Best Villain Portrayal/Characters
Sometimes, the villain character is so well acted you will start to like them.

1. The Legend of the Condor Heroes
Hong Kong Drama - 1983, 59 episodes
Michael Miu as Ying Kang.
I thought Ying Kang was the epitome of a villain character. And Michael's portrayal is the best out there. It is just that believable.
Bonnie Wong as Mei Xiao Fong
I just loved her acting so much. I think the great dubbing had helped but I strongly believed in her acting skills onscreen as well.
Should I add that their roles are as teacher and pupil as well? Haha great combination!

2. Story of Yanxi Palace
Chinese Drama - 2018, 70 episodes
Wang Mao Lei as Yuan Chun Wang blackened when he felt that his "sister" betrayed him by breaking her promise with him and returned to the palace for yet another revenge plot.
Seeing him as a protector for Wei YinLuo was a bliss. I was sad to see that he has turned himself against the very person that he cared the most. And yet I understood his distress. I would have liked to see a better outcome for him: death. Because I liked him so very much, I thought that the script failed at wrapping a nice conclusion to this character. To stay coherent with the time and story, they needed to kill him off, regardless of him turning insane or not. I was upset and very disappointed to see my favourite villain from that drama not meeting the right end.
The drama wasn't bad. Scriptwise, it was interesting despite the many sequences that were so obviously borrowed from previous similar theme dramas. I needed to lower my rating because of the last 5 episodes.
Still, Wang Mao Lei, despite, the narrative, delivered a memorable viewing experience to me. He was very much into his character. I loved it so very much. He might have been a villain. But he was a well-acted villain.

3. Nirvana in Fire
Chinese Drama - 2015, 54 episodes
Victor Huang as Xiao Jing Huan.
His villain portrayal through all the drama was consistent. Until the last scene when he confronted the emperor. The emotion was raw. I loved it so much.
I found a quick recap here.

4. Noble Aspirations
Chinese Drama - 2016, 58 episodes
Mao Zi Jun as Qin Wu Yen.
I just loved his character so much. I know Bi Yao and Xiao Fan are meant to be together. But if the drama were to not follow the novel, I would prefer Bi Yao with Qin Wu Yen.

5. The Duke of Mount Deer
Hong Kong Drama - 1984, 40 episodes
Lisa Lui as the Queen Dowager was great! I liked her villainess style quite a bit. Although I was also a bit scared of her when I first saw her during my childhood. I thought she was too ruthless haha...
She was also Li Mo Chui in the Return of the Condor Heroes. Needless to say, she was great there too.
And a double role in the blood-stained Intrigue drama
I think I prefer her in roles as a villain character more than anything. She has the charm for it.

6. The Defected
Hong Kong Drama - 2019, 30 episodes
Special mention for Kara Hui. Her character was overly ambitious which had led her astray. Still, her character might have been one of the most believable along with Bingo ... Who worked for\against her.
Let's see if she'll win best actress for this drama as speculated.

7. Legend of the General Who Never Was
Hong Kong Drama - 1985, 20 episodes
Wong Man Yee acted as the main villain. And she was great in it. She totally fitted her character.
She has portrayed good roles as well as being the protagonist. But I just love her facial expression as a vicious character. One of my favourite villains of all time.
My few favourite scenes:
- When Liu Kai Chi and Jun Xiong were about to reveal her identity by slapping her, knowing that she can't fight back. She stared back at Jun Xiong and said: "You dare?" And he replied back: "Why [would I] not dare!" and resume slapping her. Her glare was great to watch!
- When she was about to cook Alex's character in a steamer, Alex cried out: "I'm not a pig!". Then she just casually replied:" Don't deny it." Major LOL

8. Guardian
Chinese Drama - 2018, 40 episodes
Zhu Yi Long as Ye Zun acted three characters in this drama. And I liked them all. But as the actor said himself. He liked Ye Zun character the most. I feel the same.
Visually appealing factor put aside ( I just love men in white! ), the character itself can show a range of emotion. I thought Zhu Yi Long was the perfect actor for this role.
