This is one of those romcom dramas that really defines what it takes to be a romantic comedy.
In reality, it made more sense on the comedic part of the drama. Sure, the romance was there but I think I had more of a good laugh. JJS did good with the comedic parts and GHJ is GHJ so we all know how natural she is when delivering a character for a drama.
What I didn't really like is the love triangle part of the story. I think they kind of dragged it around a lot and it didn't sit well with me. But the characters made me laugh so it kind of balanced it out, I guess?
Oh, and I also especially loved the storylines of the 2 mothers. That was definitely entertaining.

I may be biased with this review but how can I not be? Everything was perfect.I always have been a fan of Kim Soo Hyun ever since I saw how a good actor he is in "Moon Embracing the Sun". This was his first drama after he got out of enlistment and I can dare say that he picked the right one. Well, he first had a cameo at "Hotel Del Luna" but that is another story. He is a great actor, I knew that all along and this drama highlighted it more. Seo Ye Ji has always been good so imagine my excitement when I found out they were in a project together. Add Oh Jung Se to the mix and we have one of the greatest trios we will love in KDramaland.
On to the story: "It's okay not to be okay" depicts the ways of how people cope with their inner selves. The title even suggests that it's okay to not be strong all the time. That everyone is broken, the only difference would be how we show it to the world. Gang Tae and Moon Young had the perfect chemistry but for me Sang Tae stole the show. Sang Tae gave the show its heart. He was the trio's glue. Gang Tae always thought unconsciously that his brother was a burden but the thing is his brother can sense what he's feeling. It's ironic that a person who seems like the broken one in front of the world is actually the one who understands what the "normal people" are going through.
Don't let me start with the OST. The songs are all perfect and it had retention. That's one of the criteria when I watch a drama, the songs should always hold meaning and that it should stick with me. Stick meaning that whenever I would hear the particular song, I would immediately think of the drama fondly.
The fairy tales for children made for the drama, which was "penned" by Moon Young's character also was perfect. I really enjoyed watching this drama and this is easily one of my fave 2020 KDramas.

Does this make you uncomfortable?Taking a break from all my Chinese drama historical marathon/reviews to finally review this drama. This is probably Kyungsoo's first historical drama so I had to watch it. I was a fan of sageuk dramas before I enjoyed watching historical Chinese dramas.
STORY:
This is a story of a crown prince, Lee Yul (Do Kyungsoo) who is cold and perfectionist that doesn't really get along with everyone in the palace due to him opposing what they say and telling them what's on his mind. He is intelligent that even though he kind of is rude, the can navigate his way out of trouble by using his wits against them. People who didn't like him attempted to assassinate him and he survived (no surprise there). He then loses his memories and there he meets Hong Shim (Nam Ji Hyun). They met when a law was passed for all unmarried me and women should find their spouse or else will suffer the consequences. Fortunately since he lost his memory, Hong Shim concocted a plot to let Lee Yul marry her not knowing that he is the crown prince. With that they lived as husband and wife in their village which was hilarious. And as stories go, they fell for each other...of course. Since this is a historical drama, politics will once again play a role in the story. I liked the premise as well as the ending although I would've liked to see moments of them as an engaged or married couple.
ACTING/CAST:
I know how good Kyungsoo is so this isn't much of a surprise. Though it's funny that his character here appears to be close to his real personality. The drama is also well-casted and this was the first time I've seen Seun Ho in a drama and I could say that he's adorable and likeable. Nam Ji Hyun also is okay in this drama. This is the second drama I've seen her act.
MUSIC:
Unfortunately, I did not recall any OSTs of this drama so I can only review the music used as the background in the scenes and I guess it's okay.
REWATCH VALUE:
You can rewatch this if you like, you can also pass.

Shin Hye Sun's acting does not surprise me. Her crying scenes have always been so natural and her acting like a teenager with an adult body is interesting to watch. There was definitely also chemistry between SHS and Yang Se Jong.
There were sad moments that is masked by the female lead's optimism and also moments where the male lead really portrayed being in seclusion so well due to his regrets. This is a healing drama that helps two biologically 30 year olds to grow and mature as they have been stuck in time when they were 17. I liked the fact that they tied loose ends and gave the leads the ending they deserve.

So I decided to watch this because the first drama I've seen with Xing Zhao Lin and Liang Jie was their remake of Fated to Love You and I can't deny the chemistry they have. Apparently, this is the drama that started it all. This is the drama that let everyone know that they have this amazing chemistry.STORY:
This drama had a strong premise though it is not new in the Chinese drama world that they love their time travelling shenanigans. Tan Er (Liang Jie) suddenly travels back in time one night when she was in danger and is trapped in the body of a timid, noble lady Xiao Tan who is then newly betrothed to the 8th prince Lian Cheng (Xing Zhao Lin). Unfortunately she is in love with his older brother. What's hilarious about this drama is the contrast between Tan Er and Xiao Tian. She really made me laugh when she was walking around as Tan Er especially while her maid Jing Xin was so clueless in everything that's happening. How Tan Er is taking revenge for Xiao Tian and how she puzzles Lian Cheng with the fact that sometimes she likes him but sometimes she's aloof. While I liked 3/4 of the drama, I didn't like the last arc of this drama. It made me confused and I think injecting that story into their story to prove that they've been fated for hundreds or thousands of years is not the smoothest transition in a drama.
ACTING/CAST:
The cast are over-all great and let's just say that Xing Zhao Lin and Liang Je's chemistry is a gift that keeps on giving.
MUSIC:
I loved the opening song it's in my playlist
REWATCH VALUE:
Yes. I've already seen this twice.

