just watch it and judge by yourself

imo reviews and comments are too extreme - i agree it isn't the best saeguk out there. it has several flaws in the writing and the plot sort of fell off after ep 10-12. if you came in looking for a politically-driven drama, this was definitely not it since the beginning. if you read the synopsis of this drama and expect strong politics, that's on you tbh because it screams romance-centered. "political" is not even a tag here, so judging it for having weak politics is out of place, since it wasn't even part of the main plot. the plot is clearly about how the female twin survives as the CP and develops feelings for her royal teacher, and that's pretty much what delivered. now, again, i agree it wasn't the best after the leads got together and the second half was underwhelming and draggy, but most of the reviews are focusing on things unrelated to this particular drama, and bringing up plots from other saeguks. the fact that it's a saeguk doesn't mean it needs go be politics-centered.
that said, it would've been better off if it had 16 eps as the regular format so that some of the writing mistakes wouldn't be so noticeable or bothersome. i feel like the writer forgot about certain characters throughout the drama and remembered them only by the end (tho they did have a purpose), which shows kind of lazy writing. it feels like the writer ran out of inspiration in the second act and didn't know what else to throw to the plot, but kind of recovered by eps 19-20 and produced a nice 3rd act (for me). these two were the best of the second half and gave a nice closure to the drama. overall, i did enjoy it but i'm also a rowoon stan, so i'm aware that my judgement isn't completely unbiased, lol. tho i wouldn't really recommend it to someone who isn't into saeguks, and maybe only if they like a lot of romance and rowoon, lol.

Amazing and light fantasy romcom

Not planning to leave a long review but just to let anyone doubting whether to start it or not, you totally should. This is one of the best romcoms, the leads have great chemistry, the characters are mature, the FL is one of the best FLs ever: she's a strong woman with a great personality, decided, independent, stands for herself, outgoing, true to herself... And she doesn't have the typical "femme fatale" image that kdramas associate this type of woman with, which makes her even more outstanding. All the side characters and stories are very interesting and nice to see, the second romance is super cute and lovable. The drama stays strong till the end, I was personally never bored with it, not even after the MLs get together, which is when dramas usually start dragging the plot. MRIAG managed to stay funny, fun, exciting till the end. Even though it's a fantasy drama and the fantasy is a main part of the show, it's easy to forget it's actually a fantasy drama because of how realistic and relatable all the characters are. The last ep had like 20 minutes of drama but it's not a big deal. I usually like light dramas without villains or unnecessary dark plots and MRIAG is exactly that. If you are looking to watch a light romcom with great romance, characters and plot, this is definitely for you.

This was a very cute web drama with not much going on, but with very cute leads that made it fun to watch. What I like about short web dramas is that the story doesn't need to be deeply developed, yet it usually manages to be very nice; the conflict is never too strong and it gets solved fast. Go Sang Ha was the sweetest boy ever, I couldn't stop smiling whenever he was on screen. Jin Won was a bit too annoying at times, but at the end he was cute too. Their cuddling scenes were also really soft, whenever they hugged and kissed I couldn't help but smile. They had a lot more chemistry than many leads in het dramas in prime times. The story was dull and confusing, I didn't understand GSH's actions sometimes but it's a web drama anyway and their acting and chemistry was nice.

I like that BLs are becoming more common day by day, despite them only being short web dramas in the meantime. Hopefully there will be more, as well as GL too.

I loved this season just as much as I loved season 1. The story develops so well, Lee Chang continues to prove himself as the most fitting person to lead the country, a true king who cares for his people more than for his own life, one who does not leave anyone behind. Just like I mentioned on my review on S1, I love how fitting this role is for Joo Ji Hoon and that along with Bae Doo Na's character, they're my favorite. Also, Kim Sung Gyu's is definitely one of a kind. I would like to see more of his personal story being developed, but I'm glad to know that we had some context on why he's the way he is.

