The story is based on the manga, so the girls' landscape hairstyles on the young men and the strange Japanese-manga style, where the actors sometimes look like jerks, affected machines programmed for complete playback, were to be expected. I prayed that the film would not be much of a comedy, but rather a drama, because the bigger the Asian, here Japanese mango comedy, the bigger the farce for the European viewer. Unfortunately, she was. The prankster is sometimes even cute, how she was brought to the top. Sena and Ichijo, the two main characters with whom I eventually got along, at least got a little serious at the end, but otherwise an average Japanese film for me (I evaluate from the point of view of Japanese films based on manga)



Příběh vychází z mangy, takže se zase daly čekat ty dívčí pejzové účesy u mladých mužů a zvláštní japonsko-mangový styl, kdy herci někdy vypadají jako panáci, afektované stroje naprogramované na naprosté přehrávání. Modlil jsem se, aby film nebyl moc komedie, ale spíše drama, protože čím větší asijská, tady japonská mangokomedie, tím pro evropského diváka vetšinou ještě větší fraška. Bohužel, byla. Fraškovist někdy až roztomilá, jak byla dovedena až na vrchol. Sena a Ichijo, dvě hlavní postavy, s kterými jsem se nakonec sžil, alespoň na konci trošku zvážněly, ale jinak pro mě průměrný japonský snímek (hodnotím úhlem pohledu na japonské filmy, kde předlohou je manga)

To, že to takto kluci zahráli, bylo právě tím kořením celého snímku. Mladí Korejci s dlouhými východoasijskými pejzy, mírně herecky neohrabaní, naivně roztomilí, tomu dali ten správný korejský říz, hudba solidní a začínající cit mezi dvěma dopívajícími mladými muži je pro vždy bonus navíc.

Another film based on the manga belongs to that group of Japanese films where you have to search hard for the gay component and imagine it. It's really surprising that the Japanese are able to balance from one mango extreme (eg the great film The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, where a gay blackmails a straight man with sex) to this film (or Love Stage), where the viewer has to sweat at least a little bromance alone. That's why I'm deducting points for the story, the greater romanticism "among the pieces of dismembered bodies" was missing there. But the movie is not bad if we judge everything according to the manga. If it weren't for the manga, my point of view would seriously lean toward a worse rating. The acting is very solid and the processing is spot on. And finally, a trifle. I've never seen a man's fingers longer than Osada Masaki's, which may impress some ...


Další film podle mangy patří do té množiny japonských snímků, kde gay složku musíte usilovně hledat a domýšlet si ji. Je opravdu s podivem, že Japonsci jsou schopni balancovat do jednoho mangovského extrému (např. skvělý snímek The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, kde gay vydírá heteráka sexem) až po tento film (nebo Love Stage), kde si divák musí alespoň malou bromanci vypotit sám. Proto ubírám body za příběh, ta větší romantičnost "mezi kusy rozčtvrcených těl" mi tam chyběla. Film to ale není špatný, když vše posuzujeme dle mangy. Kdyby to nebyla manga, tak by se můj úhel pohledu povážlivě naklonil k horšímu hodnocení. Herectví velmi solidní a zpracování jakbysmet. A ještě na závěr drobnost. Delší mužské prsty, než má Osada Masaki a které mohou některým imponovat, jsem ještě neviděl ...

Škoda, ale takovéto "řešení" existuje, i když většinou přinese jen neštěstí a trápení. Ale jinak to byl film velmi hezký, poutavý, sledoval jsem jedním dechem ...

Awarded many times at smaller and local festivals, the film is about Filipino-Chinese student Ken (played by Rowi Du), who discovers his true identity and confesses his love for his friend and childhood friend Mike (Raphael Cruz). A pleasant, deep, too long head shave for me, but I understand that this is how the author wanted to convey it and that it is the true essence of the film.



Na menších a lokálních festivalech mnohkrát oceněný film o filipínsko-čínském studentovi Kenovi (hraje Rowi Du), který objevuje svou pravou identitu a vyznává lásku svému kamarádovi a příteli z dětsví Mikovi (Raphael Cruz). Příjemné, hluboké, na mě až moc dlouhé holení hlavy, ale chápu, že to takto autor chtěl sdělit a že je to tou pravou podstatou filmu.

