shows i've watched in 2022

heard bad reviews but literally wasn't expecting it to be so bad T-T

i understand the hype over it, but can't help feeling that they could've done more to fill up the plot holes

just a wholesome adventure of three good mates

i feel so bad for the members having to do high rise tasks when some of them are literally super afraid of heights. although the brotherhood between the 5 of them was sweet to watch

it's better than expected
if only FL made decisions based on what she want instead of just following along ML. 

can't compare to season one.. not sure if its due to Liu Hao Ran not being there or the games..

the rest of the show was entertaining, really gave insight into the everyday life of firefighters in china 

simply can't stand Wang Li Xin, that dude's way too arrogant.  was really glad Ye Zi outlasted him >:) 

watched this show for Wang Jun Kai, but some of the bands really grew on me as the show documented their growth. Really like Tarzan although the name is bit cringe hahaha
on the other hand, WineQ's attitude with Qi Wei really made me sad. She was literally shopping for drummers instead of treating them as people. 

best performance in my humble opinion was the one wang jun kai did with Huo Xin Fei Xing Qi!! 

this group of guys are very fun together, originally watched for jackson + bai jing ting + jing bo ran, but loved how each of them cared for one another as episodes went on.
as a variety show, some of the activities they did feels a little too much especially with yang shuo's injury and fears.

my timid self cant handle it, but the overall show was not bad. 

it's captivating to keep me wanting more despite being scared to watch. but i gotta say, shen yi is way too op with his art skills. 

warm moments paired with delicious homemade foods 

yet another season of tasty food and warm moments shared among friends. addition of peng yu chang really adds to the charm.

FL was a bitch who was simply stringing ML along.
ML deserves so much more.

watched it on my flight to london, it was a good comedy, story was a little basic but hey, what can you do with only 2 hours of screen time 

finally powered through it to mark it as completed.
the synopsis of the story really captured me but boy was it a drag to watch. from the start where FL just didnt want to interact with ML at all, to all of a sudden being okay. and then the whole annoyance of 2ML, and somehow they gotta throw in her boss too?? 

second couple and FL's friends didnt add much to the charm of the show either.

although i will say, ML is really kinda dream-worthy....
2ML would be dream-worthy too if you actually like him

watched it for wang jun kai~ 

im not sure if im just not cut out for crime thriller but i honestly got bored halfway through. the case just feels like it has been dragging on for toooooooo long.  especially the last part with "Mister", my boy wen jie was being played by "Mister" for far too long :( really wished wen jie couldve figured it out sooner. also annoyed me a little with all the small things that happens just because the plot required it!! was also curious as to how "Mister" did all of his dirty work, wish we got more of an insight to him.
what was that ending though?? the whole romantic relationship between wen jie and the girl from school felt absolutely unnecessary! they literally barely had any interaction aside from that one small case that involved her friend. 

nonetheless, this was still more entertaining than under the skin for me. though im not sure if i would watch a second season if there was one

went in for peng yu chang, came out crying.
zifeng's last line really struck a chord in me, i hope they get reunited. 

about as typical of itazura na kiss as it can get.
maybe because its only a 2 hour movie, i can stand the cringe of the entire story

the show teaches you that even without the one you love or the one who loves you, life still goes on. and as sad as it may be, nothing you can do can bring them back.. 

classic paik style cooking - non-korean foods that isnt very authentic
aside from that, some locations were more fun to watch than others. 

slow start, but the details of the crime was pretty interesting

came for the lawyer-child interaction, turns out child was just a tool in the plot for him to be screwed over in his career (sob)
entirety of the show was pretty boring, had it run in the background

didn't really enjoy it, activities done in certain locations were pretty boring such as the job search in first episode, or the dancing one, or the volley ball one :L
last 3 episodes were interesting though! 

i never realised how much henry carried the fun of the show until he didn't show up for this season. the entire show felt boring and even at times, hard to carry on watching. when he finally showed up for the finale, it finally felt right.

not too bad, first time watching this series.
i enjoyed the puzzle solving parts way more than the horror parts (":

simply wasnt as entertaining as season 1, not sure if its due to the change in cast members, or just the experiments that they were doing..
wish theyd just kept jackson and  authur while adding cheng cheng in 

watched this for zhai xiao wen, and the fact that the novel is too long (":
lu si cheng is a realistic and dreamy boyfriend to have, but aside from that the story was kinda eh. nothing to bash about, nothing to boast about. 