Cho Hak-joo is a horrible person but I can't not love his evilness and twisted mind, as well as the Queen's. I saw many people being disappointed with her actions later in the season but I think it was very understandable that she had to regard for the country or its people, that all she wanted was to have the throne for herself because of how much her father despised her, so all that she wanted was the recognition, and just like she said it, if she didn't have then no one else would. I think this attitude was something completely normal for a character like hers.

I also really liked the fact that Lee Chang gave the throne to the Prince even though he was not of Royal blood, simply because Chang never meant to have the throne for himself. He always made sure that he did not wish to be a King and that what he actually wanted was to bring order back to the country and destroy the Haewon Cho Clan.

I'm excited to see what will happen in Season 3, which I hope they announce soon because Chang being up North chasing for more zombies and finding so many possible places will be really fun to watch, especially now that they have more of a clearer idea about how to destroy them. Also, Jun Ji Hyun's character! I'm so thrilled to see what role she will have. I'm anticipating it so much.

Love beyond age

Yoon Dong Ha is the perfect man. I loved every bit of his personality, he was absolutely charming and lovely. Ban Ji Yeon showed an incredible character development without losing herself, which is something that we don't see much in kdramas. Their chemistry was amazing throughout the whole drama, not one single bit of their interactions felt forced or anything similar. It's truly a beautiful romance.

I loved Yong Young Shik so much! Even though he was only a side character, you could even see some character improvement on him in the way he stopped being a player for Jung Eun Chae and was all mature after meeting the right girl. Eun Chae as well became more confident in her profession and personality, so we love to see side characters bettering themselves despite not having anything to provide to the entire plot.

The romance between Ji Yeon's mom and the director was absolutely lovely. I knew since they started seeing each other that I would love all their interactions and so I did. It showed that no matter your age, you can still fall in love. It's never too late!

The office workers are something different, though. I hated every person in that office except the new assistant from Guhje Island. He was the only bearable person (besides Eun Chae, which I didn't dig at the beginning anyway, and obviously the "sexy" director). The kind of made up the annoying personality of Team Leader Byung by explaining us why he hated Ji Yeon so much and suddenly showing that he was actually competent to be Editor Chief and I kind of approved it, but his persona was the most annoying thing in the entire drama, plus Oh Jin Ri. Their acting was so off that I couldn't stand any part where they came on screen. Same with Young Shik. He only cried "팀장님" the entire time and was absolutely useless.

Now, regarding Noh Shi Hoon. I'm on the hating side. The actor is absolutely handsome and I like him, but I couldn't stand the selfishness of the character. Even his excuses sounded like bullsh*t to me. He got injured after trying to make it to the wedding? Well, it's not like he was in a comma for 6 years. He could've contacted her so many times, but he only did it at that time because it was a coincidence. It's not even like he actually went there for her.

But of course, with no ex-lover to come and wreck the main character's emotions, the drama would've made no sense, etc. But still, I hated his guts and the fact that Ji Yeon cried multiple times every single episode ever since he showed up annoyed me so much. At some point I ended skipping 3-4 scenes were she just cried alone holding whatever on her chest with no good to the plot.

But these two things aside, this drama is such a lovely noona love (I'd say my top 3) and it made me have so many emotions and I enjoyed it a lot, and also absolutely loved Park Seo Joon's OST.

I was hesitant to watch this during 6 years because I didn't really like the actress but I'm glad I eventually made my mind for it and watched it, so I will definitely give it 9.5 and totally recommend it.

Just another love story

I have been anticipating this drama because of the main leads as probably everyone else, but even though I love Jong Hyeop, I don't have many hopes for this show. Surely there's only one ep out, but by the looks of it, there won't be much going on beyond the ML pursuing the FL (read: pushing himself through her life) who has a complicated relationship with the SML until she realizes her feelings for the ML.

There wasn't anything impressive in this episode, not even the interactions between the leads, and definitely nothing that set the drama for an interesting plot. Also, this drama solidified my hatred for this very common kdrama trope of the ML taking care of an embarrassingly wasted FL. At least LHJ wasn't that badly drunk, but it really does annoy me when the FL gets drunk around a sober ML and makes a fool of herself with her tipsy walking and blabbering. It's especially annoying when this happens in the very first episode already, but I regress.

