A so-so time travel BL

The drama is something good enough for a short BL show, but still has a lot of loopholes and failures to narrate the story in a clearer way. It has a Scarlet Heart Ryeo vibe but with a happy ending. The thing I love the most about the show are the cuteness and fluffiness of the actors, they’re so adorable.

It’s a good thing that they kissed twice but it was a little bit awkward and somehow I can feel that they only push themselves to slightly press their lips to each other for the sake of the scene. Anyways, for a mini-BL it was fair to utilize little intimate moments from the main characters.

I feel like the show has the potential but only has a small production budget. I can sense several possible scenes to include for a better execution of storyline but they only had a limited resources and time duration so it’s a pity not to be able to realistically accomplish it.

Thai remake did well yet somehow lost the magic from the major changes they did

Kurosawa and Adachi are some of the few fictional characters that I have grown attached to and always had a special place in my heart. I’ve been gearing up with excitement since the moment that GMMTV announced that a remake of the hit-iconic Cherry Magic, the live-action adaptation from the manga with the same name, is on the way. Most especially this is the comeback series of Tay and New as the main couple in a BL show. I trusted them to give justice to my well-beloved KuroDachi.

The Japanese version set the high so high that it pains me not to enjoy this remake version. I was even more disappointed that they turned Pai’s character into someone who ended up being with Rock, in which the Japanese version was introduced to Fujisaki as someone who is not interested in any love-romance in her life which was a very rare personality of a character.

Don’t get me wrong, the overall production quality from this remake was good enough but still lacked the same magic effect that I felt from the Japanese adaptation, the manga, and the anime that is currently airing right now. Too many additional scenes were added from the Thai remake yet not fully effective to get me to giggle in love with their impact. I feel like I can fully enjoy this one if I haven’t watched any of the previous adaptations of the popular Cherry Magic: 30 Years of Virginity Can Make You A Wizard?!

How I wished that the girl just hid her love forever

It was a weird and intolerable sight for me. I was having such a good time watching the show during the first half but then it became draggy. It all started when the guy started to grow feelings for the young girl. I know that five years gap in a relationship is not considered a very far-away gap, but damn! Why did they not hire a young actor to portray the main male lead during his university days? They just stick to the same actor till the end in wherein it seem too hard for me to accept their romance. The guy felt like a predator who fell in love with a middle school girl.

The main girl's characteristic sticks with being childish until the end. I know that this is not their intention but I can’t help but to feel cringe at their scenes. It was a better ending if the girl ended up with someone his age or those men who tried to court her.

A disappointment from the good reviews from the majority. It wasn’t as good as it seemed to be. The punches that the main guy received from the young girl’s brother are all my feelings towards their pairing. If there’s a different concept, I guess they can win me with their chemistry. But this one is such a meh for me.

One-sided love and the other’s feelings are unknown

It feels like some of Taiwan’s production teams in the entertainment industry are obsessed with incest-like romance. I know that China’s hit series, Addicted (Heroin), plays a big influence in the market but they need to stop since it wasn’t a good storyline to be used nowadays. Many people seem to love this and that’s okay since people have their subjective perspective on a show.

Wei Zhi Yuan’s roots in romance were understandable since he felt the warmth from being accepted and sheltered in a family. But Wei Qian’s love was silly; he acquired romantic feelings for the man he treated his brother for a lifetime and I felt like it wasn’t authentic. In the same way, San Pang grows an intimate relationship with the MC’s sister, Wei Li Li. It is unnecessary to let everyone end up and be paired together, especially in a small cast of characters. I might be hated on this but I can’t push myself to like the show.

When the odds is always in your favor

A well-written revenge and vengeance story that unfortunately does not succeed in making the scenarios believable. The rainbow squad is totally invincible and no matter what kind of life-and-death situation they run through, they always make it out alive. I hope one of them should die to make it more impactful.

