Dramas watched before 2020
Vague notes because it's been awhile for some of these
-
1. Ești Chiar Chipeș!
Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes
absolute hot mess but hilarious. drags in the later episodes.
-
2. City Hunter
Korean Drama - 2011, 20 episodes
Requires A LOT of suspension of disbelief but if you can lean into it, it has a lot of action and heart- it's very shakespearean at times.
-
3. Akumu-Chan
Japanese Drama - 2012, 11 episodes
Absolutely buckwild. Gackt was there.
-
4. Alias: Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Ending is a little rushed but overall Healer is about as perfect as I can ask for. Big Clark Kent/Louis Lane vibes in the best way but on repeat viewing (because it is more than good for a rewatch), I have a lot of love for Moon-ho's character arc and the many family relationships
-
5. Cinderella's Sister
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
baby's first makjang. Eunjo's hair is the best character. CW for corporal punishment (whipping)
-
6. Angry Mom
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Darker than expected and a lot of suspension of disbelief required but enjoyable for what it is. CW for sexual assault
-
7. Bring It On, Ghost
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Messy and predictable but fun!
-
8. Cititorul Gândurilor
Korean Drama - 2013, 18 episodes
I was hit/miss on the romance and the pace drags any time they're in a courtroom. But has one of the best female leads ever, and her petty but ultimately positive rivalry with the second FL gives me life.
-
9. MR. BRAIN
Japanese Drama - 2009, 8 episodes
stupid and highly inaccurate but fun. gackt was also there???
-
10. School 2013
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
Ultimately a bit messy and drags but has a memorable bromance [ymmv on the gay but also Hello???]
-
11. Heartstrings
Korean Drama - 2011, 15 episodes
i can barely remember anything about this one and that's not a compliment
-
12. Suflete Pereche
Korean Drama - 2013, 17 episodes
Solid, but the ending was a bit meh
-
13. Miss Sherlock
Japanese Drama - 2018, 8 episodes
Honestly not exactly anything new, but it's solid and Takeuchi Yuko is an amazing version of Sherlock
