Completed Thai Dramas
When there's a gl on this list, that is the day I die of happiness.
Funnily enough aside from F4 Thailand, everything on this list so far is Bl, even though I swear I've watched some straight Thai things before.
[Edit: I have died of happiness]

1. Until We Meet Again
Thai Drama - 2019, 17 episodes
Heartwrenching, but did you have to cry *every* episode?
-
2. 2gether
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
bl for the straights, but not in a bad way
-
3. Still 2gether
Thai Special - 2020, 5 episodes
This was a whole level up from 2gether, but like them putting that goddamn call me by your name poster up as the first piece of decoration in their apartment never fails to crack me up
-
4. SOTUS
Thai Drama - 2016, 15 episodes
Iconic for a reason
-
5. SOTUS S
Thai Drama - 2017, 13 episodes
One of the few sequels even better than the original, and yes I know this is a not very widely held opinion
-
6. TharnType
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Yuck
-
7. Bad Buddy
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
I WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS
'It's the kitchen, Pran, it's not a porno!' if you know you know
If you haven't watched it yet please don't judge it by the above quote that's literally in the last extra scene I promise this show is fantastic

8. Fish Upon the Sky
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
The only thing stringing this show together was chemistry and comedy, when will stalker behaviour become a thing of the past in the romance genre?? There was a decent attempt at symbolism at least
-
9. Boys Over Flowers
Thai Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
A modern classic filled to the brim with careful symbolism = I am obsessed. It did have its flaws however, one of which decreases its rating by 0.5 stars
-
10. Stalker
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
The definition of a mixed bag because whilst this series is surprisingly (you have to get past the first few eps, not for the faint of heart when it comes to secondhand embarrassment) a really important step forwards for queer representation in bls, it simultaneously misses the mark in its portrayal of Toh's stalkerish/collector tendencies. I say this because whilst I love the atypical and bold choice to tackle the development of a character who secretly and obsessively collects items related to his crush instead of approaching him due to his insecurity, I just don't think it was taken seriously enough as a major issue by the people around him. However Nuea and Toh are literally a perfectly matched couple in their weirdness, and the supporting cast were amazing (Daisy is an ICON).

11. Star and Sky: Star in My Mind | Sky in Your Heart
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Mostly bad acting (there were moments of goodness and the supporting cast were fine/good), bland story that was confusing at times but they were cute after they started dating I guess?
Clearly my stubbornness in continuing to watch in order to get resolution to drawn out suffering drama is half the reason I refuse to drop shows like this.
Someone said this show was on bl plotline autopilot: my god is that hugely accurate

12. KinnPorsche
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
This was one of those series that captivated me wholly in some of its aspects. It had some phenomenal acting with particularly standout performances from Bible and Apo, and some of the characters felt like realistic constructions. The lighting is some of the best I've seen in a bl series and dramas in general.
There were however several writing problems, mostly to do with the first few eps being a bit tonally different and with less progression than they should have had than the rest of the series has, as well as the progression and general execution of Vegaspete (definitely the most interesting atypical relationship explored) being too fast for its content. The final episode was also a terrible end to the series, with a lack of properly executed conclusion for most of its characters nor a setup for a possible following season.
One thing I have to note about the central theme of morality: lack of consent, honesty and generally bad decisions have consequences for the characters it wants you to eventually root for in some way. I appreciated this and thought redemption was handled as best as they could within the time restrictions. However, Kinn's actions towards Porsche when he was drugged went too far for me to be ok with them. It did not make logical sense with the resources available to him, and whilst the series displays how this affected Porsche deeply and negatively with Kinn apologising sincerely it just was not taken seriously enough as an issue in my opinion. I understand that the characters are living in the cruel and often morally corrupt world of the mafia and act according to this (Kinn's and Vegas' behaviour being products of their environments), however, it still makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable with the relationship between Kinn and Porsche since Kinn seems to be aware of his actions being wrong throughout. Kinn undergoes character development and Porsche truly chooses him, something I think is important to bear in mind though.

13. Cutie Pie
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I finally dragged myself through the final episode of this nonsensical plotline full of unnecessary drama and mediocre acting. The only reason this is 6.5 and not any lower is the production quality and the message of marriage equality for queer people in Thailand being an important one.
Other than this, there were so many things unexplained that just did not make sense throughout. I started this series because the concept of arranged marriage in a bl set in a country without legal marriage equality was an intriguing one, but they failed entirely in delivering an interesting exploration of this. Instead, we got drama over stupid miscommunication dragged out until the final episode, forceful manipulation between couples being glossed over or romanticised, and because they just had to include it; non-con. And somehow, even with all this drama going on, it STILL managed to be boring.
Only the third couple Syn and Nuer were cute and unproblematic, even though Nuer's initial intentions towards Kuea were completely unexplained. There was good chemistry between everyone!! I liked the secretary!! Perth was there!!

14. Love Storm
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
Why I watched this, I don't know. Why I continued to watch it, I also do not know. Why I finished it I REALLY DO NOT KNOW.
someone ring me up when Thai bls have consent and consistent plotlines but most importantly CONSENT. I just want to watch characters with good chemistry fall in love not sexually assault each other as part of it please and thank you

15. GAP
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I have died of happiness.
Considering this show's objective flaws (strange tilted shots in almost every frame, mediocre/bad acting on the cast's part Freen not included, lack of an interconnected narrative, problematic nature of Sam's behaviour not fully addressed in the show etc.), perhaps this should be rated lower than my 8.5 rating.
And yet I do not care. This is the kind of show we sapphics have been screaming into the bl aether about for eons. Finally having a full-length gl in which the characters are not sexualised for the male gaze is such a huge breath of fresh air, and I hope it only gets better from here.
Also we better be getting some kind of TeeYuki content at some point: they interacted literally once and poof! they magically became a couple

16. Bed Friend
Thai Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
This show had an important message to tell, and whilst it did deliver on that, it was not necessarily the best execution. Emptiness is the main descriptor that comes to mind when I think about it, because so many of the scenes and plotlines were unecessarily drawn out (what is up with the director not letting people have normal pacing in conversation scenes? why were there long-ass pauses between each line??? one of life's biggest mysteries fr).
The editing was also very questionable, and there were moments of weak acting but I did somewhat enjoy the experience, and unlike HALF THE BL INDUSTRY sexual trauma is treated as something very real and significant.

17. Ready, Set, Love
Thai Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
Funnily enough only the second Thai show I've watched with a straight couple at its centre, but I adored it for all its overall and often queer representations of real love opposed to corrupted somehow still heteronormative in a world of women dystopia.
Too short, some of the overacting was a bit too much (although it is stylised and does not speak to the actors but the director) and a few too many characters were still 2d-ish by the 6th episode yet its uniqueness aesthetics and general execution with heart make this show truly worth a watch.

18. Reverse 4 You
Thai Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