there was a loooooot of comments saying this is better than 2019, but having watched the entire thing, i still prefer 2019's. maybe its the constant change in classes that felt like there was a lack of cohesiveness between all of the students. daily lives of trainees weren't showed as much too :L 

i guess the content from actual rooms will differ greatly to a big open concept area T^T 

interesting addition to have compared to 2019, gave more insight into their practices but the editing feels a little off..? 

loved Wu Ke Qun's team, from their performances to their practice sessions, and overall interactions between the members

not sure if my take on this has been skewed by watching the drama before this, but i feel like the interaction between the two leads was a little too much? in the drama it was more subtle with little actions showing their affection, felt more innocent. whereas in here, they're just straight up acting like a couple :L 

but i do agree with the way they did the ending where they met after 7 years, it definitely gave more explanation than the drama did. 

it's not bad, but it's not good.
gives the vibe of "if disney channel/nickelodeon made a korean drama" 

comfy cafe run by 4 dudes, some characters felt a little more dramatised compared to the anime but i guess thats why it's called a drama innit. was a little lost as to why they tried to add in the covid19 pandemic... it was completely unnecessary to the story.
overall, i did enjoy watching it like i had with the anime :3

realistic, bittersweet, with a touch of sadness for the ending.. 

man just can't get a break, it's so heart breaking seeing him have so many setbacks :(
jackson and ha lin really felt like a real pair of siblings

stumbled upon this and decided to give it a chance

felt really weird that they invited authur to join seeing as he was only just 18 at the time of fliming this show, not to mention just dumping some random kids on him too?? (but seriously why did the kids parents even do that) 

whole premise of the show felt a little dull, always the same gimmick of "finding our mums/wives". i felt like it couldve been better if it was just "prove you could take care of your child well, dad".

onto the kids, lucky was definitely the kid with the most screen time. rightfully so with her cuteness and "variety show factor". Little Nine was adorable too although at times a little bratty, but hey he's only 3 afterall. the twins were soooo obedient, adding wholesomeness to the bunch as well.
for the dads, honestly it seems like only lucky's dad, nathan, knew what he was doing. from the way he does her hair, to what she likes/dislikes. TJ and JT's dad on the other hand could honestly do better. the way he just assumes the older son was wrong without assessing the situation  is messed up, especially when most of the time, the fault lies in the younger son. 

overall, not the best show, but i guess it's mildly entertaining enough as a show to watch when there's nothing else to watch.

interactions between the celebrities were entertaining, especially when henry came to visit
makes me wonder if the way henry acted in Back to Field was partly influenced by his experience here 

not sure if i agree with the 'mission' of cutting jackson's hair... the show never showed if they had asked his mum if it was okay prior to cutting his hair, neither did they ask what was his mum's wish regarding treating him as a girl/boy :L can't imagine entrusting my child to go on a show and coming back with a major haircut that i've never agreed to 

not sure why, but it seems to have lost part of its charm from season one.. maybe its the excessiveness of the house, or maybe just the interactions between the kids and celebrities felt more scripted with all the activities the show have them doing. MVP of this season was definitely Xiao Tong and Qian Xi. 

synopsis reminds me of legally blonde, except maybe less entertaining..
also got scammed by the synopsis lmao, legit thought she was running for presidency, turns out it was just a seat in the parliament or something(im not great with politics)? 

super cute fluffy romance without drama at all, really enjoyed it.
a simple turn-your-mind-off, stress free type of show.

also for the first time, i feel that jie-di relationship didnt feel cringe/yucky at all hahah
MLs were all so lovable, which made me feel really bad for 2ML, not because 1ML were not good enough compared to 2ML, but simply 2ML deserved someone as well
i loved 2FL's interaction with her guy too!! it was so sweet aaaaaaa
only felt bad for Gao Yuan (2FL's friend), clearly loved 2FL but never acted on it in fear of losing her.. i guess it just shows that maybe in life, you need to take some risks.. but i do understand where hes coming from. though i do have to say him liking her was a little subtle, he covered it up really well (or maybe the script was just badly written to make him have an unrequited love) 

i swear this show just gets worse with each season. im really glad for the ban of such show so this trash couldnt continue on. 

this season's kids were honestly kinda bratty (the little 2 year olds) compared to those of a similar age from previous season. kids also barely had a personality to make them likable except maybe ha lin and jackson. 

show got less realistic as well by incorporating all those games and travelling. it feels scripted almost. just all around not great anymore. only saving grace was the celebrities as usual. 

