Beyond Ghostly Encounters: Revenant Shines Light on Human Evils

Revenant, the much anticipated comeback drama from the critically acclaimed writer Kim Eun Hee, known for works like Kingdom and Signal, delves into the depths of human greed rather than relying solely on traditional horror elements.

The first episode left me underwhelmed, expecting something like The Guest, but it lacked scary moments. As the show progressed, I gradually grasped its true essence and the message it sought to convey. Instead of focusing on evil spirits, the writer expertly exposes the horrors that lie within human beings, the darkness that surfaces when desires and greed take control.
The drama raises the question, Are humans any better than evil spirits? Unfortunately, my answer is no.

Throughout the series, we witness the sacrifices of innocent children by the male lead's grandparents, resulting in their own children paying a heavy price for these malevolent acts.
While revenant may not feature numerous terrifying or chilling moments, it excels in showcasing the evils hidden beneath the facade of human existence.

From the very first episode to the last, the show's storytelling captivates the audience, luring us in with compelling twists that keep us eagerly anticipating the next episode. It undoubtedly secures its place as one of the best currently airing horror thrillers.

Kim Taeri's performance is nothing short of exceptional, as she impeccably portrays the conflicted Sanyoung, desperate to understand and eliminate the evil spirit to save those around her from harm. Equally mesmerizing is her portrayal of the malevolent spirit Hyangi, making her character's transition captivating sight.
While the both male lead characters of Yeom Haesang and Lee Hong Sae may not have impressed me as much, they failed to create any big impact on my mind. I had loved Oh Jung Se and Hong Kyung's performances in previous dramas but here they were OK.

Kim Hae Sook's portrayal of Hae Sang's grandmother Na Byung Hee is a great addition, delivering a standout performance, especially in Episode 11. Here she is even more wicked than her previous character from Under The Queen's Umbrella, sparing neither her son nor husband from her malevolence.

In conclusion, Revenant captivated me by skillfully narrating the tale of evil residing within human hearts, ingeniously intertwined with ghostly elements.

Monsters, Madness and Military : Sweet Home Season 2 Unleashes a Blood Soaked Journey

Sweet Home Season 2 seamlessly continues the thrilling narrative from its predecessor, skillfully extending the suspense from the first season's gripping conclusion. It dives straight into the narrative, offering a smooth transition for avid viewers and introducing new characters to enrich the post apocalyptic setting.

Unlike the first season, Season 2 expands its scope beyond the Green Home apartments, revealing a world in chaos with military involvement, additional survivors and a peculiar mad scientist that deepens the plot's complexity. However the abundance of new characters makes it a bit challenging to connect and the plot seems somewhat lost amidst the multitude. The pacing maintains intensity until EP 3 but afterward it settles into an average rhythm.

The shift in perspective towards the monsters particularly through Cha Hyunsoo's eyes adds a compelling layer to the overarching narrative. Hyunsoo transforms from a loner to a blood soaked hero becoming the bridge between humanity and monstrosity. However lead characters like Lee Jinuk's Ui Myeong & Hyunsoo himself feels relegated to cameo roles post EP 3 with other characters such as Eunyoo, Park Chan Young and Scientist Im taking center stage.

The ensemble cast led by Song Kang delivers standout performances. Song Kang's portrayal of Hyunsoo showcases a range. Lee Jinuk's return as Ui Myeong captures the ferocity and insanity that made Season 1 memorable. Go Minsi's portrayal of Eunyoo reflects a noticeable change in character resilience and Lee Siyoung's performance as Yikyung, a former firefighter seeking answers, adds survival instincts intertwined with the fragility of a broken heart. Her character introduces the biggest plot twist in the show.
Season 2 introduces Oh Jung Se as Scientist Im, providing a fascinating perspective on the apocalypse that adds an intriguing dimension to the storyline. The ensemble cast collectively breathes life into the characters enhancing the overall viewing experience.

Visually, Sweet Home Season 2 boasts impressive CGI. The expansive landscapes, intense action sequences and various monsters collectively create an immersive experience. Attention to detail from gunfire to explosive scenes further elevates the visual impact.

Deserving a solid 8.5/10, Season 2 stands as a commendable follow up installment in the world of apocalyptic horror Kdrama. It adeptly combines grit, gore, horror and heartache. The final scene delivers one of the biggest plot twists for Season 1 fans, leaving an insatiable desire for more.