Good thing the drama will only have 8 episodes because I can already tell by the pace of this episode that the whole plot will just be the romance with nothing else relevant going on.

I'm still going to stick around though, and the leads at least will make it worth watching it since they do already have great chemistry and I love my boy Jong Hyeop, but I'm already kind of let down and can only hope it will get better and not stay as just another (plain) love story.

Cho Yi-seo queen

Ep. 8 left me in a limbo. It'd be stupid to believe Yi-seo would betray Sae-royi, but I'm afraid that whatever she's planning will be misunderdtood -if it's not planned with Sae-royi.

This drama is so perfectly made that I have 0 complaints about it. Yi-seo is mean, selfish and goal-oriented no matter what, which makes me love her since her first appearance. But what I love the most about her is that there is so much room for improvement to her character and that's what I'm looking forward to the most. I don't really know how I feel about Soo-ah yet, but I definitely don't like her as much as Yi-seo. She's a strong woman who lets nothing stand on her way too, which I love, but I'm not entirely sure about her stand yet. Also, the fact that Yi-seo and Sae-royi are complete opposites makes their dynamic so much more interesting.

On the other side, I hope we can see some character development on Sae-royi as well. We see him as the perfect man: emotional, but cold-headed enough so he plans everything out; goal-oriented, but also incredibly empathic and people-centered, so he can manage a group to reach the goal. He is perfectly balanced and has been planning his strike back at Jangga for the next 15 years and can overcome every obstacle that gets on his way without losing focus or his values. He is way too ideal, even has the perfect amount of emotional character. There MUST be something to improve on him.

Of course we've seen him grow from a hot-headed teenager who was about to kill his father's killer with his own two hands, into a man with a perfectly-planned goal for his future; not to mention that he was an asocial boy with troubles to make friends, but who now is the owner of a pub in which his main focus is to reach his goals alongside his workers who he thinks of as friends.

There has definitely been some development in his character from teenager to adult, but I'd also like to see some improvement during his adulthood, but I just can't think of what could that be because he comes off too perfect.

Anyway, I'd still need to wait until the end of the week to see what on earth is Yi-seo planning after meeting Mr. Jang. It had been a long time since a drama made me this excited while waiting for the next episode.

