i loved the acting. my oppa, kang Ji hwang is an amazing actor and played both the nasty looking and suave looking sides very well. The supporting actors did very well, Yuri was convincing. The story concept was realistic, however the details were not. In most stories Ji Hwangs character would have been fired before the halfway point but as the main character in the story, he could do what he wanted.
It is a comedy and it makes you laugh, but be prepared to watch some slapstick because thats what it comes down to. although there are poor jokes, penis innuendos, and other tom foolery, runway cop is chuck full of man eye candy (with their shirts off!!) so watch just for that.
As a Ji Hwang fan this is a must see! seeing him in a fat suit with great fat makeup made me love him even more. I squealed the whole movie and at the end got a bloody nose. no matter how poor the storyline was it was a worthwhile watch for me and i will probably rewatch the end a few times.

What I liked was the honesty in the characters. As a true dramanista, I am always looking for the scheming friend, the evil mother, the rat in the group but there was none of that. The characters literally said out loud exactly what they felt, and it was refreshing. Narimiya Hiroki is an awesome actor! This type of character for him is not new (Yankee-kun to Megane-chan) but he is so believable even if you do see his wrinkles. He really brought the main character to life. Although the other supporting characters were to be stereotypical, they played their parts very well and I forgot i was watching actors at times. I must admit that started this because I love Mizushima Hiro. As much as I loved to watch him in this movie, his character fell flat. It could be the fault of the writers, but his character seemed under developed or maybe the character was supposed to be vicious/crazy but Hiro couldn’t commit to it. IDK. I may blame the writers because they introduced a lot of characters that have no development, no story line and then randomly appeared/ disappeared.
The main question on my mind while watching, “Why are they using fully grown men to play middle schoolers?” I know some of those dudes are in their 30’s! I mean these dudes had full facial hair but playing 15-17 year olds??!! I also couldn’t understand how some characters were not getting physically stronger with all the fights, like how are you remaining so weak but you can still run your mouth? Not to mention how cool the parents were with all of this, your son wants to become a delinquent and you say “ok!”?. To top it all off, there is a sudden sorrowful scene out of nowhere that causes major changes. (I had the stupid face on because I didn’t really see it coming).
There were certainly loose ends, unraveled strings, and frayed stitches, but it wasn’t boring. For a story that seems meant to tell young boys “life is short don’t waste it” I think it does a pretty decent job. However it gets a fat F for encouraging ruthless violence for younger ages. I, however am not in that demographic and anything that gives me a little eye candy while entertaining me, I say “bring it on!”. I do recommend the movie for a break from the complex story lines, the plotting and the scheming found in many of the dramas we see. Overall: Lots of cool real fights, loads of excitement.

This is a rather serious drama, with animal surgery and a lot of animal topics that I didnt even know exsisted. Not much comedy, and a slight ( and I mean slight) bit of unrequited romance/ longing. Some of the major themes were: the little man fighting the big company, taking responsibility for your own life, compassion, and fighting your fears. I didnt like the ending because I wanted some people to get together (but oh well).

The working theory is that this chick goes back in time, inuyasha style, bringing modern ideas and a knowledge of how history will play out. I really enjoyed how the main female lead was head strong the whole time, and how she was inventive. I also really liked how it showed the two main characters loving each other and spending time together. This is one of the very first times I have ever seen a lead couple trust and be completely honest with each other- I thought it was wonderful. Get ready for a lot of overacting, fake laughter, bad hair pieces, backstabbing and just melodrama. The acting was poor for most characters but the main actors seemed to nail it.
No matter how much I liked the leading couple the plots were essentially the same as all other historical dramas. The palace maids are shady, the eunuchs need bribing and all of the concubines are scheming to get their kids ahead of the rest. The female lead kind of got annoying with her flawless trust in everyone who shook her hand getting her into situations where she nearly dies. I mean really how many times can you fall for the same tricks?
At anyrate this drama is long but it has some cool fights, and keeps you interested because it seems to move at a good pace. I only really had to skip 4 episodes and it had a really good ending that makes you want to know more. There is a lot of romance and not a lot of comedy, but it wasn’t very dark themed. Take some time and watch when you have a chance.
p.s. the lip syncing on all of the songs was just God awful- i mean really!!?
p.p.s. the fighting was really fake looking too.

The good: In at least 4 different episodes I had laughing fits, the uncomfortable nature of the comedy in the beginning had me literally rolling on the floor. How hot is No Min Woo? I needed a few more fanservice shots, but we have a topless No Min Woo, a wet No Min Woo and a guitar playing No Min Woo. No Min Woo was so believable, that I thought he was playing a mentally challenged adult. But No Min Woo is not the only actor that stood out, the whole supporting cast was really good with few exceptions. I felt as if every character in this story had some development, change or epiphany, and unlike many other dramas the change was so gradual, realistic and well planned. In real life every event or situation we encounter challenges our way of thinking and sometimes our mode of operation causing us to evaluate ourselves- I liked that the characters also went through the same. The ending was sweet, but it should have taken 2 more episodes to complete.
The Bad: The first episode turned me away from this drama because the main female lead appeared to be manipulative (but she wasn’t).The second male lead looked so old in some shots and I could not connect with his acting plus occasionally Yang JinSung’s face looked frozen (maybe it was the makeup used?).
I would really recommend this drama as a rom-com that is funny, a little raunchy, written for folks over 17, and No Min Woo stans . The story has a great message, a great cast and a really good ending. There are no evil mothers, spiteful ex-girlfriends, and the love triangle formed was so super weak that there was no real need to “fight” for love. I liked it give it 3 episodes and you will too!