Even though the film is short and doesn't speak much, the minimalistic story, it communicated what it had. A young man and his loneliness, he doesn't have a solid permanent relationship unlike China now in America, his mother is gone, the memories and although the form could have been better (the dancing in the bar could have been shorter), a pretty solid short for me


I když je film krátký a mluví se v něm málo, minimalistický příběh, sdělil, co měl. Mladík a jeho osamělost, pevný trvalý vztah na rozdíl od Číny nyní v Americe nemá, matka pryč, vzpomínky a i když ta forma mohla být lepší (to tancování v baru mohlo být kratší), pro mě docela solidní kraťas

Using cinematic-mystical images in the second half, he travels a lot to other dimensions, but no matter how hard I tried, this time, unlike other similar projects, the film did not touch me so much, although the film also collected some awards at various thematic film festivals. Overall, I rate 60% (it is interesting that at ČSFD I agree with the local pre-evaluator - three stars, with 60%, here at GT he already rates the same film much worse, below average).



Obtížný film na vnímání a přijetí toho, co tím chtěli tvůrci, především režisér říci. Pomocí filmově-mystických obrazů ve druhé půli zajíždí hodně do jiných dimenzí, ale ač jsem se snažil, tentokrát se mě, na rozdíl od jiných podobných projektů, snímek nedotkl tolik, ač sbíral film i nějaká ocenění na různých tématických filmových festivalech. Celkově hodnotím 60% (je zajímavé, že na ČSFD se s 60% shoduji se zdejším předhodnotitelem-tři hvězdy, zde na GT už hodnotí stejný film daleko hůře, podprůměrně).

The main character of this psychological thriller is the fragile youth Vee, raised in the so-called protected education of ignorance by an apostolic nun, who is robbed of his innocence by the three Dong siblings (the beautiful Filipino Migo de Vera, who also plays the main role in the new series Inn Love - premiere May 2021), then Jay, the lecherous youngest brother, and Jennifer, the bastard, who abuses their witch mother's charms. Vee is gradually abused by all three siblings for sex and blackmail.
This series, the second series of which should be released in the summer, is a far cry from BL productions from university faculties. I think that it could be made into a much bigger drama by omitting a bit of useless "magic" for me. But it still had the power and much desired BL otherness and I didn't expect it to be so engaging. Processing and visuals were probably the best of all evaluation criteria for me, when the acting falters a little. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for some change and new pleasant faces in BL production series.


Hlavní postavou tohoto psychologického thrilleru je křehký mladík Vee, vychováván v takzvané chráněné výchově k nevědomosti apoštolskou jeptiškou, kterému ukradnou jeho nevinnost tři sourozenci Dong (krásný Filipínec Migo de Vera, který hraje hlavní roli i v novém seriálu Inn Love - premiéra květen 2021), dále Jay, nejmladší chlípný bratr a mrcha Jennifer, která zneužívá kouzla jejich matky čarodějnice. Vee je postupně zneužíván všemi třemi sourozenci k sexu a vydírání.
Tento seriál, kdy v létě by měla vyjít druhá série, je na hony vzdálen BL produkcím z VŠ fakult. Myslím, že by z toho šlo udělat ještě daleko větší drama s vynecháním pro mě trošku zbytečných "kouzel". Ale i tak to mělo sílu a tolik žádanou BL jinakost a nečekal jsem, že to bude až tak poutavé. Zpracování a vizuál bylo pro mě asi nejlepší ze všech kritérií hodnocení, kdy herectví malinečko pokulhávalo. Doporučuji všem, kteří hledají v seriálech BL produkce nějakou změnu a na pohled nové příjemné tváře.

A terrible film about "HUMAN IMPERFECTIONS OF NATURE". Terrible, depressing, naturalistic, yet slowly flowing, like a vast delta of a great river emptying into the ocean. I am not surprised at what the translator Matt Bianco writes in the comments, to whom I would like to thank not only for the subtitles, but also for taking on such a difficult film in the first place. You can read the content in the Movie Details and I also recommend looking at the top twenty Plot Keywords on IMDb.
The gay component is small, but this time it doesn't matter at all. There will certainly be those who will not understand the film and will condemn only the "skin" - the actions of physically and mentally damaged beings, with a different sexual orientation or preferences. It is only under this skin that the true tragedy of the creatures who "STILL LIVE" is hidden in the lowest level of human society, and which was so perfectly portrayed by the Korean filmmakers with the help of actors and other film tools (in South Korea, meat is wrapped in newspaper to absorb those toxic substances from the printing ink? It felt like we were in North Korea...). I deduct a point for the processing because the hump of "Jung" was a little different every time.
I'll borrow one sentence from Ketri from ČSFD, which seems to me to be absolutely descriptive and perfect for the film: "An incredibly beautiful film that will leave you with guaranteed depression for a very long time."