The Invention of Love

Deciding to finally watch this show was probably one of my best Kdrama related choices this year. I'm not very good at writing reviews (although I keep doing it because who cares) and I feel like I always say the same things but I just want to say that this drama is worth all the hype it got, every award it got, every recommendation. I didn't give it a chance when it was airing and I think it was both a mistake and a smart move, because had I watched it airing I wouldn't have been able to wait every week for the next episode considering all the cliffhangers they gave us; but it was a mistake because it would've been so cool to share everyone's emotions while it was airing. Nonetheless, no matter when I decided to start it, it was absolutely worth it. I took like 2 weeks to finish it because I work a lot, but I put 2 all-nighters and had strong headaches the next day, but again, it was definitely worth it.
Ri Jeong-hyeok and Yoon Se-ri are the definition of love. I can't get tired of saying they invented love. I have watched many dramas in the past 9 years but not many manage to deliver the strong 'in love' feeling that these two had. Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin did an incredibly amazing job at everything, every scene with them together was full of different emotions, happiness, sadness, pain, joy, distress, and everything that was supposed to produce. I don't think anyone can see them together without thinking they're the most lovable couple ever. Their chemistry as actors once again proved how amazing these two are. One thing that always makes my heart flutter is the way actors and actresses are able to look into each other's eyes and look so happy, like they actually love each other. I know that's the point of acting, but it always blows my mind to think how they're able to deliver those emotions, and Ri Jeong-hyuk and Yoon Se-ri were pros at doing this.
"I have no regrets, you came to my life as a gift. I'm just grateful for that." This is probably one of the most beautiful lines ever.
Their undying love is one of the purest demonstrations of love I have ever seen, because not once did they try to hold the other back, not once were they selfish to ask for the other to stay with them despite the circumstances; instead, they always let the other go, despite knowing how much it would hurt them, how much they would miss the other, they knew they weren't in a position to ask for more. The way they appreciated every second, every extra minute they got together makes me really think about how we should appreciate the little things and short moments we have with our loved ones before they leave our side.
I can guarantee myself that I'll have a long crush on Ri Jeong-hyuk for a long time, so I know I won't get over CLOY so soon. He was such a kind and giving person, I need a man like him in my life. I think we all do...
Yoon Se-ri is also one of the strongest FLs I've seen, as she went through so much with her disgusting family, yet she build a company by herself and became the No. 1 female CEO for several years in different competitions. She never let anyone get in her way, always knew how to handle every type of person. She was cold because she was forced to live a tough life, but deep inside she simply wanted to be heard, to be loved, to have someone on her side. And she found that person that came to her as a part of her destiny. Meant-to-be love is such a huge cliche but CLOY did it in the best way, I believe. Se-ri found the happiness she always looked for and was finally able to open herself up to someone who could handle her. I really love the balance between an outgoing, yet prudent FL, and a quiet, yet outspoken ML like Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok. Definitely go down as one of the best couples in Kdrama history.
I have written so much and still haven't talked about anything or anyone else but the main couple, when there's still so many things to appreciate about this masterpiece. Even though the MC was more than capable of carrying the whole show without any secondary characters, every side character on this show had their own story and their own development, their own little moments that made you smile or cry and they didn't have to necessarily be related to the MC to have a meaning for themselves and that's something that not every drama can do, because in many cases the side characters are just accessories to the MC or main plot, but I don't think it was the case here.
Of course, Jeong-hyeok's troop was a huge part of the MC story, but they still had their own stuff to deal with and the show gave them all a proper development and closure, making sure the viewer connected with all of them and was happy for their own success. I really loved that at the end, Pyo Chi-soo became the Captain, as he always mentioned that he was alone and had nothing to lose, so it's heartwarming to see him succeeding in life. I love all of them, but Chi-soo inadvertently stole a special spot in my heart.
I can say the same thing about the ladies from the military village. I thought they would be this gossiping old ladies that hated the FL with no reason at all, but they were absolutely the opposite. They were so caring and protective of each other, making my heart soft every time they were on screen. I loved how they protected Man Bok's wife when Cho Cheol-gang's men were going to take her. They all went with their house tools to defend her and her son and protect her at all costs! So beautiful. The way they loved and cherished Se-ri was so cute and how they even welcomed Seo Dan's mom and were all very understanding, they were really such beautiful old ladies. I loved them so much.
Now, about The Unspeakable, Gu Seung-joon. I think it's a popular feeling that he deserved to be happy and to have someone by his side who would love him until the day he dies, like Seo Dan, but also, he literally had that person at the very end so it's not like he was never able to feel happiness... Still, he deserved to live a long life with a loved one. And Seo Dan most definitely deserved so much better! Seeing her cry at the bridge broke my heart so much. I even cried (again) when telling my sister about how Gu Seung-joon dies because Seo Dan was such a sweet woman, smart, strong and driven. She deserved to be happy with the man she loved. I am glad to know she decided to live her life her own way, keeping Gu Seung-joon in her heart and loving him deeply, but I still hoped she would be happy with him. Also, when her mother was calling off the wedding with Jeong-hyeok's mom and she said "my daughter has a man in her life that she loves so much, and he loves her very much too" GOD, tears are forming now on my eyes as I type this. They deserved so much happiness!
I don't want to get in detail about Cho Cheol-gang because he was a very good villain, as he made me despise him a lot and even find him gross and disgusting, I believe the actor did a great job, but I don't really want to get into the villainous part of the show. What I did find funny was the way the NIS took everything so lightly and made it look like the South is so compassionate and kind with the North and only the North is the one that hates them. I know this may be like that at some extent, but I just find the propaganda very particularly funny.
Either way, I enjoyed this drama way too much and I'm going to miss it a whole lot, every single one of the actors did a great job and produced so many emotions on me. I really thank them for working on this wonderful show and giving me such a happy time while watching it. Unapologetically rating it 10/10.