I admire the concept of putting justice to each featured victim but the scenes are too good to be true. I am not even sure if I would watch the confirmed season 3 as the story keeps being the same. I have no other cons from the show except for making the scenes too overly executed.

Fantastic start but failed to establish good plots and romantic outcome

Japanese BLs are the home of fluffiness and cuteness since they always put a good execution and approach to playing with these elements. The show offers happy vibes during the first half of the whole episode. Especially seeing the ethereal visuals of the characters. Yanase-senpai is soothingly pleasing to be seen with the mixture of his hotness and kawainess. It is also obvious that the cinematography is nice and clean. They also offer a fresh working professional setting that revolves around the designers in the field of 3D and CG. But…

Unfortunately, the last few episodes are below-average ones with such an uninteresting flow of events. The 1-year gap seems too boring for someone who misses the other person so much. They tried to explain the reason for each character but it is still less than what I expected it to be. Somehow, they wasted the chance to give a much more effective reconciliation of feelings from having been away from each other for a year. Nevertheless, it is still good as it is but as someone who loves the first half, they should do better than this. The ending scene was cute though.

An average show that has an outdated flow of romance

Cliche, a popular cliche but still bearable to watch thanks to the actors themselves. The story doesn’t have anything new to offer nevertheless the whole show is considered to be a decent one. It started with the annoying South Korea’s bullying issue that has always been my major source of angsty while acquiring a school based drama. I hate the fact that everyone in the class turns a blind eye and doesn’t have the gut to help the bullied victim. The superiority of these devil students is making me mad. Eventually, a man came to the rescue and put an end to the reigning king of bullying. A typical scenario except that it feels good to witness the bully vanishing afterwards.

One of the first few plots that the story gave is the reason behind Tae Sung ignoring Hae Bom for a long time. All because of his tough place on trying to fade away the romantic feeling he has for him. As he says, “feelings can’t be forced” so he decided to take the risk and follow his emotions the moment he got the news of the possibility that Hae Bom will move out to their house after graduation. An acceptable valid reason for the cold treatment he gives to Hae Bom in years. The camping episode is a fresh breath from the school stuff that mostly only features bullying. However, I’m not expecting an early graduation for them. They reduce the storyline to fit the total length of the show with only eight episodes.

Kang Hui, the actor who portrayed Tae Sung, is a perfect actor to be casted to the main role. Everytime he acted cute, I badly wanted to go inside my phone screen and kiss his kissable lips. No matter what kind of emotions he feels (mad, sad, broke, happy), his lips are just so adoring to my eyes. His appearance as a whole is stunning; a handsome face and a tall height. A giant baby indeed that is perfect for hugs and comfort. On the other hand, Jin Uk as Hae Bom needs more practice for his acting. He was good enough but inconsistent in letting his character hold the certain kind of attitude needed for the story. The other character was okay and I don’t have anything good or bad to say for them.

For my favorite scene from this series, it's gonna be the wet dream scene. It was done perfectly; the intense glare, intimate exchange of kisses, and Tae Sung sizzling hot exposure of his fine body. Additionally, it’s a fun fact that the show ended in the spring season where Cherry Blossoms can be seen anywhere in Korea. The Original Soundtrack is a bop! Made me feel the last song syndrome from the no-skip opening of the show.

The downfall or moreover the thing that made the series a not-so-memorable show is the common executions of either romantic or plot twist scenes. There’s no something special about this one. If it was aired in previous years, a chance of becoming a hit will happen. Be that as it may, it is still good compared to other BLs with problematic characters.

Good enough for a low-budget show

This is good enough for a short drama despite the several loopholes and fast-phasing presented in the show. The main leads are both cute and handsome. They are more good looking during their actual acts in the drama compared to its poster. Seol Won and Cheol Soo are the only reason why I give the show a higher rating.

