2. N no Tame ni
Japanese Drama - 2014, 10 episodes
A classic. Or it feels like this should be a classic. A lovely ost with a unique spin on the whole mystery aspect than what you may have watched before previously. Interesting and well-written characters, with a plot that doesn't drag out and a story that is surprisingly moving. Would seriously recommend this one, it's pretty different to anything I've ever seen before.

5. Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
the BEST of slice of life. Slow-paced, but very charming and there is character development (but is more on a subtle level than what you may be used to). The dialogue is very well-written; the exchanges between all the characters are witty and the main cast has amazing chemistry. Most of the time the episodes just revolve around the characters having long-winded discussions and debates together, but that's what makes it so entertaining! Loved all the characters in this & found myself getting very attached to them all.

6. Nagi no Oitoma
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Brilliant slice of life. Has a bit more drama and things "happening" in it than others in the genre though. Nagi is such a loveable and flawed protagonist, one of my favourite protagonists of all time. You get very attached to her and by the end of the show you just want her to be happy. The show is ultimately about her journey of finding herself, it's pretty relatable. I also love how it subverts typical romance tropes - both the love interests are majorly flawed characters who have to undergo major development. The story ultimately isn't about romance, but each of the characters trying to find what's meaningful to them. Overall a very charming and well-written drama.

8. Better Days
Chinese Movie - 2019
Explores both loneliness and the impact of bullying. . A very atmospheric and moving film. An ost that melds very nicely with the beautiful cinematography along with excellent acting from both the main leads. Made me cry with the ending :)

9. Last Friends
Japanese Drama - 2008, 11 episodes
Although it dangerously veers off into the melodramatic territory in some parts and has a couple of pacing issues, I still have to highly-recommend this due to the touching nature of how the characters and their friendships with each other are written. There's something so original and down to earth about this whole drama, and by the end the characters feel more like actual real people you have become friends with. A story that is bound to stay with you~