In summary Sweet Home Season 2 proves to be a worthy continuation although it doesnt quite surpass the charm of the original. It successfully balances intense action with emotional depth, keeping viewers engaged throughout even though it falls short of perfection.

Visually Breathtaking but Storyline Leaves Room for Improvement

While the story may not offer much but the production quality of this drama is truly a visual extravaganza. The VFX effects, action sequences & sci-fi elements are absolutely breathtaking.

The plot revolves around SaWol's journey to becoming a deliveryman after enduring numerous hardships.

The male lead primarily serves as a legendary deliveryman showcasing some impressive action sequences. He comes off more as supporting character here except last 2 episodes.

On the other hand the main antagonist follows the typical sci-fi movie villain archetype, harboring a deep resentment against humanity. He is afflicted with an incurable disease and conducts tests on patients to find a cure.

The female lead plays an army officer role with limited significance in the overall narrative.

Although the characters may not leave a lasting impression they are passable.

The drama boasts several exciting action sequences with the deliveryman competition & climactic scenes being my personal favorites. If you are seeking drama with stunning action sequences, impressive VFX effects and an ok-ok storyline then this is definitely worth a watch.

Numbers: A Decent Watch, Though Not Without Faults

"It was good, but it had the potential to be even better."
The revenge drama set in an accounting firm, may not appeal to everyone. Personally i found it challenging to understand many of its scenes and terminologies, especially if you're not familiar with the commerce field or accounting. However, those with knowledge in these areas might enjoy it more.

The core plot is straightforward, the ML's father figure commits suicide (later revealed to be murder) due to injustice, leading him to set on a path of revenge. Unlike typical action packed revenge dramas, this one is more business driven.

The show has its both positive and negative points .

What I liked:

1. Acting: The performances of all three lead characters and the supporting cast impressed me. Particularly, SML Han Seung Jo and the main antagonist Han Je Kyun delivered standout performances. The seasoned ensemble actors also gave their best.

2. Production value: The drama boasted excellent production value and the budget was put to good use. It even gave me vibes reminiscent of tvN/SBS dramas rather than MBC dramas.

3. Background: The drama's setting in an accounting firm was a refreshing change, as there are only a few dramas based on this field.

4. Twists: Each episode's cleverly implemented plot twists kept me eagerly awaiting the next episode.

What I disliked:

1. Story/Writing: Although the plot and background were promising, the execution fell short in helping viewers fully comprehend the complexities. Compared to other dramas based on fields like medical, law, bank, police, esport etc this one proved more challenging to follow. It would have been better if the writers had ensured clarity for a broader audience.

2. Characterization: While the male lead Jang Ho Woo's character was decent, I couldn't emotionally connect with him. Additionally, the idea of a high school graduate successfully working in such a prestigious accounting firm seemed implausible. His constant stroke of luck when solving problems didn't feel believable. On the other hand, female lead Jin Yeon Ah's character was disappointing and even some minor supporting characters carried more weight in the plot. Jang Jisoo's character felt more like the actual female lead of the show.

In conclusion, the show has its own pros and cons, which may influence your enjoyment of it.

Action, Emotion & Excellence : MOVING Sets a New Standard in Superhero TV

The drama truly redefined the superhero genre for me. Normally, superhero shows feature individuals with supernatural powers saving the world from evil forces. So what sets MOVING apart from the rest?
This isnt a typical show where individuals with superhuman abilities save the world. Instead, its about their unwavering dedication to protecting their families at any cost and this forms the core of the story.

The narrative revolves around nine individuals who are willing to do whatever it takes to shield their loved ones from malevolent forces. These forces either seek to eliminate them or want to coerce them into working for their selfish agendas.

Every hero in our ensemble gets their moment to shine throughout the show. Each character possesses a compelling backstory that will genuinely touch your heart. While you witness their backstories, you will cry alongside them and you will also share in their moments of joy as they connect with their loved ones.

When we think of superhero movies or shows, action usually comes to mind first. However, MOVING offers something different. It not only boasts jaw dropping action sequences but also seamlessly weaves in slice of life moments throughout the drama.

