GREAT CONTENT TO GET INTO.
I honestly love this drama, short but worthwhile and warm at the same time. The drama centers around 3 individuals 2 who are dead and trying to atone for their sins in the living realm and one who struggles with a power that has brought him misfortune his whole life. The storyline I depicted when I first watched the teasers was more a thriller feel but it ended up being way much funnier than I expected. it is very balanced in terms of equality in each genre. There is a sufficient amount of plot twists to make it an interesting drama. it is also very humorous as to not make it feel gloomy, I think Hwang Jung Eum, Choi Won Young and Sung Jae did an amazing job in this. Their previous works are known to be quite humorous and well-acclaimed they elevated that feel into this drama and the romance was heartwarming, it had the whole past life kind of eternal love which is cliche to most but they managed to down tone trivial lines in that kind of genre and make it as realistic as possible.I commend the costume designers too, I loved the modernized hanboks that Wool Ju( Hwang Jung Eum) wore in this drama it really made her character stand out more and even to her character in the drama. it showed the angst she held in her heart over a very long time and although she did change her initial self and goals were all the same.
The cinematography was awesome, shout out to director of cinematography. the music was alright I would have loved a bit more scores in trenching moments but overall they did a good job. The performances were so nice with supporting roles like Jung Da Eun (Kang Yeo Rin) who played a re-incarnated spiritual tree and also Kang Bae's( Sung Jae) love interest.
I think Netflix in terms of k-dramas has a really good standard. Their originals have been good this year with extracurricular, the king; eternal monarch, and now mystic pop-up bar. if you're into the k-drama scene or if you're starting out this is a great drama to get into. WATCH IT.

Romance For The Romantic
Tune in for love is a movie is about 2 teenagers as they grow in the late 1980s in Seoul and their struggle to keep their love for each other even as they age with many odds around them.Firstly, I applaud the performances which were amazing they really embedded the feeling of growing up through the years and the way they kind of went through those experiences with the audience was eye-catching and very interesting. it is very much a romance movie not much of comedy and I could feel the director's mind in the way the scenes where sequenced. The storyline, however, is not much original they did convey it in a very unique way but you could feel and feel the mainstream romance theme and lines in some of the scenes. I do however love the fact that they came from struggling backgrounds and how it affected them in different ways throughout the course of their years. The coming of age theme is very imputed in the story and it goes from teenage delinquency to youthful pleasure all the way to adulthood turmoil up until their early 30s.
One thing I did not understand was the need for them to completely feel like the world was against them being together when it really wasn't. There were some scenes that decisions made would have turned out in a smoother result not only for the characters but for the audience as well. I had my differences on how they went about their relationship at the latter end of the film.
Overall, it was very interesting and its a kind of scenery and fewer lines movie, it kind of hits like that and I love it. Shoutout to the director of cinematography and the director, I really loved the way it was portrayed at various angles and shots and to Kim Go Eun and Jung Hae In who did absolutely wonderful in this title. If you like the portrayal of a relationship with a coming of age theme this is definitely the movie to watch. WATCH IT!

A SMOOTH WATCH
Law school is captivating in almost every way. the plot takes place around a group of students who solve a murder with the help and lead of their daring and shockingly charismatic professor. To start with the plot, it was adequate being set in the premise of murder is almost the story for most legal-based dramas. the pull from this one was the amazing way the cast brought their personal perspectives and connections to the main story making everything flow in perfection. I did not plan on loving this piece when I stumbled upon it with no expectation at all but it leaves you wanting more every episode. The performances were amazing especially Rye Hye Young and Kim Myung Min who displayed such lovely balance in a teacher and student relationship but her ability to really allow her audience to empathize with everything she went through as a student. I feel like a lot of students can relate to feeling inadequate especially in a hyper-pressurized environment in the academic world, surrounded by people who make your hard work look light with a talent for that same craft. This drama definitely represents most of what university or college might look like and it comes with so much more in terms of dating and even feeling pressured to evade moral law in exams and tests.
I loved the soundtrack even if there were like 2 songs, they did more than enough. for anyone who still doesn't know the amazing opening, it's called X by SafiraK and it is a blessing to the OST world. the editing was something I didn't like. the way some scenes were slowed down for dramatic effect proved unnecessary and mediocre.
Overall it was really pleasant, I am petitioning for a season 2 and I will continue to do so. If you love the legal world of dramas or even school life with a bit of murder, this watch will drive you crazy (;)) in a good way. WATCH IT!!!