beginning where they were all kids were the best part of the show! the young actors really made it fun.
as they went back to strawberry world, the whole story got kinda draggy :s
also whenever her dad was out doing stuff (gambling, collecting stuff from office, buying groceries) worried me so much that i simply couldnt focus on her and pei zhi going on dates lmao  
pei zhi's mum is also bit wack for thinking that studying math caused her dad to be mentally ill instead of simply not having supportive family!!
all in all, best guy is ji jiang aka hua juan!! he deserved so much more and honestly the only normal guy in the whole show. cheese pei zhi might be just slightly better than strawberry pei zhi

tbh, there's still parts where im confused about. why did she appeared in cheese world if cheese pei zhi was the one who set it all up in strawberry world? who was that "strawberry" zhao xi that cheese pei zhi met? also whats up with that ending where it turns out to be all a story?? seems like such a shit take at closing up this case >:( 

started out so strong (with only 2FL being annoying) but fizzled out after half way.

worst character, 2FL. she simply cant respect others decisions neither does she seem to understand what privacy is. sure is a good worker though, disrespecting and annoying everyone just to make sure the company does well lol 

ML needs to find his backbone. literally became a model just because the girl he fancies say that modelling is a great career for him without even knowing how he is at work nor did she know how much he liked his writing. also what was up with him not fighting harder for his privacy??? 2FL was pushing his boundaries so hard with his book and he just accepted it?? 

FL started out being a headstrong person, but ended up being annoying by not seeing anyone elses perspective at all. at the start of the show, strongly influenced ML to become a model, only to say that she didnt mean for him to be that kind of model towards the end of the show. when ML went and do stuff for her regarding the better of her career (or what she has been talking about for almost the entire half of the show) she claimed she didn't even want it and that ML was forcing her. does she not realise that she literally did the same at the start when she made ML choose the model path??

i really thought i'd be liking this show when i first started watching it. only to arrive at the point where i have to watch it at 2x playback speed so i could finish it asap. story wouldve probably been better if it was 16 eps or something. so much useless crap happened during the middle of the show. 

I CAME LOOKING FOR A HAPPY ENDING I LEFT WITH A SAD ENDING >:( 

FL deserved someone so much better than ML, but with the way ML was acting at his own wedding at the end, gives me hope that ML still loves FL and that his current wedding might just end 

honestly, ML had so many chances to chase after FL after he fucked up, but he never did :( 

they changed too much in the movie and somehow it was still super fast paced.

location of zhen hua is somehow in the south of china now (no snow at all), the whole original meeting of huai nan and luo zhi has changed as well (not sure why luo zhi like this kid so much lol he literally didnt do much compared to the other editions of this story), the way luo zhi and wen rui are somehow close friends now??  

everything just went zoom, family court case, interactions with huai nan in schools, etc!
but i do like the ending where they made it that huai nan knew luo zhi was the girl he has been looking for all these while

such a weird concept but truly the essence of k-variety.

loved the kang-cles family! they were all so fun to watch, with all the uncles doting on little kang hoon. would watch a series where they just do family-esque stuff tbh.
waybin family was a joy to watch too, they really gave off the vibes of siblings being together.

the couples... it just bit awkward and weird. pretty much skipped all their scenes together

some cases were definitely more scary than others (im bad with such stuff to begin with hahahah) but it was really fun seeing them solve the cases. one thing i dont like about it is probably when they spilt up into two groups to visit different sites. id prefer if they all went as different people mightve different takes on the evidence/clues shown. nonetheless, not a bad watch. a little disappointed with the ending though but oh well

this was one boring show. i do not understand the hype over it.
all of the characters were annoying except for that musician friend, the artist guy, and the small little company FL and ML joined in the end.

FL was so easily swayed by her annoying class monitor friend (who doesn't understand how to respect people's choices), and went to bug ML even though he said no. ML has some superior complex that doesn't want to communicate with everyone else. 2ML doesn't know how to remove himself from toxic situations and just ended up turning into an asshole who ruins peoples' lives (the ending he got was so unjustified). 3ML killed 2 people due to circumstances he put the victims in and yet he got absolutely no retribution??
FL parents (especially the mum) are so unreasonable, and FL doesn't even try to stand up for herself. simply can't understand how FL mum can be someone in education with the way she holds prejudice on "bad" students. 

the entire story was just boring with a capital B. a total waste of my time, i'm not sure why i even pushed myself to finish it. 

started out alright, turned into a mess halfway through! 

the editing of the show completely butchered the show!! important scenes such as the confession(s) between the leads and becoming a couple was completely glanced past. blink and you'll miss it completely. parts of the story was jumping from one area to another as well. 

characters wise, theyre all pretty bland except maybe Gu Qiao Bei.