Hrůzný film o "LIDSKÝCH NEDOKONALOSTECH PŘÍRODY". Strašný, depresivní, naturalistický, a přitom pomalu tekoucí, jako do oceánu ústící rozlehlá delta velké řeky. Nedivím se, co píše v komentu překladatel Matt Bianco, kterému dodatečně děkuji nejen za titulky, ale i za to, že se vůbec na pochopení tak těžkého filmu ujal. Obsah si přečtete v Podrobnostech k filmu a doporučuji se též podívat na dvacítku Plot Keywords na IMDb.
Gay složky je málo, ale tentokrát to vůbec nevadí. Určitě se najdou tací, co snímek nepochopí a budou odsuzovat jen tu "slupku" - jednání bytostí poškozených tělesně, duševně, s jinou sexuální orientací či preferencemi. Teprve pod touto slupkou se skrývá ta pravá tragédie tvorů, kteří "TAKÉ JEŠTĚ ŽIJÍ", a to v nejspodnějším patře lidské společnosti a kterou tak dokonale vykreslili korejští tvůrci pomocí herců a dalších filmových nástrojů (v Jižní Koreji se balí maso do novin, aby nasálo ty toxické látky z tiskařské barvy? Zdálo se mi, jako bychom byli v Severní Koreji ...). Za zpracování ubírám ještě bodík za to, že hrb "Junga" byl pokaždé trošku jiný.
Vypůjčím si jednu větu od Ketri z ČSFD, která se mi zdá ke snímku naprosto vystihující a dokonalá: "Neuvěřitelně krásný film, z kterého budete mít zaručenou depresi na hodně dlouhou dobu."

After the totally depressing film Muge, which I rated very highly here yesterday, another "weird" film is on the agenda, this time a short film from Korea. I am surprised that such films are made and that it comes from a landscape that one would not expect...
The main character of the father in all three short stories is played by the Korean actor Lee Sang Woo (he was 39 years old at the time of filming in 2010, the film was presented at two festivals in the same year, it was not distributed until five years later)

1) My Father's Desire - is about a couple of young high school students who are thinking about a future together, eventually the father starts having sex with his son's friend and the son takes nasty revenge for it...
2) My Father's Truth - a young man claims that he was raped by a friend, he is upset about it, he finally comes out with the truth, he was raped by his friend's father ...
3) My Father's Secret - about a father who discovers semi-nude pictures of men and a gay magazine in his young son and physically punishes him quite indiscriminately, at the same time the father has an encoded love for men.

I considered the ratings for all the short stories together.



Po totálně-depresivním filmu Muge, který jsem zde včera hodnotil velmi vysoko, je na pořadu dne další "divný", tentokráte povídkový snímek z Koreji. Jsem zaskočen, že se takovéto filmy točí a že pochází z krajiny, ze které by to člověk nečekal ...
Hlavní postavu otce ve všech třech povídkách hraje korejský herec Lee Sang Woo (v době natáčení v r. 2010 měl 39 let, film byl v tom samém roce prezentován na dvou festivalech, distribuován byl až o pět let později)

1) My Father’s Desire - je o páru mladých středoškoláků, kteří uvažují o společné budoucnosti, nakonec začne otec sexovat s přítelem svého syna a syn se za to ošklivě pomstí ...
2) My Father’s Truth - mladík tvrdí, že ho znásilnil kamarád, má z toho depky, nakonec jde s pravdou ven, znásilnil jej kamarádův otec ...
3) My Father’s Secret - o otci, který zjistí u malého syna polonahé obrázky mužů a gay časopis a dost nevybíravě jej fyzicky trestá, přitom je v otci zakódovaná láska k mužům.

Hodnocení jsem zvážil za všechny povídky dohromady.

One of the other low-budget Pinoy production series caught my attention this time with the story, less with its sometimes long-winded processing, repetition and stretching. Among the actors, I was particularly interested in three characters - Kai (the hard-working nineteen-year-old Ian Rosapan, Andre (John Padilla, he sang a song for the series and the film) and Drixler, perhaps also the mother, who, despite the other already weak acting performances, made it to seven for me. One , two, maybe even more trans - I didn't understand what significance they have for the story, in my opinion none and thus the viewer can think that the Philippine countryside is riddled with transsexuals in large numbers.


Jeden z dalších nízkorozpočtových seriálů pinoy produkce mě tentokráte zaujal příběhem, méně už jeho někdy rozvláčným zpracováním, opakováním a protahováním. Z herců mě zaujaly především tři postavy - Kai (snaživý devatenáctiletý Ian Rosapan, Andre (John Padilla, nazpíval pro seriál i filmovou píseň) a Drixler, snad ještě i matka, kteří to za ostatní již slabší herecké výkony dotáhli u mě na sedmičku. Jedna, dvě, možná i více trans - nechápal jsem, jaký mají pro příběh význam, dle mě žádný a takto si divák může myslet, že filipínský venkov je v hojném počtu prošpikován transsexuály.

