  • Autumn Tale

    8. Autumn Tale

    Korean Drama - 2000, 16 episodes

    10

A classic Korean drama from the year 2000, kicking off the Hallyu Wave. Time has only served to enhance its allure, cementing its status as a timeless classic. Its poignant portrayal of life's injustices resonates deeply,  bittersweetness and tragedy that tugs relentlessly at the heartstrings. It is truely a  melodrama in its purest form, each scene  crafted with a sensitivity that pierces the soul. Brace yourself for a  journey of emotions as you embark on this rollercoaster ride of love and loss. It is certainly one of the most depressing shows, I've watched.

  • Mirror of the Witch

    9. Mirror of the Witch

    Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes

    9.0

This drama is rather unique for the time it aired. The dark and intriguing plot line left me eagerly anticipating each new episode week after week. Despite the noise around the significant age gap between the two main leads at the time - Their on-screen chemistry was very good, making them feel like the perfect match.

  • Hi! School - Love On

    10. Hi! School - Love On

    Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes

    9.0

This drama is a sweet mixture of tween romance with  the mystical element of angels. My younger self was drawn to re-warching this drama from time to time by its blend of comedy and heartwarming fluff. However, I'm unsure that it would hold the same appeal for me now, in my older years.

  • Angry Mom

    11. Angry Mom

    Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes

    8.5

This drama dives deep into the dark and harrowing world of school bullying in contrast to 'School 2015' another drama airing at the same time. While both shows are amazing, there is a special space in my heart for this gem because of the beautifully intertwined story of a mending mother-daughter relationship that resonated with me like no other.

  • Moștenitorii Chaebolurilor

    12. Moștenitorii Chaebolurilor

    Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes

Cliché - Yes, but I loved it. Simplest plot but it reminds me of the good old days I spent watching K-drama with friends.

There's always a sense of nostalgia every time I hear the OST.  The drama that started my long-time admiration of Park Shin Hye!

  • Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

    13. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

    Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes

I had watched the OG Version and it was so sad, the visuals in the Korean Ver was definitely better and I was equally invested in Hae Soo's journey. Still waiting for a season 2.

  • Dragoste sub Clar de Lună

    14. Dragoste sub Clar de Lună

    Korean Drama - 2016, 18 episodes

Kim Yoo Jung really really suits playing historical dramas and this one was no exception. She was just as amazing as a remember. I remember that this aired around the same time as Moon Lovers and my friends and I were fighting over which one to watch first.

  • Agentul K2

    15. Agentul K2

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    8.5

I started watching K2 because I'm a huge YOONA Stan and was extremely excited to see her play a new role that was not a cupboard copy typical female lead.

I was not disappointed - Her portrayal of Anna was suffered childhood trauma was amazing.

Matched really well with a bodyguard thriller action plot.

  • While You Were Sleeping

    16. While You Were Sleeping

    Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes

    8.5

I remember that this drama had a really interesting and captivating plot at the time of its release and I reckon it could still stand the test of current K-drama standards.

I can't really remember the plot of whole lot but I know that this drama made me love in love with SUZY.

    I think it's time for a re-watch some time....

  • Regele, Monarhul Etern

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    8.5

One of the more recent dramas on the list, I was missing Goblin and wanted to watch something with a similar vibe. This definitely fixed it, Lee Min Ho was just as charismatic playing a prince and Kim Go Eun role was just as good as in Goblin.

  • Sandglass

    18. Sandglass

    Korean Drama - 1995, 24 episodes

  • Goblin

    20. Goblin

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    8.5

Goblin has absolutely memorising cinematography, OST and a very engaging and interesting plot.

It was very iconic  at the time of its release and it definitely deserved all of its hype and viewership.

This drama has elements of everything in it and you'll be invested into every single character you meet.

  • Dragoste Neașteptată

    21. Dragoste Neașteptată

    Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes

    8.5

I originally discovered this drama because TAEYEON sang the OST for it.

Being a melodrama which I'm a absolute sucker for, the acting from all the cast especially the two main lead is exceptionally amazing.

Don't be put off because I'm the blind female lead plot - it doesn't subtract to the story at all but makes it a whole lot better.

Its a gradual love story that leave you felling like all the characters deserved a better ending even though they did do some things wrong.

  • Flower of Evil

    22. Flower of Evil

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

  • Hong Chun Gi

    23. Hong Chun Gi

  • Penthouse

    24. Penthouse

    Korean Drama - 2020, 21 episodes

    9.5

It may be a makjang k-drama but the plot twists and unexpected turns the plot is  highly commendable. I freaking loved Shim Su Ryeon - favourite character from start to fin  and her friendship with Yeon Hee.

  • Defendant

    27. Defendant

    Korean Drama - 2017, 18 episodes

  • Big Mouse

    28. Big Mouse

    Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes

    8.0

Big Mouth was a highly anticipated drama because it was released by Disney +.

From the very first episode, I was invested on finding who was Big Mouth?

Whilst it was a bit of an  underwhelming reveal, it was a very thrilling ride when Chang Ho started to embody Big Mouth.

This drama has a lower rating from me compared to other dramas on the list. But it's here because it is one of the few K-Drama where we get to witness an almost 20 year long love story between the two leads. The meaning of being a wife that was portrayed by Yoona.

YOONA's acting especially towards the end really stole the show. I was invested in the ending of her character's plot more than anything. Mi Ho is one of the most selfless , brave and wise female leads in a k-drama. It was just so heartbreaking to see just how much more she loved the male lead than he loved her. TT

  • Extraordinara Avocată Woo

    29. Extraordinara Avocată Woo

    Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes

    8.5

Extraordinary Attorney Woo remind me a lot of the fondness I had watching Good Doctor (also on this list).

The rise of the most unlikely hero and how everyone can overcome even the most difficult of challenges in life.

It is a very heartwarming story and I really got invested in her journey and found myself tearing up at some points.

  • King the Lander

    30. King the Lander

    Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes

    8.5

I usually don't watch a lot of rom-coms but this one was an absolutely delight to watch!.

Many episodes filled with the leads supporting each other, falling deeper and deeper in love with each other  and dealing with problems without dramatic  or overly absurd plot lines.

Their relationship was such a green flag!

  • Demonul Șarmant

    31. Demonul Șarmant

    Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes

    8.5

Finally get to see Kim Yoo Jung  act as a heiress! Her acting is top-tier as expected and enjoyed watching her great chemistry with Song Kang.

Our Do Do Hee is one of my favourite k-drama  female leads.

  • Queen of Tears

    32. Queen of Tears

    Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes

    8.5

Kim Ji Won -  Her Acting was Amazing and was the reason I stayed until the very end.

Her character has to be one of my favourite k-drama FL - Strong, Independent, Kind, Funny, Brave, Girl Boss Vibes, Loyal ,  Soft-hearted, & Self-less wife.

The last two eps ~ felt like a different drama. The drama heavily carried by both KJW & KSH acting & Chemistry.