This drama incorporates various sub genres such as romance and slice of life and they blend together seamlessly. The romances be it Juwon - Jihee, Dooshik - Mihyun or our sunshine couple HeeSoo - Bong Seok are exceptionally well-executed. The mix of sorrow and yearning in our older couples and the cuteness of our beloved younger couple beautifully complement each other.

Even the story of Kang Hoon and his father Jae Man, will tug at your heartstrings evoking very strong emotions. Jae Man's unconditional love for his son Kang Hoon is unparalleled.

Regarding the action sequences, I can confidently state that MOVING redefines the action genre in Korean entertainment media.
Even the most challenging action sequences are executed with remarkable ease, leaving you captivated. The high budget is put to excellent use.

Episodes 10-11 & 19-20 stand out as my personal favorites with both the storytelling and action sequences reaching perfection. These episodes will undoubtedly move you to tears and leave you in awe with their flawless action sequences.

Every actor excels in portraying their characters, from seasoned actors like Ryu Seong Ryung, Han Hyo Jo and Zo Insung to rookie talents like Lee Jungha, Go Younjung and Kim Dohoon. They bring their characters to life so convincingly that you may question whether they are real people or actors.
I bet Ryu Seong Ryung is either going to win Best Actor or the Daesang at the next Baeksang Awards. Thats how impressive he was in this drama. He is actor that the Korean entertainment media should save at all costs.

The BGMs enhances every scene and experiencing the show on Disney Plus Hotstar with Dolby Atmos provides an epic viewing experience that words cant fully describe.

In summary, MOVING is masterpiece that transcends genres. Whether you are a fan of action dramas or not, I highly recommend not missing out on this exceptional show.

Dr. Romantic 3: A Riveting Battle of Ideologies & Gripping Medical Cases

Dr. Romantic 3 primarily revolves around the clash of ideologies between two main characters. The first ideology is embodied by Kim Sabu, who represents an idealistic style of thinking. The second ideology is portrayed by Prof. Cha Jinman, who embodies a realistic style of thinking. While some may not agree, Prof. Cha Jinman was undoubtedly one of the main characters throughout the show.

In the last four episodes, we witnessed intense clashes of opinions between Kang Dongju & Cha Eunjae + Seo Woojin.

Neither Kim Sabu's idealistic thinking nor Prof. Cha Jinman's realistic thinking seemed perfect to me.

However, I found myself partially leaning towards Prof. Cha Jinman's realistic approach. From my perspective, he wasn't the villain that many people made him out to be (I know actor's controversial past but here I am only talking from character's perspective).
I appreciated how he shed light on the challenges doctors face due to angry patients & their families. In the end, doctors are human too & they deserve respect. While he wasn't entirely right, his realistic mindset resonated with me more compared to Kim Sabu's idealistic approach.

In terms of romance there wasn't much development. The main couple's romance seemed stagnant although they started living together but unfortunately, FL's family created unnecessary obstacles that hindered their progress.
The second couple had a smooth relationship until an unnecessary breakup trope was introduced. Frankly, the reason for their breakup seemed quite childish to me.

The cases featured in Dr. Romantic 3 were engaging & intriguing. Personally, I found the cases in Season 3 more interesting compared to those in Seasons 1&2.
Specially, collapsing building case & fire at the chemical plant were the most captivating to me.

Overall, I enjoyed Dr. Romantic 3 more than its predecessors because the cases in this season intrigued me the most.

Wasted Potential: The Bittersweet Journey to Samdalri

This show was a mixed experience for me with some episodes being enjoyable while others left me frustrated. Despite this, the standout performances and compelling storylines justified watching it.

Now i will discuss what i liked and disliked.

What I Liked:

Great Acting: The performances were superb with impressive portrayals from the main leads, veterans and even minor roles. Kim Mi Kyung and Shin Haesun in particular excelled in their roles.

Compelling Supporting Storylines: Samdal's sister's narratives were surprisingly engaging, occasionally surpassing the main plot in interest.

Breathtaking Jeju Visuals: The show beautifully showcased Jeju's natural charm, perfectly in line with its healing genre, thanks to the director's skillful capture of landscapes.