What I did like was Hong Ki's smile, the girls overacting, and them pretending pro-wrestling was a sport. I have never been a fan of wrestling, but when they did the moves it seemed funny and made me want to clothes- line someone.
All in all, unless you are a fan of Lee Hong Ki, pointless dramas about girls trying to be tough, or if you are a pervert and like to see girls in mid-drifts and skirts hitting each other this drama is for you. Otherwise the first 3 episodes are enough to understand the plot and I really wouldn't bother with the ending.
oh and I didnt understand the lack of common sense and magical happenings in the last ep. just a note.

Baek Hee Has Returned

The Good: This is a great mini-series to get away from a long drama! There is lots of comedy and it hits on serious issues. The cast was really good, I believed all of the characters were who they were playing and Kim Sung Oh was astonishing! There are some predictable plot twists, but there are also some really unexpected plot turns that really make things interesting. And best of all there is a happy ending!
The Bad: The majority of the story surrounds why Baek Hee left and the misconceptions regarding her leaving, so there are lots of flash backs. It took me a while to figure out whose story this was, and who was the main character in the story. The plot moves very fast and initially it is unclear if this is a family drama or a rom-com. There were tons of loose strings at the end and after I fell in love with the characters, I really wanted to know more.
Verdict: I was shocked at how much I liked this drama. The cast was spectacular and really shone through in a story that could have been mediocre. While the story line wasn’t extraordinary the issues touched on were important and I had lots of feels watching the characters come to terms with each other. Keep in mind the story is super short so there are lots of strings hanging; but use your imagination.

Although the ending seems premature and leaves a ton of loose ends; the series, the story and the acting were all done beautifully.
Notes: This is not my first lakhorn so I have a little understanding on the really bad ones and some good ones. Additionally, after Tao (the actor who plays Khun Na) epically lost the girl in Kiss Me, I think he deserved a chance at getting the girl in this lakhorn; or that could be my SLS talking (second lead syndrome).
The Good: Unlike other Thai dramas I have watched, Kiss was full of drama but more “realistic” drama.
I liked how the characters are constantly growing and evolving even if they are annoying. The story line seems to pressure and challenge the characters into being honest with themselves and others about how they feel.
Although this is a dramatic lakhorn there are a lot of funny moments in it, and a lot of comedic relief. To my surprise at least 40% of the supporting characters were gay men, plus the cute guys were plentiful, gay or not. However, do not get your hopes up for fan service.
There were no evil stepmothers and the crazy ex-girlfriends were somewhat understandable. The second male lead (Thew) was a bad actor so no SLS!!
The Bad: I didn’t like the long dramatic lakhorn pauses, but I feel like its part of the deal. There were a ton of flashbacks scenes that did not progress the story. The writers often left the ends of side stories inconclusive, but the annoying “beside the scene” promo segments help to clear up loose endings. Speaking of the behind the scenes…. I have never in my life seen such aggressive in-show ads and ad placements. In addition to the ad placements the placement of music did not match what was going on in some scenes… that was strange. They blurred out a bunch of things including wine in a glass…. I mean really?
In the story Sanrak is super annoying at first but she gets better, they never show the other sisters, and they never explained who the brother/cousin/shop owner was.
Although there weren’t a whole lot of answers given, I still loved this lakhorn. The story shows how beneficial it can be to be true and honest to yourself and others. I recommend this story to drama lovers who like romance and family dramas.
P.S. In the last episode in the last “beside the scene”, there is a book clip holding Sanrak’s skirt up…. Smh

the story concept is similar to secret garden but the movie's attempt to balance comedy and drama is painful to watch. there were way too many times where the scene changed, the mood changed, or a random act occurred with no prep (music, a comment, foreshadowing, anything). It felt like the story was chopped into bits, so the characters would be discussing a matter, then the scene changes to the next day. this led to constant questions of: what happened to the issue at hand? was it resolved? who gave in?.
on top of the story line confusion, the acting was inconsistent. sometimes the male lead would act like such a man that i had to wonder, oh did they switch back? i blame some of this on the writers they didn't give us enough time to know the characters before they switched.
amid the wreckage there were some bright spots; shots of comedy were pretty well placed throughout. so if the movie was getting awful a shot of comedy would draw you back with false hopes of it getting better. they did a lot of parodies (even secret garden)so those were really funny.
i wouldn't watch again, and if you love the concept I suggest you watch secret garden a 3rd time. Overall it had a great general concept, poor writing and poor execution. i gave it a 6 because they tried to capture that "secret garden magic" but didnt have enough time and the ending is waaaay better than secret garden.
p.s. i loathe group songs where the whole world is singing. beware