Classic Romcom done right... with some flaws

I binge-watched this show in one sitting, which is something I hadn't done in a long while (due to lack of time or engagement with a show/some shows I watched while airing, etc.), so it's needless to say that I loved 'Love to Hate You' to bits and was hooked since the very first ep.

I really liked the whole idea and concept, I'm personally a huge fan of the fake dating & enemies to lovers trope, and I am a feminist who advocates for women's rights and speaks up against gender discrimination, and all topics related to it. So you can definitely say that this show catered to me quite well. I don't really have many issues with it because I think the characters were well-built and the plot, although uncomplicated, advanced smoothly and didn't leave any loose ends.

However, there are some things that bothered me throughout the show and I haven't seen anyone mention them. The whole show is built around feminism, gender discrimination, and misogyny presented in different environments and situations, and I think they did a pretty good job at it, but at some points, it felt like the show was trying to give a "not all men" type of narrative. It's very subtle, so it doesn't surprise me that people haven't mentioned it or even noticed it, but there were some dialogues and actions that felt contradictory considering what the drama is essentially about. An example of this is when Miran tells Naeun not to judge handsome men anymore based on her past experiences because some handsome men are actually alright. I'm not saying this is wrong, but it gives this "not all men" vibe that I don't think matches the theme of the show. Wonjun also said something like that at some point and it rubbed me the wrong way as well.

The other thing that bothered me about this show is that the entire plot is based around the concept of "I'm not like other girls." We have a sexist male lead who was attracted to this very odd and particular woman, which is completely fine and I absolutely loved her character, but even after they got together and were already lovey-dovey, he kept saying things like, "you're not like other women, all the women I knew were like this or that, women are usually this or that," etc, etc. Of course, this was his own personal experience with the women that threw themselves at him, but I thought that would be dropped at some point in the show, or that maybe Miran would say something like, "just because I'm not like that doesn't mean I'm better than them, or that they're bad women," or something along those lines. They made Kangoh a victim of the evil women and after a while, it was very overused. Actually, the only women in the show that aren't evil or airheads or gold-diggers, or similar, are the female lead and the actress. Even Miran's friend was first "too soft for her own good," but this is a trait attributed to "weak" or "dumb" women. That Grace girl was shown as only being Wonjun's friend because she wanted to be something more one day. The ex-girlfriend was, well, the main evil. And I could go on and on about the supporting female characters. I just think that pretending to make a show about feminism and anti-sexism, but adding so many stereotypically flawed female characters is, once again, contradictory to what the show attempts to speak against.

Still, I think this is one of those rare romcoms done right that are very scarce today, unfortunately, even despite my criticism. I really loved it and enjoyed every second of it (I literally watched this all night long back to back and I'm writing this review in the morning at a time when I should've already slept and woken up, but alas).

So if you're a sucker for simple shows that will give you butterflies, and make your heart flutter, this is definitely for you. The characters are good-looking, they have great chemistry, and the plot advances fast and doesn't drag out anything. I personally enjoyed it a lot despite my little complaints.

love is about adapting to each other

i feel like the story was unnecessarily dragged and that there were too many filler scenes, especially considering this was a 10 eps drama with very short runtime. i ended up fast forwarding eps 7-9, but obviously watched ep 10 in normal speed. i loved it very much, the chemistry between the leads was just as good as in s1 and the fluff filled my heart, but one ep of fluff will not make up for the dragged story that the rest of the eps were. i feel like it was unnecessarily angsty as well, although i definitely understand where jiwoo's feelings came from.

i have some complaints about it and i prefer s1 a thousand times more, but i liked how they resolved their issues by healing themselves on their own first and facing their own fears and complexes. i really liked the line that said "there is no perfect person or and there is no perfect form of love, it's just a matter of understanding and adapting to each other through love. it's about learning to speak one's mind rather than putting one's pride ahead." i've always felt like this is the most accurate definition of love and the way they portrayed it was very beautiful.

still, i don't think i can give it more than 7.5 because the story felt too dragged.