This for me is a gem among all low budget historical dramas out there. I'm very glad I found this dramaSTORY:
This follows a noble lady Hua Rong (Zhao Zhao Yi) who sought after adventures so she left her hometown to go experience life. She also got tried to get out of a fixed engagement as well. She then meets the famous pirate Qin Shang Cheng (Yuan Hao) in one of her adventures and she then ends up being held captive in the island he governs and eventually have a marriage with him against her will. A one night marriage to be in fact because she tries her best to get out of the island and out of her husband's radar. Their adventure begins and it's too hilarious. The cast involved in the story are all hilarious. What I really loved is that the story is unconventional. I haven't seen a historical drama about pirates so far. This would be the first one. And the chemistry between the leads? PERFECT. I've seen bits of behind the scenes videos and they really look good together. I even think that they were either really good actors OR they're dating in real life.
ACTING/CAST:
The perfect cast in my opinion. The chemistry between the leads and the 2 supporting actors are impeccable
MUSIC:
The opening song had a recall also.
REWATCH VALUE:
Yes! Especially that there's a season 2 coming and I'm happy that they kept all of the main casts. I hope it's not a retelling though. I hope it's a continuation. I'm scared because the team behind this is also behind Well dominated love who had a re-telling as its season 2 so I'm hoping it's not. I'm excited though.

I chanced upon this drama as I was looking for something to watch and I'm glad I did.STORY:
Crime solving in a historical drama? yes. Gender Bender? YES. Squad? Count me in.
Maiden Holmes is not that mind blowing drama and it definitely is not that serious crime solving drama we expect it to BUT it is entertaining enough to devote your time to. Suci (Sebrina Chen) is an officer in the historical times who disguises as male in order to work under the radar while solving her clan's murder. She is smart, tough, and observant all the values of a strong, independent woman. She then meets Xiao Yan Zhi (Zhang Ling He) who is undercover while on a mission in another part of the kingdom. Their story begins there. Yan Zhi eventually finds out that she is female and develops feelings for her. What I liked about the story is that there is no unnecessary conflict between Yan Zhi and his brother the emperor. In fact, the ministers of the court are most of the brother's enemies. It was refreshing to see brothers trusting each other in a historical drama. What made me laugh out loud is the fact that the person Suci considers as her hero is actually Yan Zhi. Imagine saying good things only to be be heard by the person you're admiring. I love their squad. They all have equal parts of the story.
ACTING/CAST:
The leads definitely have chemistry and it is surprising to find out that this is Zhang Ling He's debut. He acts naturally and isn't awkward with his scenes with Sebrina Chen. Actually, he really reminds me of a young Lee Min Ho but better. I don't know, I have a love-hate relationship with LMH's acting lol. Even the other casts in the squad are okay. They had this synergy which I appreciate very much.
MUSIC:
I love the opening song of this drama. It is rare for me to recall an OST of a Chinese drama compared to KDramas.
REWATCH VALUE:
Yes.

I liked the drama and the female lead sometimes reminds me of Park Shin Hye. The leads' chemistry is also natural which is a plus.

I started this drama because I saw that this was a lighthearted one and I was curious. It seems simple and a breeze to watch., the premise being a rich, bright, and optimistic, naive girl Go Ah Ra who was supposed to be married cut her marriage short when she was left with bankruptcy, her father's death, and all the shenanigans. She runs away takes the money she has to start her life somewhere and look for Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (twinkle, twinkle little star) who has been supportive of her. There she meets the male lead, Sun Woo Jun (Lee Jae Wook) because she lost all her money as she met an accident so she was a bit dependent on him. What I liked about the drama is that their chemistry reminds me of Nodame Cantabile which I love very much. The story is simple, funny....nothing new there. What confused me though is the ending. It was supposed to be a lighthearted drama, sure there were conflicts here and there but the fact that they injected the illness is just plain weird. Plus, letting the female lead think that he's been dead the whole time (for 5 years) suffering from heartbreak then returning like nothing happened? I dunno, it seems the ending is a bit rushed. I guess this drama is okay. Not much from the plot but the premise is that the male lead who is a doctor and the female lead who is a popular actress apparently are engaged due to their families. They try to walk out of the engagement and meet each other unexpectedly when the female lead was hospitalized with her as her doctor. She's attracted and later realizes he is her fiance. It had moments, but the plot didn't really stick to me.