The storyline centers around a man who lost his nephew on a plane crash and a woman working for the Korean Secret Service, together they uncover the mystery and corruption that caused the plane crash, opening the blinds to a bigger picture, bigger than them. I loved the scenery of the drama I think they invested a lot of time and money into making it look and good as It should be and it seriously paid off. if you're looking for a drama to get you up and down and still make you laugh then you should definitely watch Vagabond

When Springs Come, Will We Be Different?
My Liberation notes is a title that Park Hae Young has blessed us with after the stunning success of My mister. The drama follows the Yeom siblings and a mysterious but charming Mr Gu who all feel trapped in their lives waiting to be freed from the cycle of the mundane.I think what pulls people into this drama is the audience finding pieces of themselves in the 4 leads. From the lack of courage in Mi Jeong her introverted nature but her desire to stir up the courage to do things she never thought possible, To Chang Hee who feels like the world is always giving him the end of the stick and finding ways to chew our friend's ears off as we rant, to Gi Jeong who I hope I am as honest as not just to others but most importantly to myself and the loving Mr Gu who we want to be as mysterious as, where both of us wait for life to punish us at our highs so we don’t get caught off guard and end up worse than we were.
The drama does not come to deliver character development in the traditional way but to allow us to experience how people learn about themselves, through 4 seasons these characters experienced love, death, and loneliness and they fought battles only they could see. It dives into the value of introspection and hope for change. Even up until the last seconds as their pictures entered the screen, I could see them trying to overcome themselves daily, often failing but never giving up.
The cinematography was one of the most unflawed parts of this drama. Just a single scene with the bus as it came and went spoke volumes. From the farm where they toiled to the bustling streets of Seoul where loneliness was at its highest. Each scene stood out with and without dialogue because the perspective from which we watched it was that of great experience and beauty. The music and lighting added great effect to the storytelling of the drama, from angelic vocals to pure acoustic pieces that brought us close to experiencing what they did.
This is my perfect example of a comfort drama, although not perfect in terms of all terms the cast and crew created something that has taught, entertained, and comforted me even as I face the void that life had put me in. As they wake up, go to work, and come home you can see yourself in their little activities. It's them living their lives like each of us does working hard in jobs we don’t like and even if we do like them sometimes feeling underserved, overworked, underpaid, and just to wake up and do it again, why? Because you have to, you live your life just for the sole purpose of survival. I believe Park Hae Young decided to wake us up through this piece and ask us to pursue liberation, even if it feels like just 5 minutes of tiny little seconds of happiness and freedom, do it.
Did they get liberated? That’s for whoever is reading to find out as you watch this title. As for me, I will start my liberation journey and hopefully, see a change and feel that 5 minutes ever-growing each day.

Memorist focuses on the lives of Dong Baek and Han Sun Mi (played by Yoo Seung Hoo and Lee Se Young respectively) and their quest of unraveling secrets from the past as well as seeking vengeance for their loved ones. it also follows the lives of the people around them. a lot on the South Korean police force and minds of serial killers.
What a storyline, common yet unique, and the performances that were amazingly good. Yoo Seung Hoo and Lee Se Young unnie who gave such a thrilling performance to the drama. one thing that really stands out is their commitment to their characters and the way they added more into every plot twist, very emotional yet outstandingly thrilling.
Firstly on the storyline, there are like 70 serial killers, JK, but there are a lot especially in the first 8 episodes before everything focuses on one person. I really like the way they focused on one genre and led us through it with a bit of humor in one or two corners, it shows what the writers wanted their audience to focus on.
On the other hand, the plot twist at the latter episodes seemed a bit forced and unplanned. Out of nowhere a character would appear and weigh in on the decisions of the main cast without the proper background. The climax and reveal would have had more of an impact if the main antagonist was introduced or baited in previous episodes.
Overall, very action-packed with a lot and I mean a lot of plot twists. if you like gasping every 20 seconds I suggest you WATCH THIS!