Yongpil and His Mother's Bond: I absolutely loved Yongpil and Ko Mija's relationship. Im mentioning Ko Mija as Yongpil's mother's because he genuinely considered her as his own mother and she reciprocated the same feeling. Some may have misunderstood some of Yongpil's actions towards Ko Mija due to his love for Samdal but to me he was doing everything for his own mother, Ko Mija. He even chose to break up with Samdal to protect Ko Mija, sacrificed his dream, which truly reflects his immense love for his mother, Ko Mija.

What I Disliked

Flawed Writing: The writing here was poor, particularly in crafting the lead characters. FL's character is poorly written lacking the ability to stand up for herself, very disappointing, especially when she had evidence against Eunju but chose silence. Its perplexing how forgiving she appears towards someone who made her life miserable, forcing her to give up her career. While some argue its not a revenge driven show, standing up for oneself isnt revenge. Yongpil, initially a promising character comes off as clingy at times, seemingly oblivious to personal space. The writer neglected to properly develop his character, the first half focused on establishing FL's character and the second half's attempt at Yongpil's story was unconvincing. Equal importance to both leads from the start would have improved the narrative.

Second Male Lead: Despite not being malicious or negative his storyline was unconvincing and felt like filler, a major dislike for me. His scenes in the second half of the drama were particularly irritating. I find it hard to comprehend how he could be in one sided love with Samdal for over 30 years. While i can understand Yongpil's feelings given their past relationship but what about him?? Samdal never viewed him romantically, she never dated him or provided any hope yet he couldnt let go of his feelings for her for such long period of time.

Yongpil's Dad's Arc: The storyline involving Yongpil's dad was poorly written. While the actions of other characters in that track like the main leads breaking up were somewhat understandable, Yongpil's dad's treatment towards Samdal's family was childish and unreasonable. Despite understanding his pain from losing his wife, making his son's life miserable just because of that is unsympathetic. His entire storyline could have been handled much better.

Inconsistent Engagement: My connection with this show was strange like i would enjoy one episode but the next one would annoy me the most. The inconsistency in writing was evident and i didnt appreciate it.

Talking about the chemistry between the leads, i would say they had more of a best friends dynamic than that of lovers. Honestly, throughout the entire time, i never perceived them as lovers but rather as best friends forever. This could be seen as both positive and negative but given the romance genre here, my opinion tends towards the negative.

In conclusion despite its wasted potential, the show provided a decent pastime experience.

Doctor Slump : A Promising Start Hindered by Cliches Yet Still Worth Watching

The series started on a promising note, exploring themes of depression, healing and the found family trope. However as it progressed, it seemed to lose its focus with the introduction of numerous cliched storylines, such as the problematic parents of ML, Truck kun's cameo and an unnecessary breakup. Nevertheless, despite these setbacks the show remained engaging.

Despite its flaws, there were still several aspects that i found enjoyable. The family scenes were consistently heartwarming and the comedy, while not groundbreaking, brought smiles on faces at various points. The relationship between the leads was portrayed in a healthy manner with a natural progression and understanding that was a joy to watch. Additionally the interactions between the second leads were quite fun, despite their limited screen time. The bond between the ML Jeongwoo and Haneul's family was quite cute and heartwarming.

In terms of acting, everyone did good job. Park Hyung Sik in loser lover type roles is always a treat to watch. While im not a big fan of Park Shin hye, she was quite watchable here. The other cast members including second leads and supporting actors were also good in their roles.

However there were some technical shortcomings, particularly in cinematography and picture quality, which gave the show an outdated appearance. Additionally there were issues with sound mixing, with background noise occasionally overshadowing the characters voices.

Despite its flaws, Doctor Slump remains a decent drama worthy of a one time viewing.

Daily Dose of Sunshine - Finding Hope and Humanity in World of Psychiatry

Daily Dose of Sunshine, Netflix's newest offering, is an adaptation of the webtoon "Jeongsinbyeongdongedo Achimi Wayo" (정신병동에도 아침이 와요) by Iraha. Drawing inspiration from real life experiences, the show explores the world of psychiatric care.
The story unfolds through the perspective of Jung Da Eun, a character with whom we can easily empathize. As she makes the transition into the psychiatric unit, we witness her initial challenges and her path towards finding her footing within the ward.