The thing I am most annoyed at is how the two tenants are insensitive to others and irresponsible to the household chores. Ye Min -the writer, and Jae Woo -the high schooler, were derived to be supposedly funny characters to uplift the story but ended up being dramatically annoying instead. One is anomalously strict for quietness in spite of knowing that he isn’t the boss of the house and should be a little bit tolerable to his housemates. While the other one’s gluttony for food is ridiculous, he has no manners at all, eating every single food he sees. They made the pilot episode bad. Then, Bong Deok additionally became their new boardmates yet he along with the other two mentioned names still left all the living duties such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and other related tasks to the owner’s son. Yes, Seol Won has the responsibility to make the house clean and organized but he is not a maid or something to be treated by the people residing in their house like that. For such a day of him being drunk, the tenants blame Seol Wan alone for turning the house into a mess.

Some of the scenes have the absence of background music that makes the specific moment a plain one. Nice timing in an audio element is important, it brings support to the effectiveness of delivering a scene. Nevertheless, the OST is great.

On the good side, I love the neat-looking house and the cleanliness in cinematography. Cheol Soo fits the role of a P.E. teacher because of his nice build of muscles in his whole body; the biceps, hands, neck, jawline, etc. Regarding his manly appeal, he can also be fluffy and smoochy. His wink during the last episode was extremely adorable and made him more charming.

The finale was okay. Bong Deok being the second lead has a concrete friend-relationship to Seol Wan as a root cause of his romantic feelings but loses the chance to give his character a more distinct closure. The same with the hetero pair, a side couple who somehow failed to add spice to the story. The one thing I am satisfied with is that for the first time, Jae Woo, the youngest of them, had something good to contribute to the show. The sudden love advice lit the fire of Cheol Soo’s candle of affection to pursue his emotions towards Seol Wan directly -by driving a straightforward love confirmation.

Grateful for the kiss but still wishes for more passionate touching of lips. Good way to end the show through a party attended by all the cast. The sweet ending of the couple sitting on a sofa and holding their hands behind the furniture for it to hide from the rest of the housemates is a good way to end the show.

"That blissful and dejection moments of my high school crush"

Almost all of us experience having someone we liked during our teenage days at school. But for a male student to like another male student is a hard uncontrollable feeling that take too much courage to process, in which most people ended up not telling his feeling towards the person he liked. However, in this mini-series, the most painful thing is that they both liked each other but they didn’t have the chance to make it clear and loses the timing to confess.

“I like you and you like me too but unfortunately we failed to cross the boundary.”

Although there are many typical romantic scenes in the story, it was still cute enough to emphasize the growing relationship of the couple. I am a huge fan of YinWar and once again they proved how good there are in acting and how great their chemistry is.

Personally, I do also take the initiate to get the attention of my high school crush to be able for me to get close to him so I can really relate to BEST and his silly yet adorable action towards DEW. It really feels good to have a crush to someone but as we continuously fell in love, we hope and demand for the one we liked to also have the same feelings to us in which leads us to being heartbroken. There are only two results of crossing the line, it is whether we end up being happy or we end up being sad.

Once the boundary has been crossed, every word and action you do became an attitude, this kind of attitude is what determines where your relationship will be heading to. If only they got this kind of chances, if only, only if…

FAVE SCENE: It is when BEST bestfriend’s hug and comfort him when he was in tears after his farewell moment to his crush. I am really happy to witness real friends supporting their male friend on having a crush to another man. There’s no dull and what ifs moment happened, RAY and BRIGHT accepted BEST for who he is. Aren’t the three of them the cutest? Specially RAY! and if part 2 will happen, I am looking forward to the hint presented to RAY and the other band member, are we getting another couple? Only if a second season happens.

ANNOYING SCENE: The rejected FERN who seeks ally to DEW’s mother. I’m totally mad when someone unfolded a sensitive topic specially about someone’s sexuality to others. Wrong move FERN, bad bad bad! It is so disrespectful for her to discuss this kind of matter to DEW’s mother, she’s not worthy to be a friend. Also, DEW’s mother is another close-minded parent that needs to be educate and must accepts DEW for whoever person he likes as long as the person is morally and a kind human being.

