Very solid drama
A very solid drama. I liked the way it kept the mistery going for quite some time and only revealed the truth in the end. The tension was handled appropriately, I liked the way they introduced the old boyfriend back into her life, the resolution was not too quick when you consider the fact that after all, they had only so many episodes to work with, and there needed to be enough time to also build up FL's relationship with ML, plus the other stories. If there was something I wished to seem ore of, it would have been more of the city. Anyway, the story was very much character driven, so it was kind of expected that the focus would be on that.

A sex-oriented show that is deep yet light at the same time
The BL element brought me to this show and it was fun. I can always see the difference when it comes to adult series that were produced by Asians compared to the films from the West. As an Asian myself, I am connected with how they tackled stereotypes and the firm grasp of the traditional values of the majority, especially the old ones. Which, the drama presented it by having the featured family members have their own stories that rotate about love and desires.I have been a big fan of Kai Ko since his debut movie role in ‘You Are the Apple of My Eye’ and he hasn’t lost his charm. His still courageous to take roles that allowed him to be fully naked in front of the camera. The friends-with-benefits turned lovers couple are just okay. Storywise, I’ve seen a lot of similar flow and plot of story from this couple. I was not entertained or felt excited when they began dating for real. I am also disappointed that they easily skipped the trauma of the youngest daughter who at a young age discovered that his father is an animal who left her in the car just to eat girls in a hostess club. I also hated her mother for lying and defending his lewd husband.
JC Lin once again slays! He fit his role in this show and I love that I get to see another cool story of a homosexual character. The BL couple was the ‘icing on the cake’ in this drama. It was unexpectedly cute and entertaining. The ending of their love story was pleasing. I love the fact that the gangster boss decided to surrender himself and improve to be a better version of himself the moment that he met the one. Their romance may be short but it was the most memorable one among the multiple couples in the story.
Jumping to the oldest sibling who emphasizes the importance of communication in a relationship. First, I applaud them for clearly and loudly speaking that it is okay not to bear a child of their own. The pressure of the parents is so real for most Asians and I liked that several individuals right now from different age gaps are taking this topic seriously. In the modern world, raising a child is so hard that varieties of traumas and difficulties await them. Each of us has our reasons and decisions about whether to have a child or not, and no one has the right to put us in the spotlight of self-doubt and tension. Another thing that I find cool about this couple is how they also discuss the significance of attending sessions for married couples.
This is a good show for a light yet educational rom-com in this modern period. The only thing I felt lacking was the absence of prolonging the specific topic and resolving it first before jumping to the next plot to be discussed. Nevertheless, the production was good enough to deliver a family story that is very open and transparent about what matters in a healthy relationship.

Amor vs Sexo

Not much experience in Taiwanese dramas, but this was good
I must admit that I have very limited experience with Taiwanese dramas, this being only the fourth I saw after The Wonder Woman, The Victim's Game and A Moment's notice.I have to say that over the years I have noticed a definite improvement toward more "serious" plots, with less "makjang" elements, to borrow a korean term. Not sure if this is an actual trend or just the fact that I saw some different kinds of drama with a small sample size. In any case, the experience certainly let me want to look for more (and I believe The Victim's Game will get a second season soon, so I am looking forward to that... not that it's in the same genre of this drama ;)).

Educational, Sentimental, Intriguing
This show shows you the perspective of different kinds of relationships varying in ages and sexualities. Showing the ups and downs of each relationship and how they solve them throughout the series. It educates people on different topics such as sex, family, relationships, marriage and more. I really enjoyed this series because it kept me entertained but also seemed educational in different aspects. It gave you the perspective of all the characters and how some things can be misunderstandings and could be minor issues that with miscommunication it becomes a bigger problem but with time, patience, cooperation, communication and involvement it could be fixed. It showed the struggles of what a married couple could experience at a specific moment in their marriage and how it affects them overall, this show does an amazing job at showing how sexual attraction can be affected once you’ve been with someone for a long time and how issues with sexual intercourse could arise due to lack of time, lack of interest, and just not enough communication and also making plans to switch things up here and there. It showed conflict, sentimental, happy and confusing moments and more with family and how it all evolved through the series. The tension, connection, and intimate moments shared in this series speak for themselves, while some sex scenes scream out love and affection others scream out as a cry for help in the relationship because the bond is just not there during it causing conflict and confusion in the relationships. This show does a great job as being realistic on multiple subjects and how it affects multiple people in either a positive or negative way. While this show is mainly targeted as a sex show, focusing on only sex is not the main plot, there’s more to it and it takes you for a ride so expect yourself to cry, laugh, and have your heart pounding throughout the spicy scenes and passionate kisses. Overall a beautiful show with realistic scenes and many characters stories being shown to keep you extra entertained. Really recommend this show!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Engaging, funny, informative. A must watch!
This is such an engaging drama with very true to life characters. It is poignant & funny and unpredictable. The plot also includes excellent sxl health advice for people of all ages and at the same time digs deep into emotional wellbeing. The characters all go on individually interesting journeys which carry us along with them.
A great cast delivers each character in an authentic way - and some like the super talented JC Lin, with added benefits
???
Here's hoping for Series 2 ??

Sex Education in Taiwan with more drama
I really enjoyed watching Let's Talk About Chu. It brings high quality in every aspect as Taiwanese movies and shows usually do nowadays, with showing strong positive and negative emotions as well, funny and (sometimes dark) jokes, great actors, good music, great and serious topics as well in an easy and consumable way.On the negative side: The show operates with lots of storylines, subplots. While each of them is good, you might find yourself get bored with or not paying attention to the one that is your least favorite.
hm I never felt like dropping this show or even skipping some subplots, I really wanted to know where the lines lead and how they affect each other.
I would recommend it to anyone with some mature mind. I watched it on Netflix.

Can you separate sex and love?
For this generation, it could be a simple or complicated question. It's a question that requires a yes or no answer and yet, there would be a lot of people stumbling over themselves to answer it or find the answers to it, just like Chu Ai.I have no experience in the sex department but I like how open this drama carries the topic especially when it's treated "lightly" online and a taboo offline, in this year of our Lord, 2024.
The way they portrayed hook-up culture, the friends-with-benefits trope and intimacy in monogamous marriages is eye-opening and entertaining. I wish they could have spent more time on the monogamous marriage story especially on Chu Wei and her husband's story. Married couples who don't want children are not often portrayed in media (or maybe I haven't seen enough of them.)
Pay attention to all characters and their stories and maybe you will realize that the answer to that question is not so complicated after all when you're in love or love someone.

I didn't like the topic and the script of this drama.
Let's Talk About Chu is about a dysfunctional family where love and encouragement never speak or show, which leads Chu Ai into meaningless hookups with guys without love. I didn't like the script, and the acting was mediocre. My Reviews:
1. The acting was mediocre from the FL.
2. I don't like the script and the negative relationships it portrays among the siblings and their partners.
I give it a 5.5 rating. I also fell asleep watching it because it was a slow burn, and I FFed and skipped some scenes that were not interesting to me.