Fun short story

This is quite a nice story to watch in a lazy afternoon without expecting anything from it. It's not the greatest but it's not the worst thing you'll watch ever. It was funny and had a sort of consistent plot. I liked the idea of deities of the destiny that write your destiny as they please, and the idea of lazy deities that just copy and paste the same old story over and over again.

The cast was absolutely eyecandy, from main leads to supporting characters. They had great acting and fit for the type of drama, as well as good chemistry between all the characters. The OST was nice and the scenarios were pretty nice, the whole drama was well-filmed, so it showed it had good budget, a nice director and writers.

The angsty parts were actually very funny for me and when Chaekyung was crying at the sheep farm I was actually laughing because they suddenly turned it so angsty and dramatic. Despite that, the story developed nicely and I liked the open ending hinting a repeated cycle of Hoyoon finding himself falling for her over and over again.

If you ignore the fact that many things weren't properly explained (who lets the deities be born again, why do they disappear if they're going to be born again, why could Chaekyung get to the penthouse after 5 years, how could Chaekyung and Bareum write their own destinies other than being "their own") due to the length of the drama and overall simpleness, it was quite a fun short fantasy drama and I would definitely recommend it to get a break from longer-running dramas.

Amazing KBL

To me this is the best KBL out there so far. I loved Where Your Eyes Linger and I thought it was the best until I watched TMS. The story was very well constructed, the plot was properly developed and resolved, acting was great and chemistry had no comparison; actually better than most major channel romcoms.

The way the characters developed each other, got into each other and actually grew together in only 9x15 eps is something absolutely worth mentioning because there are whole 20 1-hr long eps dramas where you don't see anyone getting better or a plot getting resolved or handled the way this one was.

The concept was much more mature than most KBLs as they focus on high school love, which often ends up mediocre or sexualized, but this one was adult and mature love even with a bed scene that isn't even common in straight kdramas. I loved how they acted like normal people and how their reactions and actions were actually natural (unlike Color Rush). My only complaint is the restaurant owner story as there seems to be a loose string, but I can live with that.

Overall, this was an amazing short series and totally recommended.

'The World of the Married' is a roller coaster of emotions since the very first episode. The amount of times I deeply held my breath throughout the whole drama is countless. We have a group of the most realistic and flawed characters ever, I believe everyone who watches this drama can agree and say that they know at least one person for every character portrayed here. I wouldn't know how to start getting deeper about this masterpiece with this review, but I think the most important thing is to start by the main characters.

We have Ji Sun Woo as a very strong and independent woman who got to be an associate director of the most important clinic in her city and got a huge house and somewhat stable marriage all by herself and her strong personality, who found out about her husband cheating and realized that everyone around but her knew. This is such a strong first episode that got me in shock for hours, great start. We see her at her best and worst, all while trying to keep her son and getting back at her husband, or simply trying to get back on her feet despite all the things she had to go through because of a cheating husband. What I admire the most about her is that no matter how much she hit rock-bottom, even at her worst she was still able to stand up for herself and defend herself against anyone trying to humiliate her or her son. She was truly the strongest character in the whole drama, while being amazingly flawed as well. Something that I can never excuse her about is how bad of a mother she was as well (pre getting Joon Young back). Because she worked too much, she forgot that she also needed to be a caring mother and the physically emotional support for her son; financially providing isn't everything in a family, especially not for a teenager who had to go through his parents' divorce in such a dramatic way. Blaming Joon Young for his attitude through the drama is very shallow, considering how awful his parents were.

Lee Tae Oh managed to be the worst character in K-Drama history all through the end. I hated every bit of his personality, how selfish and pathetic he was, the fact that he came back to Gosan just to make his ex-wife's life miserable, when he was living well by himself and she was barely starting anew. He proved how delusional cheating men can be, especially after finding out that their ex-lover may be moving on with their lives. It's funny to think that LTO is not even a reach of a character or fictional at all; cheating men are the first to try to get back at their ex-lovers and not find peace once again in their lives. I remember pausing episode 7 or 8 multiple times when Sun Woo went to Jenny's welcoming party and how Tae Oh tried to ridicule her continuously and actually succeeded at that moment. This man really proved himself to be the worst man in history.