Anyways, I do enjoy watching the drama, it started up joyful and cute, but I ended up crying in pain.

The beauty of Web-Drama

First of all I am so blessed to witness Jung Gun Joo and Hwang In Yeop playing as a best friend in this drama. I'm a big fan of both of them since their series debut.

Now, the story is about 20 years old boy who was broken hearted and his friends decides to go in a trip to freshen up and help him moved on. I really really adore their friendship, their so cute together. The three of them really love each other so well. Adding the 2 older girls in the story is a sweet flavor taste to the flow of the story. Seul Gi and Han Na is a cute couple. I also love how the story doesn't make Yeon Woo and Da In fall in love early because they're both on a moving stage from a heartbreak. But it so sad that they made Jae Yeong into a man who sacrifice his love for his friend, another Hwang In Yeop's failed attempt to have a gf character. But it's also nice to ended it that way so that people may want to have another season.

In terms of the OST and soundtrack, it was so aesthetically beautiful in my ears. The cute and slow melody of the song is so refreshing, super fit in the concept.

What a great cinematography, as expected to a Korean drama. They show how pretty the places and scenarios are. I just love it, no doubt!

In a span of 10 episodes of 12 mins, it was perfectly executed! The real life story of a heartbreak is a typical story but they made it even more pleasing story that viewers will surely love it.

This is what a Web Drama is, Playlist Global has so many beautiful and amazing web dramas to offer so please do watch it. Almost all of web dramas created in Korea has the potential to be a huge lengthen storytime Korean Drama that everyone will be mesmerized and amaze.

That's it, 9/10 because I feel like it is too much for me to give a perfect 10 but still it was a pretty good mini drama to watch! Happy watching!

The impact of Semantic Error in my life can be seen on this long review.

Writing this review in the middle of crying because I just finished the most impactful show I’ve ever watched. I am so attached to them, I don’t even want this to end. Semantic Error beat up other shows from my favorite list and made its way to the top. I love this show with all my heart! It always took me 1-2 hours to finish a single episode with a 20+ minute duration. I keep pausing to take screenshots, replaying every single scene, screaming internally, and anything that makes me release my happiness. You know it’s a great drama if you always feel the urge to watch the next episode after finishing the current one. Waiting for days really tests my patience to its limit.

Everything about Semantic Error is a masterpiece; the excellent acting skills of the actors, visual element and cinematography, poetic filmmaking, well-suited lyrics of the songs along with its high quality of arrangements, fine storyline, the unbreakable chemistry, and more. There’s no dull moments and every single episode is worth it! Both Park Seoham and Park Jaechan are super duper handsome who can act naturally. Their height difference is extra adorable and their pointed nose when facing each other is so visual material.

The story begins when a junior student Cho Sangwoo, removes the names of his seniors who left all the tasks of their group project to himself. Then, the ERROR came to him as Jang Jaeyoung starts messing up his well-disciplined life. Their silly and childish pranks are so cute; wearing a full red outfit to irritate the other since it was his most hated color, taking his favorite seating spot in the room by entering the school early, and buying all his favorite black coffee in the vending machine. Jang Jaeyoung spends too much effort just to annoy Cho Sangwoo. The OST “Romantic Devil” by Coldin is well-suited for Jangyeon’s mannerism and action towards Sangwoo.