This series addresses the pressing issue of mental health especially in South Korea, a country struggling with increasing mental health challenges. Daily Dose of Sunshine opens the door to essential conversations in a society where mental health often carries a heavy stigma.

What stands out is the careful portrayal of mental illness. The show doesnt limit itself to one perspective but delves into the inner worlds of patients. It beautifully captures the diverse experiences, from paranoia to mania induced dance routines and the transition of OCD and hyper fixations. The audience can truly empathize with the patients struggles.

Da Eun is portrayed as a kind hearted character, but the show doesnt shy away from highlighting the potential pitfalls of excessive kindness, reminding us that healthcare professionals are human too. It explores the challenges they face, including the hierarchy within the healthcare system.

Daily Dose of Sunshine doesnt just reduce patients to symptoms, it humanizes them. Through Da Eun, the entire team rediscovers the importance of maintaining a personal connection with patients, rather than just focusing on their medical records.

Through the character Go Yoon, the series delivers humor at the perfect moments when you need it most & Yeon Woo Jin's performance is truly commendable
Daily Dose of Sunshine offers a unique exploration of psychiatry and its patients for both viewers and Jung Da Eun. Park Bo Young's sincere portrayal of Jung Da Eun makes the journey relatable. With its balanced tone and honest approach to mental illness, Daily Dose of Sunshine encourages hope and understanding, reminding us that we are not so different from the patients we see.

Taxi of Terror : The Unforgettable Ride of A Bloody Lucky Day

A Bloody Lucky Day is an intense thriller that takes you on a rollercoaster ride through the minds of its characters. From the get go, its clear that this drama is not your typical crime series. Geum Hyeok soo, the serial killer in this story, is unlike anything we have seen before in the world of dramas. His actions, thoughts and words are more akin to a devil than a mere murderer.

Split into two parts, the story offers a unique perspective in each segment. The first part unveils the unfortunate events leading taxi driver Oh Taek to cross paths with the chilling killer. Geum Hyeok soo's character is not just about body count, it delves into the essence of pure evil.

The second part takes an unexpected turn as Oh Taek embarks on a quest for revenge. This shift adds complexity to the story exploring the thin line between good and evil. While the resolution may not resonate with everyone, the drama keeps everyone engaged with its compelling storytelling.

Yoo Yeon seok and Lee Sung min deliver stellar performances. Yoo Yeon seok's seamless transformation from a soft spoken character to a bone chilling murderer is extraordinary while Lee Sung min's portrayal makes you feel sympathy for his character. The chemistry between these actors elevates the drama's overall impact.

The cinematography, editing and music create a tense atmosphere enhancing the overall viewing experience. The closeups and the confined space of the taxi add a unique touch to the drama.

However second part introduces plot twists that may be interpreted as a fresh perspective by some viewers. The ending while aiming for resolution sparks curiosity rather than neatly tying up loose ends.

Despite its flaws, A Bloody Lucky Day stands out as a exceptional thriller with elements that push the boundaries of the genre. Its a must watch for those who enjoy intense narratives and stellar performances.

Disney+ Unleashes Gripping Vigilante : A Dark Hero's Quest for Justice

Disney+'s newest offering, "Vigilante," adapted from a webtoon of the same name Vigilante (비질란테), written by CRG and directed by Choi Jeong Yeol, follows the story of Dark Hero Kim Jiyoung. He takes justice into his own hands, targeting criminals who exhibit no remorse for their past crimes.

This fast paced action thriller makes us ponder whether criminals genuinely regret their actions and if the legal system provides adequate punishment. The narrative explores the loopholes in the law, compelling the male protagonist to assume the role of a vigilante in order to combat societal evils.

While acknowledging that vigilantism isnt an ideal real world solution, the series encourages viewers to question if criminals receive their due justice. This introspection becomes the catalyst for the emergence of the dark hero.

Kim Jiyoung traumatized by witnessing his mothers murder in childhood channels his anger into becoming a vigilante when he sees the murderer display no remorse.

The show introduces other interesting characters, such as Cho Heon, a former gangster turned police officer determined to apprehend the vigilante at any cost. News reporter Choi Miryeo provides the vigilante with a list of criminals to pursue while Cho Kangok, the series most intriguing character is an obsessive fan of the vigilante.

