This was a very enjoyable mystery drama set in western Republic of China. The three leads were lots of fun to watch and benefited from many "chance" encounters that helped them to solve crimes. The 8 cases were linked by a common thread, but the criminal mastermind was not obvious until quite close to the end. No romance, but Wu Xize looked gorgeous in this.

This is SOLID. Well done slice of life style drama with heavy focus on the lead CPs romance. The kiss scenes are very well done, and there was a good sprinkling of humor to leaven the heavier topic of dealing with death [The ML is a mortician.] Recommended.

Overall, this was a decent watch. I liked it as a "palace intrigue drama" better than most because it was a little more focused on the personal romantic drama of the lead CP than most. But the 2FL got far too much screen time, IMO.

All in all this was a very enjoyable watch, and it's very bingeable.
Plusses: plot balanced between moments of action and "poetry"; excellent visuals of people, especially costumes; solid character portrayal by the young male actors. But Vengo Gao Weigang really, really, carried this drama.