It is a clever implication of visuals when the amount of irritating red color on Jaeyoung’s clothes decreases as he gets to know Sangwoo more and more, until he wears nothing read in the fourth episode. The same with Sangwoo who stops wearing a hat when Jaeyoung told him that he is more handsome without it. The sophisticated fashion styles are worthy of praise, perfect for the role of the character! Another roller coaster of emotions that I was not prepared to see on the next episode. The way Jaeyoung ran off from school to go back to his apartment and visit Sangwoo who lives next door to him because he thought that the reason why he is absent is because he was sick. Worrying is a big sign of love. Then, a new set of walls was built once again within them because Sangwoo has now experienced an unusual kind of desire. In the manhwa and animated version, Sangwoo had an erection the moment Jaeyoung whispered and asked him if he wanted to watch a movie. Jaeyoung was confused and mad at the same time because he didn’t know the real reason behind Sangwoo’s sudden change of attitude. Funny that he remembers Sangwoo's nickname and heaps his anger onto his friend who is eating lettuce that time. But the way he fixes the bike even after saying that he will leave Sangwoo alone is so cute. Jaeyoung be like: “I am mad at you, but I still cared a lot for you.” One of my favorite parts from this episode is when our befuddled boy stalked Jaeyoung’s Instagram account and began to orally comment silly words to his post then took several screenshots from his feed. This made me crazy madly in love! Sangwoo began to realize that deleting Jaeyoung in his life is not the best thing to do since it affects him so much. Then, he decided to visit Jaeyoung part-time place and the last part left me hanging. Sangwoo called Jaeyoung “Hyung” and told him to hang up the phone since he had something important to say.

The scenes from Episode 6 are so fluffy and surely sent a huge amount of butterflies in my stomach. Such a bomb episode that heated the fire for the start of their flirting stage. From Sangwoo reconciling with Jaeyoung and asking him to work together in his game to Jaeyoung being whipped by Sangwoo’s sad facial expression when he saw the drawing he left in his proposal from their first meeting. He can’t help but to feel weak and admit his defeat hahaha cutie! Love can really make one smile as we saw several smiling moments from the both of them. Sangwoo’s once in a blue moon smile was reserved for Jaeyoung’s silly and romantic actions. With the additional new OST “Can You Stay” by Coldin, everything is perfect. The lyrics are so relatable to the characters’ bloom of romance. I laugh so hard at how they saved each other’s number as ‘Freeloader 3’ and ‘Worst Boss Ever,’ but feel lovely with their phone conversation. Little touch means a lot. The patting of their heads romantically executed. Never seen so many actors who perform a simple yet full of emotions rolling in their glares by just touching the toppest part of their partner’s body. The cute love triangle is also the best. There’s no big drama coming from the two rivals, both of them are playing fair to gets Sangwoo’s heart. Jaeyoung respects Sangwoo’s personal boundaries on touch by grabbing a part of Sangwoo’s bag instead of a part of his body. Then it comes to Jaeyoung’s studio when Sangwoo is being bossy to let Jaeyoung clean the trash in the room. He even made a comedic rude approach to Yuna hahaha. I lost control of myself when Sangwoo initiated to steal a kiss from Jaeyoung who was pretending to sleep or awaken by his kiss that time. That 4 seconds of their first kiss was being replayed by myself more than 20 times.

That intimate, blistering, passionate, and alluring exchange of kisses was the best! I am lost for words. I just keep rewatching the scene, silently screaming with a wormy-like action because my stomach is fully loaded with butterflies. The running and chasing moments were so cute. Sangwoo taking his feeling as an error is understandable since he is a man of logic and never felt that kind of emotion before. I adore the way Jaeyoung handled the situation by -initiating to have a deeper talk about their relationship carefully; suggesting a week/s of trial of dating; giving Sangwoo more time to think about his feelings; and the consent that has always been applied. I need time to breathe for every exchange of lines coming from them. It was so sexy and delightful to heared. The cinematic purple color was used by the Director to express the couple’s feelings, Sangwoo is blue and Jaeyoung is red, when they start falling for each other the color starts to mix and turn purple. From the healthy rivalry of Jaeyoung and Jihye, I almost collapsed the moment Jaeyoung told Jihye that he likes Sangwoo and threw several compliments to describe how likable Sangwoo is. He set a boundary because he knew that he had a greater chance to win Sangwoo’s heart better than anyone else. On the other hand, Sangwoo asking Yuna for love advice particularly Jaeyoung’s past relationships was so cute along with both of them agreeing to call each other by a particular nickname. The Veggie Man that Jaeyoung’s draws to Sangwoo’s arm was another cute moment. Then, outside of a romantic night sky view, they hold hands and embrace hugs. Every little physical touch in this show is caressing and heartwarming. Jaeyoung embracing Sangwoo like a baby in his broad body is tremendously comforting to watch. His sincere love is noticeable.

