Very sweet and heart-fluttering. The novel was quite steamy, but the drama toned things down tastefully while maintaining the same swoon-worthiness. Very nicely done. It will give you butterflies and touch your heart.

Their easygoing buddy, Guan Fang (I believe that’s his name), proved to be the real tough guy! Really funny as Gu Ran thinks he’s the one who scared off the bullies.

Breakthrough episode

This episode was outstanding and gave me what I needed in order to root for the mental FL and the taciturn, angry FL. I finally got some understanding of the deep emotional trauma that’s behind the FL’s lead confusing behavior. The acting was top-tier. Yang Yang was pretty impressive too in this episode. He jumped into hero mode like a Hollywood action star.

Brought me to tears

Sang Zhi’s confession about her longtime love for Duan Jiaxu literally brought me to tears. The deep feeling in his eyes was just beautiful! Outstanding acting. Very well done.

The Best Wingman(woman) Ever!

Duan Jia Xu was so considerate of Sang Zhi’s feelings. The lengths he went to to clear the air. WowwwAlso, Sang Zhi’s hair looked so gorgeous this episode as she was walking to meet Jia Xu for their date in that super cute black dress. Zhao Lusi’s best look right there!

Kisses we’ve been waiting for

This episode finally delivered the toe -curling mutual kisses we’ve been waiting for. Both leads bring it! They are so good together. Previously, we saw him force-kiss her, which was hot, NGL. But, consent and mutual desire for each other is far hotter. Their chemistry is insane.

Hair-caught-in-button kiss

So many great scenes and moments. Heart-fluttering hair-caught-in-his-button kiss scene was very well done.

Bathing Together

The Director really pulled out the stops in this episode, giving us a fresh and new love scene that I personally have never seen in a cdrama. “Circle of Love” had a kinkier, less endearing bathing scene between the leads. But, the bathing scene here in “Butterflied Lover” is between a married couple who love each other deeply. It’s so beautiful. I watched and rewatched a million times.

How to hand out fliers

The kids lose their money on vacation and have to hand out fliers to earn money. Gu Ran comes up with the funniest, easiest, and best way to do it.

Big Brother is watching

Sang Yan comes to Yihe to check out the situation with little sister’s boyfriend. Punches are thrown. Hilarious epilogue. Really funny.

Hormones are racing

Our boy wastes no time asking for what he wants as soon as they reach official GF/BF status. Heart-fluttering! The essence of the bedroom scene is very true to the sexy original novel, but still retained a sweetness to it and a believable awkwardness because they are both first-timers in a relationship.

Enter the Fiancée

We meet the FL’s love rival, the fiancée—very beautiful and sweet. How is this triangle going to unfold? ML seems indifferent but tolerant and polite to her. She doesn’t seem like a vixen. What exactly is their relationship?

Quirky, Charming Nephew

ML’s quirky and charming nephew adds a lightness to the heavy plot and sexual tension we’ve seen from the leads. Nephew is funny and adorable. We don’t want to see him get hurt. He’s an innocent.

Attention Getting

Episode 1 starts off strong and is extremely sexy and attention-getting. The visuals aren’t so great though. The stylist dropped the ball with the ML’s eyebrows—completely overdone—and the FL’s dresses are so ugly . The good acting makes up for it though.

She Did a Number On Him

The deep anger the ML has towards the FL clearly conveys how deeply she affected him. He loves her still, but also wants to punish her.
