

Main leads are gangsters, killers, assassins, delinquents, or con men, etc. 

Dramas/movies where main leads hide their true identities. A hidden identity or past that then gets revealed. <<Spoiler warning>>

One person playing two roles. These are the ones that really impressed me.