I gave the story a higher rating because it deals with a hot and modern topic, the acting was almost perfect in relation to the assessment of the life together of two men, the processing was subtle, decent so that the series could be acceptable to most viewers, but on the other hand " "tenderness" between the two men, between whom there is a real age difference of 15 years, was completely believable, natural, not two wax figures pushed together for a "pussy". Taiwan simply continues to prove that it belongs to the very top in the production of films and series with LGBT themes, and not only in Asia.


Jak bych charakterizoval tento taiwanský seriál jedním slovem? ROZTOMILÝ. Roztomilý prakticky ve všem (snad kromě zvuku). Příběhu jsem zvýšil hodnocení i za to, že se týká ožehavého a novodobého tématu, herectví bylo téměř dokonalé ve vztahu k posouzení společného žití dvou mužů, zpracování bylo jemné, decentní tak, aby seriál mohl být přijatelný pro většinu diváků, na druhé straně ale "něžnosti" mezi oběma muži, mezi nimiž je skutečný věkový rozdíl 15 let, byly naprosto uvěřitelné, přirozené, žádní dva voskoví panáci přiražení k sobě kvůli "pusince". Taiwan prostě dál dokazuje, že patří mezi nejužší špičku při výrobě filmů a seriálů s LGBT tématikou, a to nejen v Asii.

One of the two "shining" faces of the Gameboys series, the twenty-year-old actor Elijah Canlas, plays the main role of the seventeen-year-old journalism student Martin in this film, and as Karcikarel already writes, he played it excellently (he won the Jury Award for acting performance at the PP4 Awards Night 2018 festival, where the film was also awarded for best screenplay, cinematography and feature film). The "negative" TV reporter Lawrence was played by the three-year-old handsome Filipino Enzo Pineda and was portrayed very solidly. This controversial film about sexual harassment is a glimpse into the disillusioned soul of a young student who adores his idol. I think that there are a number of people in the world who "endure" the harassment of their idol, or perhaps a producer, in order to get the role of a toadstool, they simply do not want to let go of their possible chance at any cost. Finally, the newly filmed Thai series Call It What You Want is about this, for which I wrote a review a few days ago. The English hardsubs are quite small and harder to read, and I believe that in time someone will find separate subtitles so that those who can't speak English at all can translate them. It would be a shame not to see a movie with such good acting.




Jedna ze dvou "rozzářených" tvářiček seriálu Gameboys, dvacetiletý herec Elijah Canlas, zde v tomto filmu hraje hlavní roli sedmnáctiletého studenta žurnalistiky Martina a jak už píše Karcikarel, zahrál ji výborně (získal Cenu poroty za herecký výkon na festivalu PP4 Awards Night 2018, kde snímek byl ještě oceněn za nejlepší scénář, kameru a celovečerní film). "Negativního" TV reportéra Lawrence si střihl třecetiletý sympatický Filipínec Enzo Pineda a byla ztvárněna velmi solidně. Tento kontroverzní film o sexuálním obtěžování je nahlédnutím do rozčarované duše mladého studenta, zbožňujícího svůj idol. Myslím si, že ale na světě existuje celá řada těch, kteří "přetrpí" obtěžování svého idolu, nebo třeba producenta, aby získali roli nějaké muchomůrky, prostě za žádnou cenu nechtějí pustit svou případnou šanci. Nakonec je o tom čerstvě natočený thajský seriál Call It What You Want, ke kterému jsem psal před pár dny recenzi. Anglické hardsuby jsou dosti malé a hůře čitelné a věřím, že časem někdo najde samostatné titulky, aby si je mohli přeložit ti, kteří anglicky neumí vůbec. Byla by to škoda, nevidět film s tak dobrým hereckým výkonem.

It's 1992, and a Japanese film deals with a marriage of convenience, a marriage of convenience. I am surprised by the openness and the fact that this volume is not figuratively lynched, dishonored and offered a cinematic solution to "how it should be right". The picture is interesting, actually, if it weren't for the style, phones, cars, hairstyles, I would easily believe that it was filmed even now or just a few years ago and not almost thirty years ago. The acting is excellent, especially the characters of Shoko and Kon Fujishima, the overall impression is surprisingly very good and I also want to thank karcikarl for the cz subtitles.


Jsme v roce 1992 a v japonském filmu se řeší sňatek z rozumu, manželství ve lži. Jsem překvapen otevřeností a tím, že se tento svazek obrazně nelynčuje, nedehonestuje a nenabízí se filmové řešení, "jak by to mělo být správně". Snímek je zajímavý, vlastně nebýt toho stylu, telefonů, aut, účesů, bych klidně uvěřil, že bylo natočeno i nyní nebo jen před páry lety a ne skoro před třiceti. Herectví výborné, především postav Shoko a Kon Fujishimy, celkový dojem překvapivě velmi dobrý a ještě chci poděkovat karcikarlovi za cz titulky.