All these characters are unique in their own right. Cho Heon aims to catch the vigilante but doesn't want him to be attractive, fearing public sympathy. Cho Kangok's obsession adds a real and entertaining dimension to the drama.

While the limited length of 8 episodes x 45 minutes prevents an in depth exploration, the show manages to remain captivating and avoids monotony.

Nam Joohyuk's performance in the titular role stands out, showcasing an insane range of emotions.

If you ae a fan of action crime thrillers, this is a binge worthy watch.

Soundless Love: Tell Me That You Love Me's Journey through Love and Loss.

"Tell Me That You Love Me", penned by Kim Minjung and helmed by Kim Yoonjin is the Korean adaptation of the popular Japanese drama "Aishiteiru to Ittekure", released in 1995. This captivating melodrama portrays the love story between Jinwoo, a middle aged man navigating life as a deaf artist and Moeun, an aspiring actress propelled by her profound love for the craft.

The show, experienced in 2023 is a beautifully written meloromance with each character feeling remarkably real and relatable. The narrative skillfully weaves their pains, hardships and struggles creating an emotional connection beyond the main lead characters.

Jinwoo a relatively unknown artist who lost his hearing early in life, finds a renewed sense of happiness and love when Moeun enters his life. This lonely man, scarred by a heartbreak from his past finds solace and happiness, granting him a second chance at love. However this marks merely the beginning of their journey, what unfolds are genuine issues faced in a relationship where one partner grapples with physical disability.

The show keeps it real about relationships with different physical abilities avoiding idealized views. It shows the challenges without getting toxic, staying down to earth. It digs into what its like when one partner faces physical hurdles, keeping things raw and genuine.
As the story goes on, Moeun deals with feeling insecure and jealous bringing in real challenges that resonates with the audience. A significant factor contributing to her struggle is Jinwoo's inability to hear or communicate conventionally. The emotions that arent sorted out create problems leading to a big breakup in episode 15. For me, the breakup made sense especially for Moeun to face and work through her own feelings.

"Tell Me That You Love Me", keeps it real about relationships especially when one partner has physical challenges. It avoids painting an idealized picture of love, embracing the genuine, sometimes messy side of such connections. The writer skillfully steers the story, fixing possible issues and making it even better than the Japanese version

Apart from the main characters the supporting cast brings depth and charm to the series. Characters like Kihyun, Seokyung, Johan, Jiyu, Modam and Moeun's parents are well crafted, adding richness to the overall story. Personally Kihyun is my favorite character whose warmth and friendship represent the companionship everyone desires. His happily married life with a deaf spouse and a daughter adds an extra touch of charm to the series.

The acting in the show is a key ingredient for its success. From minor roles like Jinwoo's students to the main leads, every cast member gives a praiseworthy performance. Jung Woosung's depiction of Jinwoo using compelling sign language and expressive acting truly shines. Supporting actors like Kihyun and Seokyung also impress bringing depth and authenticity especially in their use of sign language. Shin Hyunbeen's portrayal of Moeun adds an authentic touch making her journey in learning sign language feel genuine and relatable.

The show's music stands out with a beautiful OST lineup that heightens emotional moments. My Personal favorites are "Try Not To Cry" by 10cm and "To You" by Nerd Connection.

In conclusion, "Tell Me That You Love Me" is a masterpiece that should not be missed by melodrama romance lovers. With a solid 10/10 rating, this show leaves a lasting impression and holds a special place in the heart of the viewers

Dark and Eerie Atmosphere: Lies Hidden In My Garden Sets a Haunting Tone

Watching Lies Hidden In My Garden was a thrilling and engaging experience. It had a dark and eerie atmosphere that kept me hooked from beginning to end.

The plot started with Second FL committed murder, setting the stage for a series of unexpected events. The climax intensified when Main FL & her husband collaborated to kill the Second FL but Main FL ended up killing her own husband and take all the blame upon herself.
The mind boggling plot twists in Ep7&8 had me on the edge of my seat, thoroughly engrossed in the story.

The performances in the drama were brilliant. Everyone, from Seung Jae (FL's son) to the supporting characters like the neighbor lady, delivered their best. However, I must commend Lim Ji Yeon for stealing the spotlight with her incredible performance as the Second FL. She portrayed the character brilliantly.