Lee Joon Young was obviously a brat and an incredibly annoying teenager and I could rarely understand his anger. Of course we know he was the biggest victim of their parents' mess and his attitude was simply a collateral of everything his parents did to him, directly or not. But one thing that was hard for me to get was the hatred and disgust he showed to his mom. Sun Woo was definitely an annoying mom during those 2 years for what we saw after the time slip, and I get that he must've been very annoyed at her overprotective self, but whenever he told her that he was embarrassed about her, that she was the talk of the town and he hated it, I just couldn't justify him. He grew up the closest to his dad, so it's obvious that he would be trash too, but no matter how messy his life got he really shouldn't have made his mom feel like that when all she ever did was trying to provide for him and take him away from all the mess. Of course, her love was flawed and she was unstable, but he got on my nerves so much. Though after he came back from Da Kyung's house, I definitely understood his actions more since they were a lot more rational. Overall, he was the most pitiful of every character here.

Yeo Da Kyung was my second favorite character here. Yes, the first one is Sun Woo and Da Kyung is right there. She got on my nerves a big lot in the first episodes because of her shameless attitude and how she tried to act all worthy and offended when Sun Woo told her parents about her cheating and pregnancy, but till the end she was the second strongest of everyone here. I'm not going to romanticize cheating with this statement at all, cheating IS wrong and is never excused. That's why I think that Da Kyung was such a strong lady because she put up with everyone's criticism and managed to lead a family born from breaking another family and succeed at it. Of course her family's wealth played the biggest role and it showed that even if you break a family, as long as you're rich all will be good. But her personality was still impressive, how she faced Sun Woo with her head up every time, how she held the worst in and acted like all was good when she was dying inside; even how she managed Joon Young's attitude was pretty impressive. She was quick to read through him and understand him better than his parents all his life, but still, what she did was definitely wrong and she paid the consequence of that: if someone cheated with you, they will cheat on you.

Let's get to Je Hyuk and Ye Rim. I must confess I liked Je Hyuk a lot a bit after the beginning even when he was a cheater and basically trash and I kind of supported his sleeping with Sun Woo, mainly for her but also for him and I blame myself for this, of course. He was trash at the beginning and again, he showed how cheating men only realize what they lost after they lose it and find themselves trying to get it back no matter how. Ye Rim was also very strong but I also believe her strength came a bit from lack of self-love. She knew her husband was cheating way before Sun Woo but she still put up with all that, probably because she thought she didn't deserve anything better. After time passed and they got back together, I was again rooting for them because they did look cute together and Je Hyuk did show a drastic change, so it looked like he was sincere about her. But I guess I am satisfied with the ending of these two, since rebuilding trust is a really, really hard process that takes a lot of regression and effort. I'm just a little annoyed at the portrayal of a man moving on and getting a young lover because he's hot and handsome, while the woman simply tries to live her life working for herself because she's old and can't date anyone new.

Dr. Kim Yoon Ki was the strangest character in this show. I never figure his role and I think there are a lot of people who feel like this too. We thought he would be Sun Woo's love interest and although he was definitely there for her, his feelings were never reciprocated as she never showed more emotions than a comfortable friend to hang out with. Then I thought he was there to betray her (after the conversation with Chariman Yeo) but that wasn't the case. Also thought that he may then be there for Joon Young as his permanent psychiatrist and become like a new father for him but that wasn't the case either, so at the end his character was just there as an accessory of the plot whenever it was needed. It's kind of a huge waste of a character since he had all the potential to start something with Sun Woo, even if it was just a softly hinted romance. At the end of the day, he did save her life and took care of her a lot, but she never even thanked him, nor did we get any romance line between them, so until the end I never understood his real role on the drama, so I feel like his character was just a huge waste.

