Addictive!!!
The friendships between all four characters were spot on and I never knew what was going to happen. That itself made the series very addictive (I finished it in 2 or 3 days).Li Yi Tong was spot on the entire time; she's badass, rough around the edges, yet grows and show her vulnerable side more as the series progresses. Li Jie was kind of a nuisance at the beginning, but later shapes into a more responsible, character (yet still maintains his boyishness). Zhang Yubo is a little cold at the beginning, yet his transforms into a more caring one as his friendship/relationship progresses with Xiao Jiu. Xiao Jiu was the only character I did not like as much relative to the other three. She kind of getting herself mixed up between pursuing Yubo and trying to save him at the beginning. She makes Yubo the center of her universe too much and is annoying was she cried/gets upset. However, I did like how Xiao Jie showed determination as the series progressed.
Nevertheless, there were a few things that I did not like.
1. It was predictable that Fatty was up to no good almost the entire time.
2. I wish the drama between Yi Tong and her mom was played out more.
3. The end was a little confusing imo
Definitely would recommend this to someone that is looking for something just a little different (but not super different)

Behind the Times, but Still Recommend
I loved the chemistry between Sky and Sun. Both actors were spot on in their roles! Pitch and Bank were a great (comic relief) couple too! Some of the things I didn't like were as follows:
1. Pitch's sudden character change towards the beginning. I didn't quite get that?
2. Both Juno and Toekyang were portrayed as weak characters that can't defend themselves or fight in a demanding situation. I felt that suggested that boys are supposed to be physically strong and mighty and girls need a man to protect them. I'm not exactly sure the year this series took place and the gender stereotypes/roles in Thailand (or if to what extent they exist per see), but it did feel behind the times.
3. Boat's song was pretty good, but definitely overplayed throughout the series (though it was cool when Sun actually sung the song by the fire)
4. The last episode had some fire love scenes, but the agreement between the boys and Sky's father was just what?
5. This drama felt like an early to mid - 2010s style drama, not one from 2021 just based on the production style. But then again, this is also my first Thai drama, so the film industry likely has some differences from China, Taiwan, and Korea. However, I will say that I didn't really get into the LGBTQIA+ Chinese/Taiwanese/Korean dramas, but I was addicted to this one.
Definitely would still recommend watching this one, especially if you are into BL dramas!

Characters and plot are hit and miss
The chemistry between the two leads is probably the best I've ever seen in a Chinese drama/movie. They do both the "bickering" and the "romantic" scenes very, very well. Much of the younger supporting cast as well as Mu Zili's parents have strong character development. This blend lended to some great comedic and dramatic moments in the series. And bonus: awesome accordion playing. The downsides are that there are too many "running away" or "someone getting serious hurt/ill" type of scenes and some of the older men are annoyingly angry and/or manipulative.
Overall, I would recommend this series to most anyone. I wish that they would make a part 2 which explores what was going on in the original universe (and perhaps a part 3 covering what happened in Mu Zili's life while he was still in the parallel universe without Daqian).

If I'm being nitpicky, Bob seemed like a real fuckboy. If I'm being really nitpicky, I did not like Lana calling the other girls "whores". Granted, maybe "whores" doesn't have as a bad of a connotation as in the U.S.?, but I still think that Lana is unjustified in calling other women that word. Nevertheless, I thought Dob as Bob was overall pretty good. I just didn't understand how he could pee in the toilet while looking in the mirror.
The other criticism I have is that the story was a little fast-paced and confusing at times. I didn't catch on to what people/AIs were saying, so I had to rewind at times.
Overall, if you are into AI-themed movies/dramas, this one is ok, but I would probably recommend others over this one.

Unique Storyline, Typical CDrama Faults
The headline kinda sums it up. Parts of the series were also predictable too (Xiaoci getting attacked by Xu Dian). I also think the Xiao Ai trope was revealed too early, though her character was played well.Even when I was getting sick of the typical "Does she like him?/Does he like her?" thing (and almost dropped the series), I really liked Xiaoci's character. Her cunning, hard-to-get nature with Du Lingfeng was spot on, and I like that the series gave her a backstory as to why she is the way that she is.
I'm glad I didn't drop the series, but I'll admit to fast-forwarding through some parts. I think I would recommend this series, but would definitely not put it at the top of my list.