The good: Lots of flower boys, butler costumes, short episodes, and a supernatural flair. There are some funny references to current shows and the cast seemed to do some pretty good acting.
The bad. Well where do I start? First- from the summary the story line seems interesting and like it would make an awesome show, but maybe the episodes were too short or something? At any rate the script/dialogue was awful; every episode began without explaining how the characters got to the location, or got information. The middle of the episodes would just happen… no “hey guys lets go over to this time/world and check it out” the characters are already there in different clothes. The end of each episode would leave you wondering “so what did I just watch?”
Second- The production. Call me drama privileged but years of watching kdramas, tdramas and the ever evolving jdramas must have me spoiled. I can only imagine the budget was spent on the flower boy actors because the set, design, special effects and wardrobe were all awful. I felt like I was watching a even worse version of yokai nignen bem.
Third- I was roped in by the promise of vampires and I felt betrayed. I love my supernatural just as much as the next gal… but the supernatural characters lacked awesomeness in this drama.
The Verdict. Don’t watch this one, unless you WANT to waste hours looking at pretty boys (are they part of a boy band or something?) and figuring out the whole drama. I was convinced that I wouldn’t let the drama beat me so I watched till the end. In hindsight I don't think that was the best stance to take. :( The really good news is that even though the end left an even bigger question mark on my face, they really tried to explain the whole point of the show.
p.s. every time I read the title I laughed… did someone spell Untouchable wrong?

Pros: Jiro. I loved Jiro in this! While he isn’t the best actor we got see a few different sides of him. There was cool fighting that wasn’t corny but very interesting and some fan service (yea for abs!) The supporting characters were really good and experienced some character development. The story lines were really good, and all of the romances were sweet and not annoying. AND the theme song is boss! :)
Cons: all of the female characters (except the nurse) were very annoying. Nikki’s pouting and voice got on my nerves. The wardrobe department was MIA; lots of repeat outfits, ugly stupid outfits and lots of sweat stains.
Overall: I really liked the drama, it was well done and it avoided almost all of the drama clichés I see in T or C dramas. The problem and the story resolution were all understandable and reasonable. It was fresh, interesting and pumped full of eye candy. I would have given this a 10 but the story ending was so "arrrgghhh! I need more" it got a 8.5. I hate loose ends, and hope this has a 2nd season. i need a second season!

This movie is action packed with great effects and fantastical fight scenes. All the characters were believable and acted really well. Its just that the plot is ridiculous especially for a 2 hour movie! While I am aware that this is based on a long running anime that I haven’t seen, I really felt as if the writers attempted to cram a season of the anime story line into one movie.
I gave this a 8 mainly because the cast was spectacular, Shun WAS Lupin (idk how he magically looked tall and lanky), and the action was top notch. I marked it down because the plot was ridiculous, it wasn’t funny (I remembered Lupin being funny) and they didn’t play the Lupin the Third theme music (I was totally waiting for it!)

Kaseifu no mita is a really cool family drama. I really don’t like family dramas a whole lot but this one was pretty good. A creepy, robotic, Nanny McFee character is the housekeeper who of course teaches the family valuable lessons, and unifies the family all while learning one herself. The main reason I don’t like most family dramas is because they are really unrealistic. However this one really touches on a dark side of life. Not all smiles and happy times, this drama delves into teenage sex, infidelity, suicide, longing, angst, anger and tragedy. Looking at how a family fell apart and was unconsciously mended back together through individual choices made me want to see each episode. I wanted to know whose turn was it to get “fixed”, and how/where was it gonna happen.
Nanako Matsushima was awesome!! She was not only totally believable but she was the character, and it was played to perfection. Other outstanding actors were Shiori Kutsuna who really did bring out the troubled teenager she was playing.
What I didn’t like was the ridiculous concept that the housekeeper never getting into trouble doing what she did. If they were going to be realistic and dark they should have gone all the way. I found the youngest kid annoying (I think that’s what they were aiming for) and a lot of her parts I fast forwarded through. I really wanted one of the kids to become a yankee but ***** no spoilers here****. The grumpy grandfather never became loveable to me and for some reason I found the longing of the aunt (urara played by Aibu saki) annoying and unnecessary. Each time the kids asked Mita (housekeeper) what to do, she answered the exact same thing, that drove me crazy because they kept looking like she would say something different.
The story was great but I felt like the revelations at the end were rushed and unnatural, almost as if the writers didn’t realize it was time for the drama to end. I would have liked the drama to focus a bit more on the housekeeper throughout and not just at the last 15 minutes. Dot get me wrong the ending was still nice and sweet , but it could have been better. The story itself seemed as if midway they needed new material. Like they ran out of problems within the family to tackle so they moved to the unnecessary neighbors. Still it looked like they have this one primed for a second season and I would watch that one too. However in the next family maybe they could make the family less annoying, because in some episodes 4 whiny, selfish, nosy brats and a spinelessa, cry-baby father were too much to take. Although it doesn't suck you in, and make you a part of the family, this one is an interesting watch.