The second worst character after Lee Tae Oh in this drama is Seol Myung Sook. She was selfish, hypocrite, shallow and all the worst things from a person and a friend and I don't understand why Sun Woo kept her around until the end. I don't think we even got a proper explanation about why she was such a huge hypocrite and how she kept informing Tae Oh about everything Sun Woo did, or how she didn't show any type of support for Sun Woo during the women's association meetings. I don't think a few drinks at one's house could solve all the damage she actually provoked to Sun Woo and how much she sucked whenever she was on screen. She was Sun Woo's closest friend but she never even told her about his cheating, seriously? I don't think Myung Sook ever got punishment either or something that would make her snap from her ridiculous world.

This drama had so many more remarkable characters but I don't want to make this review too long, so I'll just say that Da Kyung's parents were the worst type of parents: they support their children's decisions (good) without ever reasoning with them (bad) and then try to make up for their children's mistakes (terrible). Scolding isn't reasoning, so the fact that Da Kyung's mom scolded her a lot and tried to talk her out of that relationship with Tae Oh, they never really punish her for anything and it showed on her ability to do whatever she wanted without thinking of the consequences. I would've liked an ending that wasn't so settling for her parents, but I guess it's nice that they didn't even show them at the end.

Anyway, now to conclude this review, this drama is certainly a no-miss for people who enjoy more mature dramas, with real life situations that can teach you a lot and make you open your eyes a lot regarding marriage and many other deep topics in life. I'll definitely give it a 9.5 and anticipate most actors' future works.

Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim is a drama that you will not regret watching. It's such an amazing story that leaves to loose ends and gives you a fulfilling emotion like not many dramas do. The story never gets boring, it only involves you more and more with each character, makes you love them like if you know them in real life, each small story of every person that enters Dolbam Hospital's ER teaches you a life lesson. The drama is inspiring like not many.

This is actually the second time I watch this drama, first was when it was airing. I always wanted to get into medical school all my childhood and teenager life but for different reasons I couldn't and I wasn't in my best state of mind when I watched this drama for the first time, so seeing how passionate and smart each character was gave me a strong breakdown, made me wonder why I didn't get into medical school, why I didn't try harder, and ended up blaming myself for it.

What I mean with this is that Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim is powerful enough to even make you want the life that the characters have, or at least the passion and commitment to their job, the understanding of the meaning of being a doctor: saving lives. This is the most important thought of this drama, that each character had one goal only and it was to help as many people as possible, no matter how much they could hurt themselves by doing it, as long as the patients were fine. To me, that's such a beautiful way of living.

I like how this drama doesn't revolve around money, even though it's a strong plot point and one of the main characters is the son of an important hospital's director. He does have some privilege, but the drama is not centered around anything like that. Each character development is something beyond my mind. I found myself multiple times thinking about how good development we get with each of the mains, especially Kang Dong Joo. He owned my heart since the very beginning and I loved the man he came to be by the end. He's truly the definition of character development in each and every way possible. Also, the hottest doctor ever. Yes, I said it.

I wouldn't like to make this any longer by getting into small details, so I'll just end this review by encouraging anyone who hasn't watched this drama to stop hesitating and just click on that play button. You will really not regret it.

Good chemistry - watchable plot

My Holo Love seemed like a weird, crazy drama and nothing I would actually enjoy, but after watching the first minutes of the first episode, it somehow manages to hook you up no matter how messy or ridiculous the plot may be.

I agree with some other reviews saying the drama is full of cliches and it's difficult to tell someone that it actually is enjoyable, but it totally is. The chemistry within the main leads is believable, there's good character development from all the leads, the second couple has great chemistry too, although I would've liked to have more romance between both Nan Do & So Yeon and Yoo Jin & Chan Sung.

The pacing is enough for a 12-episodes drama, you don't really feel like there's anything rushed or slowered down, it has romance, mystery, crime, psychological issues and more and it manages to solve all the open threads smoothly and makes you feel fulfilled with how things turn out.

I wouldn't say it's the perfect drama, but it's definitely a great one to binge-watch on a lazy day off. 7.5 ?
