SBS unveils the cast of the upcoming music K-drama 'Spring of the Four Seasons'
Despite a one-week hiatus, the ratings of When the Phone Rings continued to gain popularity.
On December 14, Nielsen Korea released the ratings for episode 5 of When the Phone Rings which aired yesterday. The K-drama achieved an average nationwide rating of 5.9 percent, a slight rise from the previous episode.
Last week, episodes 5 and 6 were supposed to premiere but due to the impeachment proceedings in South Korea, the airing was postponed.
Episode 6 will premiere today at 9:50 PM KST. Before the premiere, MBC released several still cuts as well as a pre-release clip to tease viewers on what to expect in the upcoming episode.
In recently released teaser photos, the main leads were seen on a team outing with colleagues. Despite their secret relationship, Baek Sa Eon was determined to stay close to Hong Hee Joo throughout the event. Though Hong Hee Joo felt awkward, they still enjoyed the games together. However, a crisis disrupted the fun outing.
When the Phone Rings tells the story of a couple of three years who got together through an arranged marriage. The couple were leading separate lives within their marriage, but their routine was disrupted when the wife was mysteriously abducted. The K-drama based its story on the popular web novel of the same name published on Kakao Page.
Yoo Yeon Seok, Chae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Jun, Jang Gyu Ri, Jin Kyung, and Han Jae Yi are the main leads of the series.
Yoo Yeon Seok is Baek Sa Eon, the youngest presidential spokesperson in South Korea. In the series, he came from a family of politicians. Chae Soo Bin is Hong Hee Joo, the wife of Baek Sa Eon in the K-drama. She is the second daughter of the top news company. She is suffering from mutism due to an incident when she was a child. She is currently working as a sign language interpreter.
Director Park Sang Woo (The Forbidden Marriage) and writer Kim Ji Woon (Hyde, Jekyll, Me) are the brains behind the K-drama.
The K-drama airs on MBC and it is also available worldwide through the streaming platform Netflix.