The Tea on "Coffee, Please"
Story: The story an interesting concept. However, I felt that it does have several plot holes, which the writer try to cover up through the God. I felt that the ending suited the story really well tho. In terms of production, I thought the quality was a little early to mid-2010s, so I was surprised to learn that this series came out in 2018. However, the effects in the series suited the theme very well.Characters: I thought that Kang Ye Na and Park Ah Reum were unbearably annoying and that the God, Moon Jung Won, and Oh Go Woon were kinda crazy (Honestly, maybe Jung Won and Go Woon would have been good together). Nevertheless, the God had some sage advice. Writer Im was played very well, but sometimes his character was creepy, and other times, he was overforgiving, etc. Jung Sook was my favorite because he is a gentleman and can say a lot without saying much (I was so sad to see that this is the only drama this character was in :( )
Music: It suits the theme of the series really well, but I did not necessarily fall in love with the songs. The one exception was "Plz Don't Be Sad" by Highlight; it's so hip! (You're welcome ;) )
Overall, I did like it, but I would not say I would recommend this series.

Supporting Characters > Leads (minor spoilers)
Story: The drama was executed spectacularly in this series, with great choice of cases. Sometimes, the transitions between cases were smooth and other times, there were bumps in the road so to speak. The comedic elements most of the time were a complete flop (except for maybe Prosecutor Jeong practicing his interrogation; I almost LOLed really hard!). For the amount of themes covered in the series, I felt that it was not terribly confusing (maybe a little bit though or perhaps just some loose ends).Acting: The ML chemistry was ok... was certainly not the worst, but definitely wasn't the best either. Personally, I liked the chemistry between Hong Joo and Officer Han, so I got a little SLS. But the supporting cast was superb and really carried the story!
Music: The dramatic music was spot on, but some of the romantic music was overplayed in the series, especially Suzy's "I Love You, Boy" (I like the song. It was just overused).
Overall, I would recommend this series to anyone that likes law/detective-like drama that can withstand awkward comedic scenes.

Needed Better Balance with the Supporting Characters, but the Main Characters are Good
I did not the point of certain characters being in the series (i.e. Nam Joo Yeon) and other characters I had seen more of (Hong Joon, Kang Ah Young). Neverthelesss, I liked a lot of the main characters in the series.Bo Ra always sticks up for Seol. Additionally, her bickering with Eun Taek is pretty comical.
Seol is a very strong character who doesn't let her life situation or peers get in the way of her studies.
Baek In Ha comes off as very needy, annoying, and a bully, but you see why she is the way she is through flashbacks of her experiences growing up. There's a lot of depth to her character.
Baek In Ho was my favorite character in the series because he is very dynamic. He picks on Seol and his sister a lot, yet he is very caring. He appears very tough, yet expresses a softer side to him when he plays the piano or when Seol or his sister get into trouble.
The one main character I didn't like as much was Yoo Jeong. He appears mean at the very beginning, then kinda creepy, and then more caring toward Seol. The transitions in his character seemed kinda abrupt. However, that could also be the point to his mysterious character, I dunno.
Overall, I would recommend this one, but maybe not put it at the top of your list.

Almost dropped, but definitely glad I didn't...
I almost dropped this series just because Hyun Jin and Eun Jung were so irritating!! And then Lee Roo Da comes in and seems like she is going to be a total bitch! That was supposed to be the final straw for me...but then I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. Roo Da actually seemed rebellious, but likeable. Subsequently, I started liking the other characters too. The only character I did not like as much through the latter half of the series as I did at the beginning was Do Yoon. He seemed super cute and quirky at the beginning, but did not seem to have the same kind of sparkle towards the end, although I think there are several potential reasons for this (I won't spoil it).The other thing is that I wished they addressed the covid situation a little bit since the series takes place in 2020. Although I don't know exactly what the situation was like in Korea...
Overall, recommend this series for new moms. Additionally, production was FANTASTIC, so anyone looking for some well-done comedic relief moments should pick this one up too!