I therefore conclude that I am literally gay after watching the finale episode. I want someone as loving as Jaeyoung and as cute as Sangwoo. On the first day of October at 12:10am, a hot suitor personally greeted his lettuce baby and presented him a cute yet messy (blame the pen) little cake. Sangwoo humorously calling out that he is not one of those idiot main characters from a romance novel that let his partner prioritize love over dream is a good breakthrough of norms. I am also grateful that Jihye’s one-sided love has given a warm closure. She even followed Jaeyoung order to call Sangwoo as Mr. Cho hahaha salute to this girl. Also, the breaking point of Sangwoo’s realization is when he kept staring at the fading Veggie Man pen-tattoo. That leads him to cycling and running to find Jaeyoung's whereabouts. Our robot finally gained his confidence and told Jaeyoung three times that ‘he likes him’ and stole a kiss once again. The romantic scenery of them exchanging hugs and kisses outside and transitioning the lovey-dove act of love inside the workplace was another special moment to be remembered. The way they smiled after each kiss was so pure, that shy smile from Sangwoo when Jaeyoung referred to himself as his boyfriend was the cutest. Then Sangwoo proved that he has an ISTJ personality by having an organized file folders for Jaeyoung’s photos. This scene is so funny! I can feel Jaeyoung’s joyful heart. Cuteness overload! Sangwoo and I are both ISTJ and I felt the sudden connection hahaha and the best pair for an ISTJ person based on the MBTI match on the internet are people who are ENFP which also Jaeyoung’s MBTI characteristic. Sangwoo and Jaeyoung are indeed a perfect match! Their adorable sofa fight was too much to handle, my heart exploded from extreme happiness. The way they end the finale from the laptop indicating the text “Semantic Error” to “Clear” is the most satisfying ending knowing that Jang Jaeyoung and Cho Sangwoo finally fell in love with each other.

After watching each episode of Semantic Error, it affects my enjoyment from watching other shows. The standard set by this show is outstandingly great since I felt nothing except absolute boredness when watching other BL shows that aired at the same time. Semantic Error replaced Light On Me as my favorite all time K-BL series. Both are absolutely great dramas, the power of WATCHA! There’s no other K-BL that made me feel the same kind of addiction I have while watching these two masterpiece shows from Watcha.

It is so sad that we have to say goodbye to this show and at the same time send Park Seo Ham to the military. We will be waiting for Seoham’s return and possibly a second season of this show. To Park Seo Ham and Park Jae Chan, thank you for giving us the best Jang Jae Young and Chu Sang Woo. Your chemistry is a god-tier. The power couple of the year 2022. Gonna miss the sweet moments from the promotions, behind the scene moments, IG interactions, and on-screen scenes. To all of the other cast, director, crew, to Coldin who sang the two best OSTs from the show, and to everyone who’s been part of this amazing show, we are all so grateful for all of you! Thank you so much!

Semantic Error, you will always be my favorite show. I love you with all my heart.

Allowing you to think while watching

Alice in Borderland is a manga-adaptation and they did well.

Though I want to give it a perfect score, but I find it too much for the overall rating of the show.

First, the concept is so typical, a survival game which I've watch several same kind is story. Good thing is, the series manage to pull out and gives plenty of newly & fresh life-dependent games.

