Top Kdramas of the 2000s

The one that started a lot of Kdrama obsessions, including mine. Curious to see the remake if it is ever produced.

Epic saga following three siblings in the 60s and 70s. I miss these big ambitious projects, we don't really get them anymore. 

A very unexpected blend of well-worn tropes and indie, slice-of-life vibes. It has been copied to death since but it was quite fresh when it came out. 

Innovative at the time for its flawed heroine, a welcome departure from pure-hearted girls in romances and melodramas. 

One of the Hong sisters' best work. 

A heartfelt saga about the struggles of a young butcher who becomes a surgeon in a Joseon on the brink of collapse. Very old school but very gripping.

A visual wonder. It has a lot of classic tropes but they are so well executed with so much craft you barely notice them.

One of the best reverse-harem and cross-dressing drama out there. 

Angsty and melancholic but also very sincere and realistic about abusive relationships. Jung Yumi and Eric Moon are wonderful in this.

Started my obsession with revenge thrillers and Lee Jun Ki. Very inspired by classic Hong Kong movies about undercover agents.