The Story Of My Life.
Ode to my father describes what a lot of individuals who are titled first child or head of the house goes through, and I being the first child had no better title than to define this review. The story takes place in the middle of the Korean War in the city of Hungnam, North Korea where the US Marines evacuated more than 86,000 individuals, our main lead and his family being one of them. The entire film then follows the promise he made to his father before he went missing to take care of his mother and siblings. Deok Soo (Hwang Jung Min) then lives his life making sure to make his father's promise a reality which costs him everything including his dreams, his passions, and even his will.
As we see him get older there seems to be a withdrawal emotionally and a lack of understanding that his family offers him, in scenes where it has aged having grandchildren and we see their lack of showed love towards him. It reminds me of the loneliness that comes with a huge sacrifice, not only did he not give himself, he was left misunderstood, and not even his children were patient enough to understand where that 'anger' came from. In the final scene of the movie, we see Deok Soo finally decide to sell his store, and when he goes into his room he begins to cry reminiscing the difficulties that came with keeping that promise, how to hurt he had become when he realized he would never see his father again.
One thing that made me cry and sob in this film apart from Hwang Jung Min's performance was the countless stories that were expressed throughout, Although not as heavily themed in the time of war but for families who lack opportunities, immigrant children who have so much responsibility to care for their younger siblings and parents. Deok Soo lived his entire life to service others constantly pushing the limit he would go for family. the only thing he ever did for himself was to fall in love and get married, which is awesome but it was at the expense of almost dying that he even meet the love of his life.
As a child of immigrants, the guilt Deok Soo felt when he lost his sister is the same when you see your parents put their interests, their homes, and sometimes their marriages so they can protect you and give you a better life. Although I might want to pursue other things in life, there are a lot more responsibilities like Deok Soo had, that have to come before my peace of mind.
I loved his story so much, I loved the execution from the cast and those who worked behind the scenes. it's a movie that will be timeless not only showing history in true light but relating to individuals who often go through situations like this. I hope this review urges you more to view this film and appreciate the brilliance behind it.

The storyline was set in pace but there were areas that I could have agreed with less. A lot of holes were in this drama. Some characters were without detail and understanding. I believe they would have spent their time trying to see where they want each character to go and how they would like to translate that to their audience.
They were also many areas lacking concerning the main roles, some scenes were not given as much attention and in some episodes, they would present some kind of epiphany within the cast and never lead up to it leaving the whole concept dead in a careless manner.
I do however applaud their chemistry not only the love interests but as friends, it quite heartwarming. This was my first time seeing Yoo Ah In on-screen on television and maybe I set my expectations too high as I know he's quite acclaimed with burning. Overall, it was quite interesting to a point, the performances were also thrilling and its good content to get in to, I just feel with such an acclaimed cast and storyline, the screenplay would have been a tad better. Watch it!

I think the last drama that made me cry this much was uncontrollably fond. The storyline of the drama is extremely hard to pull of and only a few set of people could tell this story. This cast did an amazing job and I can see why it won a lot of awards and had a lot of recognition. I always look foward to the performances and the screenplay the official soundtrack and the directing. But I got lost in the relationships portrayed in this drama. It gave so much comfort to see not just a family but a neighborhood be so warm and welcoming, not only between the two main characters but with the people surrounding them. A lot of dramas tend to shift from the importance of connection between the leads and their supporting roles and tend to dwell on the things happening around them forgetting the real story of their relationships, but this performance was so deeply connected and given to the audience in such a raw way. Presented in reality, this drama showed the issues that go on in people’s lives and it felt so real, their pain felt so real. They tried their best to pour out the deepest of their emotions and allow the audience to be drowned in it. Everything about this drama is wonderful. A big hand to the actors for their surreal performance I think it’s one of the best melodramas yet. This drama focuses on healing real healing and I loved the fact that the relationship between the two leads was on that line of romantic and yet platonic it’s so hard to find dramas that not only focuses on the chemistry but in the friendship built with love .I could say so much more but that might take away time from you starting this drama! just watch it and appreciate these performances. The first 3 episodes might not appeal to a general crowd but the real essence and treasure is in the latter. Enjoy.

