The best romcom drama of the year

Okay so i have watched all 3 epidode of it. And its one of the best 2024 kdrama I've seen. The whole cast is amazing. Everyone’s acting is top notch. I am a person who gets easily bored when watching dramas. But this one is really so damn good. It keeps you on hook. Both the actor JUNG HAEIN AND JUNG SOMIN ARE REALLY GREAT ACTORS. Their acting doesnt look like acting it feels tooooooo real to be acting. The 1st episode was both chaotic and comforting. Bae seok ryu and choi seung hyo really fights alot this was so funny to watch. Bae seok ryu coming from US. and their first meeting everything was perfect. It wasnt cliché it was realistic i like that. Then when bae seok ryu mother got to know that seok ryu has resigned and break off the engagement with her fiancée (the reason tell in ep2) it was chaotic at first because her mother started to hit(not hard ofc) bit poor seunghyo got hit instead. That was funny as hell and in ep 2 it was both emotional and comforting. I literally cried with bae seok ryu and her mother. I understand both of them. They both are right on their places. I like the fact that no matter how much both bae seok ryu and choi seunghyo likes to call each other enemies but whenever one of them is in problem they would leave everything just to help each other. In ep 3 okay this was whole damn emotional ride for me i cried laugh and again cried. It was tooo overwhelming for me it took me time come out of my mind. Because of this episode The line that would describe them is *no matter how much we fight at the end of the day when she/he is in problem ill be the first to be there* they literally goes like this. They themselves don't that but they are each others comfort zone. They feel at home when they are with each other and thats exactly this ep was. . I dont wanna give spoilers ?❤️? everyone plesse give this drama lot of love and please watch if you haven't watched it. You all are really missing out alottttttt so go on and watch it and give review HEREEEE

Thoughts up until ep 9

Current thoughts by ep 10:
The male lead is super whiney most of the time he is on screen with the female lead, seems to me like he was signed onto the project for his emotional acting saying every scene hes in is emontional as hell.
The female lead is either doing a great job playing something who hasnt fully coped with situation or just isnt great at doing emotional scenes. Ive felt in the past two episodes her acting has not matched the story of whats happening to her but again it could be that shes playing the role of someone whos lost and depressed super duper well.
The reporter and paramedic I find a lot more interesting
Idk if you are suppose to hate the ex, but after watching this ep I would argue he hasnt really done anything wrong
The parents hating the cooking thing I still dont understand, im assuming its got something to do with the dad
For most kdramas there is usually one major trope that drives the story, and the one for this was faked out with the stating that one of them cheated but in reality its something else that is introduced halfway thru. I dont have a problem with this but it makes hard to hate/dislike the ex, saying it seemed like he did everything well in regards to the issue.

The only thing I hate: waiting a week for the next 2 ep

Nothing to say, this drama so far is just refreshing and has the potential to be drama of the year or even more.

I just want to point out one thing: for all the people annoyed and bored by the scene where the mother is beating and being upset over the FL quitting the job and her engagement, I think you should know the basic info and cultural beliefs of a country before speaking.
This kinda of behaviour may seem odd and overreacting to your prospective but I think 99% of people saying it are not Korean. For sure that can be a little exaggerated (ps: it’s a drama, it’s supposed to not be bland) but that is how it works in Korea, you need to find a good paying job and a good partner to marry then you’re settle for life.
The other mother’s reaction says it all, parents raise you up since you were born so they expect to see their child to have a good and healthy life as an adult.

It’s not the first and it will not be the last drama that portrays Korean parents and their cultural beliefs like that so before blasting on the drama and who wrote the script like this, try to understand other culture’s differences.

PAINT BY NUMBERS

Massive K-Drama Fan... South Koreans are Masters at the craft of compelling stories. Superb acting and off the charts OSTs. So, it pains me to offer some critical analysis of "Love next door". So far the only thing this show is doing well is the wonderful last 5 minutes of the first 2 episodes. The female lead is over-acting to the point of being grating. The male lead comes across as someone who wishes he were somewhere else. The Mothers of each are uninteresting cliches... the writer and director have sacrificed spontaneous acting for hard and fast "Yang style" aggressive females...a trend that is becoming boring. Don't get me started on the cliche characterizations of the Father... and the Male leads "Office" friends make we want to slap them for the over acting Simp portrayals. The only compelling couple is the Reporter and the EMS girlfriend of the female lead. This production is just high gloss "Paint by Numbers" and I blame the director and possibly the writer. It all seems staged and un-organic...
The Producer...director and writer have chosen to overdose on discord & antagonisms creating,,, harmonic dissonance like a song or a symphony with too many notes and to many sharps and flats... I am reminded of my niece who believed one could make a better chocolate chip cookie by doubling the number of chocolate chips and adding an extra cup of sugar.

WHAT A LOVELY STORY!

Long time I have been waiting for this drama because I miss Jung Hae In in romantic vibes and here it is! I’m not so into Jung So Min but in this drama she succeed to make me fall for her instead of Jung Hae In. Their chemistry was superb and awsome!
Who dare to comment that they are no chemistry? Their friendship really touched my heart. I also wish I had a bestfriend/childhood friend like them!
All actors are good. From ML, FL, second ML second FL, all the parents, all are awesome. Thank you to the director for choosing the right actor.
So if you looking for a good romantic drama, you can watch this. I hope to see Jung Hae In more in romantic drama. Thank you for bring him back in love vibes. Enjoy watching!

Slow burners, and friendship lovers, this will definitely appeal to you!

I've watched all 3 episodes and all I have to say is that the show has been amazing so far. The show highlights friendship immensely and has undertones of romance within the ML and FL's actions! I love friendship in K-dramas, especially the "childhood friends" trope when done right. This show captures the trope beautifully, displaying it's highs and lows naturally. Not to mention, it is very refreshing to experience the pacing of the show. As a slow burner, I love the pacing of the show, as it allows me to adjust to the characters first, as well as that it's healthy and the show isn't overwhelming you with a majority of topics right off the bat. The show moves at a pace that is very comfortable, and easy-going. I also have to say that this show is quite realistic and aligns with the struggles that most face today, ranging from undecided dreams to stagnant positions in life. Overall, it is fresh and truly a spectacular show from what I've watched so far. I can't wait for the next upcoming episodes!

Its hard to watch because its too real.

I really appreciate this drama as an overachiever who experienced a burnt-out and suddenly filed a resignation letter the next day. This drama is so deep where in its hard to watch because its almost identical, I even had the same occupation as the female lead. Of course the money & benefits where there but when you suddenly face something beyond your weight it takes a toll at you and bury you with its weight.

So for all of those peeps who experience the same thing seek help and learn some hobbies, enjoy and appreciate life for we will all rise again.

But honestly the coincidence is just, too uncanny lmao.

Heartwarming Story

Only two episodes barely aired in the US, and I am already in love with the stories and the actors. There always gonna be an unsatisfied audience no matter how much work the talent and the crew invested to make the show possible. The last show I work for was the Last of Us, and even when the show got a lot of nominations and awards, we always got a lot of unsatisfied people. The way I'm looking at this show is as a brilliant heartwarming piece of art. It tackles on some social issues and family dynamics. One of those issues is portrayed through a short scene where an elder is carrying material to sell as recycle. Without making it a long scene, the writer and director were able to convey the problem we are facing as society globally when it comes to poverty, lack of opportunities for elders, and how societies tend to neglect those who aged. Jung Hae In & Jung So Min are just fantastic together! their chemistry is undeniable, and they are both such great actors. I am looking forward to the resolution of their love story.