Great Acting! specially the main lead. The poster and cinematography of the show is so lit. I was so amaze how wonderful their production is.

My fave thing about Alice in Borderland is the CHARACTER DESIGN of the cast. It was well suited and fit for a live-adaptation.

Out of 8 episodes, the third one is what I love the most. The bond of their friendship is so strong. I love how the story lead us in crying the way they let the two friends sacrifice for their friend. I really cried during that scene. "Thank You" and "Live on for us" - These lines huhuhu

Still glad they announce season 2 fast because I want to know what's going to happen next.

Cons of the show:
• Some episodes are not really impactful
• predictable outcome (is it just me or nah?)

The cuteness and fluffiness reached my heart!

Been on my list ever since the pre-released announcement as it is one of my most anticipated BL shows this year. This is all thanks to the incredible pairing of the main character who gave me butterflies from their cuteness that are too soft yet gentle for my heart. I do trust Japan when it comes to executing the relevant details and personality of the characters, wherein, Yamato and Kakeru played it very well. The childhood-to-lovers trope is honestly not my cup of tea but this is an exception.

The visuals presented by the production team are stunning. Those bubble effects are whenever there’s a need to highlight and emphasize that the romantic feeling reached by the other person is wholesome. Honestly, I was expecting that this drama might reach the standard of Cherry Magic and Kieta Hatsukoi level, but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the two mentioned dramas. Yet, I Cannot Reach You is still an above-average BL that gives us a real on-the-spot kissing scene!

I therefore conclude that Haru is the most adorable J-BL actor in the industry. His smiles had that impact of piercing your heart into pieces of joy and sunshine. I wish that both he and Kentaro will reunite in another BL project as still the main couple cause I love them that much.

Recycled concept with nothing new to offer

Here we go with another BL show with the never-ending enemy-turned-to-lovers plot, rich kids go lowkey, supporting characters with no significant roles, below-average chemistry, cliche scenarios, and those typical twists and turns.

This show has a lot of similarities with one of GMMTV’s finest BL, A Tale of Thousand Stars, transparent with its village setup. I guess they tried to get another win but obviously, they failed. The drama has nothing to impress the audience, unlike a few of BLs nowadays who had at least one to three memorable moments that once became the talk of the town. The YouTube views are high enough compared to other BLs that aired at the same time with this and yet only fewer viewers seem to enjoy the show.

Given its vibes, I am expecting to feel the warmth of the people from the small town but the drama tends to focus on showcasing the unimpressive romance of the leads. During the release of the first four episodes, I am always on the verge of either dropping the show or allowing it to have another chance to redeem itself. Thank goodness that 2x speed was invented since it saves me the time to easily watch it, wanting to see the end as soon as possible.

The good thing is, I somewhat feel like I already got the hook of the show and succeeded in finishing it till the last episode. I just hope that if ever the main lead has a new project, it should be in a more distinct nature that will highlight their roles as someone unique and charming. Also, wishing to give the supporting cast a more creative part if they will be given another role similar to their previous one.

Nevertheless, the show may not be the best I’ve watched this quarter of the year. But I still like to congratulate them for making an effort on executing a drama that talked about the importance of time in a relationship.

A sport-romance drama that is greater than average

For a Thai Bl, it is quite rare to see a love story centering in a sports genre. A fresh concept to offer for the viewers. At first, I occasionally felt bored from some scenes but fortunately it gets better the more episodes I’ve watched. It started in a cute way and you can really feel the romance between them. The exciting plot development leads me to liking the show and allows me to improve my previous rating from them. The cinematography was enjoyable too. It actually adds a little bit of dramatic approach to the flow of the story and it was a nice visual element to look at. I found it endearing that their uniforms match the color of the bench at the upper viewpoint of the field. The combination of the bright colors is pretty and the design was perfect for a student who majors in physical sport.