The writing & direction were excellent. I appreciated the small details & nuances in the writing, & dialogues were impactful, especially during the confrontation between the second FL & first FL in Ep 7.

The cinematography perfectly captured the dark & thrilling nature of the story. The use of black and white color grading during the scene of the second FL killing her husband was particularly effective.

Bgms added another layer to the overall experience, enhancing the suspense & tension of the dark thriller.

The Human Lie Detector & Her Lovely Liar.

This is the story of human lie detector and an terrible liar who simply cant tell a falsehood. The story unfolds with female protagonist who possesses the uncanny ability to detect lies, crossing paths with a man notorious for his terrible lying skills and thats how their journey begins.

Male lead Kim Seung Ju aka Kim Doha, is a suspect in his ex-girlfriend's murder. Evading the authorities for years he lives in seclusion haunted by guilt. Although he is innocent of the murder he bears the weight of responsibility for her death. What transpires when he encounters person with the gift of detecting human lies forms the crux of the plot.

As for the storyline, it started on a promising note and the romantic elements developed smoothly over the course of 16 episodes. Yet at certain points, show seemed to meander and the execution of the murder mystery plot left much to be desired save for the startling last minute twist which caught everyone off guard.
Murder mystery plotline was riddled with plot holes that I found rather disconcerting. Kim Doha's perpetual self-blame even after the passage of 6-7 years, at times grated on my nerves. Nevertheless I did appreciate the manner in which the female lead stood steadfastly by his side aiding him in overcoming his guilt.

Another aspect that left me disheartened was the way Kim Doha's helped his ex-girlfriend's brother in evading the police. Despite the brother's attempt to kill him and the kidnapping of one of his friends, Kim Doha helped to escape him from police, resulting in severe injury to an innocent character. What if the that character had died from injury?? Kim Doha would have been burdened with yet another decade of guilt.

While the murder mystery plotline suffered from poor execution featuring Doha miraculously stumbling upon clues out of thin air the final plot twist proved to be a delightful surprise. It was something that none of us predicted previously. While some viewers didn't like the plot twist, citing homophobia, I didn't look at it from that perspective. In place of him, even a straight girl who had a crush on him could have accidentally killed his ex-girlfriend. So, more than anything, I liked the plot twist for its unpredictability.

Coming to the love story, it was well developed from start to finish. The chemistry between both lead actors was palpable and the last two episodes with their sweetness, redeemed the overall viewing experience. Were it not for these final episodes my rating would have undoubtedly been lower.

In terms of acting both lead actors, Hwang Min Hyun and Kim So Hyun delivered commendable performances. Hwang Min Hyun adeptly portrayed Kim Doha's fragile, introverted persona, while Kim So Hyun shone brilliantly as the human lie detector.

In summary I would categorize this as an exceptional romance drama though the murder mystery subplot left much to be desired in terms of development.

Unmasking Corporate Realities: Friendship and Ambition's Empowering Journey

I was pleasantly surprised by this show, as it exceeded all of my expectations. Set in the world of business marketing, it combines elements from various genres such as life drama, business & romance.

The story follows the journey of the female lead who lacks a college education but possesses eight years of marketing experience from small company. She manages to secure a position in big company like Seyong & strives to establish her name despite her lack of higher education.
Throughout the drama, several issues are highlighted, such as the challenges faced by pregnant women in receiving promotions after taking a break & the consequences of negative marketing etc.

The drama provides realistic portrayal of how large companies operate, showcasing office politics at both higher & lower levels & how they impact the lives of the employees.

One aspect I particularly enjoyed was the strong friendship between the two leads. They always supported each other unconditionally & their friendship scenes were heartwarming.
Even when the male lead rejected the FL's love confession, I was glad to see that they remained true friends.

I also loved the character of the second female lead, who held the position of CCO. Despite her high position, she displayed no arrogance or rudeness and was solely dedicated to her work.

The cinematography and color grading used in the show were excellent, providing a refreshing visual experience & boosting positive energy.
The upbeat OSTs & background music also helped elevate the mood.

After Misaeng, this business drama became my favorite. Its realistic portrayal of the subject matter was a major factor in my liking towards this drama.

In conclusion if you are interested in a drama that focuses on business, office politics & friendship, I highly recommend giving this show a chance without any hesitation.