Overall Great Characters
I found a few of the characters a little annoying, but they all have their redeeming qualities. You have the rich guys Gu Yanzhen and Shen Junshan who have opposing personalities, but believe loyalty and friendship is the most valuable commodity. And then you have Huang Song who comes from much poorer roots, but is high-achieving in his own right and aspires to be successful and support his family. At the center of it all is Xie Liangchen/Xie Xiang who disguises herself as a man to attend the academy. This lends her into ending up in a lot of peculiar situations. Even though she doesn't perform as well as her classmates at first, her bravery shines throughout the series. All in all, I would definitely recommend this series to anyone, particularly those who love drama, action, and some comedic LOL moments.

Underrated
You know a series is good when you keep itching to see the next episode, and this drama did just that! After the first episode, I was surprised that it only received a 7.2 average rating, but as I was watching through the next episodes, I started to see a little bit why. The main characters tend to lack some sense of judgment. However, I liked that the villains had some sort of back story so that they did not seem one-dimensional (...but their characters were a little far-fetched). Still feel that this series deserves better than a 7.2 rating and I would recommend it to people looking for a drama that has a more complex story line.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Watch the first 17 episodes (or at least a scene from ep 14)
I really liked the story through the first 17 episodes, but afterwards it just all got kinda messy. If I were the production team and specifically wanted there to be 22 episodes, I would have spent a few episodes diving into Lu Xi Wei and Xu You Xi’s five-year “love” story instead. The acting wasn’t the best either. I did like the strength in Xu Hai Lin’s, Xi Wei’s, and Fang Qi Xiang’s characters, but the characters generally were fairly one-dimensional. You Xi in particular seemed like a very far fetched character, and Xu Hai Lin was over forgiving of her behavior a lot of the time throughout the series. Nevertheless, watch the scene in episode 14 from 49:08 to 51:22 (you’re welcome ;) )

Characters +, but Interaction Between Them -
This wasn't my favorite drama due to the interaction (or lack thereof) between the characters:1. I thought Xiao Zhou should have been featured more, both as Duo Duo's English tutor and as Fang Yuan's work friend/colleague. Rose could have also been better utilized within the series (i.e. maybe expanding upon the jealousy of Li Xiang's and Duo Duo's feelings for each other).
2. Either Frank should have been found or the kiddos should have told the owner that they lost him.
3. I didn't really get the point of having Mu Mi* and his team in the series.
4. They used arguing as "entertainment value" for the series, but it definitely was not entertaining at most times. Also the amount of times people ended up getting hospitalized seemed rather exaggerated and unrealistic.
5. I wish there were more scenes with Duo Duo and the TFBoys.
However, I still give this series a semi-decent review because production made the overall story seem relatable and the characters as individuals were well drawn out.
*Wayne Liu is excellent in True Colors though

Great Story, but Bland Characters
Pros:1. Story: It was very compelling. There were a lot of unexpected twists and turns that kept me hooked on the series.
2. Music: The music heightened certain emotions (conflict, longing love, etc.) very well.
3. Visual Effects: The flashbacks and blackouts heightened the amount of drama and were well utilized.
Con:
1. Characters: The characters were very one-dimensional and the interactions between some of them seemed to be very similar throughout most of the episodes, which made the series feel rather long. I also felt that the cat, while very very cute, did not add much to the story.

Typical Chinese Drama
This drama tends to have the same problems as other early 2010s drama I've seen. The acting by Joe Chen and Yueyuan Liu (plays Tang Xiao Hui) was spectacular. They were multi-dimensional! The others showed growth in their characters, but otherwise seemed one-dimensional. All of the actors shined though through their interactions with Jason Chen (Yang Guang). Each of the story lines seemed to fit the series very well and the series seemed well paced.I would recommend this series to someone interested in watching something specifically involving family drama with regards to running a business and love triangles. However, I would not recommend this to someone who's tired of the same old thing.