The show provided us with three couples to look forward to and each of them has something to offer. I like the flirting stage and the contradictory of every couple; Fah-Thorn has a timid & sweeping start; Aii-Saen possesses the flirty & reserved type of courtship; while Dome-Vee has a bit of complexity and petrifying emotions to conquer.

Thorn, having a one-sided crush for Fah since they were kids, was painful. I can’t help but to feel sad for him. It is a relief that finally he has acquired the same kind of love he was hoping for a long time, even Fah himself felt like he was an idiot that time. But there’s nothing wrong with not liking back a person who romantically admired you. Luckily, Fah also grows feelings for Thorn and the moment when they exchange kisses was so great. I can feel the lingering emotion they have for each other, a well executed kissing scene. The conflict about their relationship is common and inevitable for those who share a similar dream. If the other one is getting ahead with a long gap of distance, sometimes the one who left behind can’t escape feeling envious and sorrowful. The whole basketball game during the episode prior to the last is an intense one. I love the tension, the drama, the reconnection, the burst of emotions, and Thorn’s realization of his sudden change of attitude that affects the way he treats the people around him. During Thorn’s desperate period of time to catch up to the wasted months of him being injured until he finally breaks down in pain, Fah waits for him for months until he can finally embrace a sense of comfort to Thorn once again. Both of them fit to be the main couple; two men playing a game in the field of their dream as official partners in life.

Saen and Aii are cuties! The lovey-dovey moments of these two stood the most. Their relationship's biggest wall is not the long distance itself but it is when one of them sacrifices his long-awaited dream for the sake of love that just blooms in a few months. I am happy that they talked about this topic with honest and sincere thought. I am not a big fan of seeing those who choose romance over ambition, it’s a good thing that the drama doesn’t use this kind of cliche plot anymore. Saen is such boyfriend material, his way of showing his love is sending me butterflies. Initially, I thought that Aii can’t sync with the level of affection that Saen gives to him but then I realized the two of them have a different personality; one is introverted and the other one is socially active. The best attribute that this couple had is the power of communication. There’s always a problem to be encountered in life, it’s hard but when both of them talk about it, there’s a huge chance that the problem itself will eventually fade away.

The right person in a wrong time love story of Dome and Vee. It was a moment of ups and downs that is really hard to conclude a happy ending since the wall between them is not something to be forgotten easily. The beach episode is a breath of fresh air for the non-stop physical activities and they make a sublime use of the scenario. Opening up your feelings mostly happened at the beach or resorts whether in drama or real life. The rainbow after the storm seems far from their relationship but I admire how they handle the situation with calmness and most reasonable thought. The ending was the best conclusion for them. A little talk was enough to establish their thoughts even more. It is a realistic and commendable plot.

The rest of the characters in this show left a memorable role. The unforeseen shift of character from the coach who started up as an antagonist was indeed shocking to me. I honestly think that I will hate him until the end but each person does have two sides. What I like about this coach is that he didn't insult Thorn and Fah’s homosexual relationship. The basketball team was a lovely group of people who acquired a kind heart and a thoughtful mind. Fluke impact to this drama is a big shout out to the norm of using openly gay character only for the comedy element. Fluke on the other hand is a dependable gay player in the team that helps the development of the main couple to the absolute best. She is interesting to watch and I am glad that the story gave her a nice ending by being the new student activity president. On the other hand, I feel bad for Pan (Vee’s sister) to experience a shocking turn of events. Yet, she herself is also the one who pushes Vee and Dome to reconcile. She is a thoughtful and loving sister to Vee’s life. Tupbok is such an eye candy to the show hihi he is cute along with Pete. The rest of the supporting characters play very well in the story. Sometimes, I forget that Torn and Saen are best friends because they literally have their own world when having a moment together with their respective boyfriends.

The ending is so satisfying, a nice way to end the show. The closure that each character got was amazingly done in the most realistic and accepted way. You’re My Sky is probably one of the above average sports dramas that I’ve ever seen. Way to go!