Kairos: An opportune time for action.
Kairos, a blend of realism and fiction with an awesome take on timeslips. The drama takes place around the lives of Kim Seo Jin and Han Ae Ri played by Shin Sung Rok and Lee Se Young respectively, and their drive to constantly change the detrimental future that they continue to face in the hands of time.
Starting off, the performances from the first episode to the last are not to be missed. In terms of quality acting from both main leads, supporting roles, and extras, this drama does not miss a beat. The compelling takes from each actor do not go unnoticed, especially Shin Sung Rok who I did not expect to wow me in terms of how he portrayed the grief and anxiety of a father, a husband, and also a friend. Lee See Young who is not new to the action genre definitely exuded growth as an actor and Ah Bo Hyun who was introduced to a new setting for me in this kind of character, I think he definitely nailed the most important parts of the drama.
The storyline however unfortunately is not as compelling as the performances. I say this coming from a view of repetition. A lot of scenarios and outcomes throughout the drama felt very unvaried in terms of how they would react to the same problem or the reactions they faced when entering a new timeline of issues. I could try to see the view of how it was meant to be taken by the audience. I believe they wanted to express the change of emotions from different characters and not necessarily the actions of the main leads. It was very evident from how different characters stepped onto the main screen when some results were reoccurring. I also believe some reactions within the earlier moments when the main leads met each other were very humane which you don't often see in a lot of fantasy/action dramas. it engaged viewers; very simple but genius.
The cinematography was awesome as well as the effort of the director, I found it amazing at the scene sequencing and the placement of every reaction at every given time and place in the drama. It was beautiful, there was no scene or moment that was left unwrapped which I find common in a lot of dramas in this genre. I loved the big prints of the title I thought it was new and almost cinematic and the use of different filters -rather than the way it would appear in dramas of this genre- when depicting different timelines, was top-notch quality
Overall, the drama was very engaging and if you have not watched it I suggest you do! it's a lot of fun and there are moments of good comic relief so it doesn't just run through on a dark pace if the storyline doesn't keep you going the performances will. So if you're thinking of watching it, WATCH IT!

Friendship Like No Other.
Forbidden dream sets around King Sejong the Great and the building of astronomical science in the Joseon era with his loyal companion Yeong Sil who helps him accomplish this through his intelligence and friendship.Choi Min Sik's performance is Impeccable, I have not seen him in a whole lot but this movie really moved me and it isn't even one of his highest-rated ones. Han Suk Hyu as well, portraying one of the most acted-out kings in Korean film history and yet bringing his originality to the table. Although their chemistry was bubbling, the plot bored me out in the midway. I found it hard keeping up with the outside political scuffle and the dialogues between the support roles. I perceived the lack of attention given to these scenes because conversations between the 2 main leads were so good the expectation for other aspects are meant to be followed but it didn't meet halfway.
I don't think I've ever seen a plot based solely on friendship like this to the depths of it being sacrificial as well. a lot of times dramas and movies would include romance but not this film. I applaud the writers for solely taking us through the build in a society where nobility and poverty are seen as galaxies apart and then you have a king befriend a servant. Not just befriending him but building a relationship (platonic) with so much love and respect for each other, helping each other build dreams, and rooting for each other as they try and make a difference in their harsh reality. it makes me want to be a better friend but also want to surround myself around people who would also replicate this in my life.
Definitely a good watch, it might drag but overall with the right mood it can be a tear-jerker. WATCH IT!
