It was such a cute show.
It was exactly what you expect in a Japanese bl. It was so cute!!!! I loved it!! It had it's up's and down's but defiantly worth watching. The way that they involve all the different characters in a way that you wouldn't expect. Or the problems that the individuals face. It had a good story line and overall a great and enjoyable show! I loved it. Defiantly watch. Amazing. Super. The best. Just to cute to handle. Ok now i need 500 charecters and have no idea what else to say without spoilers? So i'll just repeat watch it until i reach the right amount of words! Watch it! Watch it! Watch it!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Watch this when you need to be healed.
Just a perfect drama. Watching this feels like a warm hug at the end of a long day. While so many BLs have toxic characters, miscommunication built in as a plot point, and tropes stuffed in to the gills, Our Dining Table comes in quietly and softly. The characters are so realistic without being awkward or forced. The dialogue and interactions are never overly dramatic for the sake of it. This is as much a love story as it is a story about friendship and family, and finding "your place" in the world.
I could pull this apart with all of the things that make it so good, but it needs to be experienced!
I think everyone should watch this drama at least once, it is setting a new standard of the shorter episode BLs for me and will absolutely be rewatched as a comfort show. This was a healing experience!

I kinda shock when this series came out. I just finished the manga night before, then suddenly the live action out already. Like im not even complaining because inukai in here. He was everywhere in jbl that year. At first im not sure how this serie turns out, because of tane is really the cutest character alive, but the child actor really did the best apart for through the series, and im glad they dont change most of the actual plot of manga. Except when hteir first kiss, it actually happen on the lips but it more refreshing and make sense when minoru did it on the cheek. Like they barely even make skinship, so that must be weird when you doing at the lips. As for tane i hope you doing gret boy, because your yukata is actually minoru's. hahahaha... "Loving someone means accepting the pain of losing them too"
I watched this BL with the idea that it might only revolve around food. Oh my god, I never thought that I would literally cry in episode 10. I was literally bawling my eyes out lol. This is so wholesome and nice in many aspects. Tane plays a huge role in their relationship and I thank him for his existence fr. This feels like a warm hug on a cold evening. I feel like it would be better to watch this on Christmas or Winter break since it has that warm tone that would make you cry under thick covers. I just hope that they would be happy forever in each others' lives. I remembered adding this series to one of our school projects since it moved me so much! There are really a lot of good JBLs. Keep it up!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Love so warm(≧▽≦)
After 7 episodes came out, i started reading reviews about this show. And it was not good. Most of the people said that it's kind of boring and slow. And that their chemistry wasn't much to talk about. The only promising thing the show provided was the little cute angel kid. I thought it is going to be a pass for me.However after the 8th episode came out I binge watched it and god I loved it soooo much. Yes, some may feel that the story is slow or the chemistry is not overflowing but believe me it's nothing like that. And because it's not like that, it is perfect. It's not that simple to fall in love and just straight up confess, it takes a lot of time. I loved that the pacing was slow but natural and boring to say the least. And when i tell you that the chemistry is so warm, it's true. The way they look at each other and smile when the other is not looking is so ugggggggghhhhh, damn it's too cute. And our little onigiri baby is too cute and adorable actor.
Anyone thinking to pass this show. WATCH IT. IT'S ABSOLUTELY LOVELY AND FRESH.
YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT♡♡

The romance wasn't forcing itself; it just happened naturally.
No episodes starting from first episode did it make me bored af. Japanese BLs are really good in making this type of romance.Yutaka and Minoru, the main characters of this series, are both self-conscious and too shy to express their inner feelings. These makes the whole story interesting and keeps me wondering how their romance will start to unfold. Flavored with Minoru's supporting brother Tane and father Koji, the series that seems pale for non-watchers turns it bright and colorful. The progress of the story is so consistently good. With Yutaka's past family-related trauma, the series brought a variety of emotions.
The romance in this series isn't grand and fairytale-like. It is very realistic, warm and blooming. It doesn't need bed scenes to say their relationship is intimate. Every little thing they do is extraordinary in my eyes.
Our Dining Table is one of the best recommendations for binge-watchers. I can guarantee it.
Edit: Every line they said in Final Episode was everything to me. This is a MUST-WATCH series.

So warm and fuzzy, I died!
It's actually quite slow paced for my liking but surprisingly keeping me entertained with its hearwarming story. It's tone is mainly warm and fuzzy, with some comedy and touching moment.
It's pretty realistic and not the over-the-top kind of drama.
My only wish is more romance scene between them, although I kinda know this isn't what the show is about (I mean, look at the poster lol)
And, the little boy is a gem, he definitely brightens up the show and is a crucial part of the show. He honestly steals the show in many moments. In fact, there is one scene that really just melts my heart because I am touched by his purity, innocence and sweetness. Sometimes, watching a child makes us remember the simple things in life, like what truly matters is having fun, playing with your family and really just love trumps everything.
It also really teaches us the how COMMUNICATION literally is the key to relationship!
Also, don't get me started at how cute Inukai Atsuhiro is. He looks so different here than in his other show I've watched but cute either way!
It's a simple yet meaningful show about family, romance, and just about LOVE and LIFE!

Most wholesome bl I've ever seen!!!
Everything in it was really cute and so wholesome that it melts my heart to this day. The drama is really light and the plot is so easy to follow through. Really love this short ass drama. Indeed a slow placed drama that gently takes and tells the viewer where the story flows.Plot: I can safely say, this was easy to understand not complicated and pretty unique. The sense of belongingness that Yutaka craves was found at this small family of Minoru. It didn't felt so stretched. I was satisfied how neatly written and laid out the plot was. It didn't make me think, they could have just jammed it all in in just few episodes. I know there's not much anything going on the two leads for the most eps til we reach eps 8-10.5 but that didn't felt dragged in a sense that I expect them to fall in love in the first few eps. I didn't think that's something I should expect. I just immersed myself to the cuteness and gentleness of this series. It's basically just that moment where Yutaka shared his food with the kid then got invited by Minoru in their house. I get the feeling of loneliness of Yutaka longing to be belonged and that just stroke a chord with me. That gap really felt real to me. One might say this is their comfort series and I won't really blame them.
Cast & Acting: The cast was also something I should praise them. Although it's not a groundbreaking cast or impactful acting performance but they really did well setting the tone of the series. Not too much dramatized scenes. The acting felt casual or natural. The kid really sold me. He's so cute and adorable and really acted naturally. He's one that made the series cute. The two leads have chemistry with each other and how they interact with each other felt clean. There's no disconnection I felt as a viewer toward their chemistry. Inukai (Yutaka) really showed his emotion (that scene where he was teary-eyed talking to Minoru's father) when needed. Sometimes I felt portrayal of Minoru is giving Sarawat vibes. How stoic he was every EP but not necessarily a problem for me to pinpoint. The kiss ain't really felt awkward either. The dad of Minoru and the kid is just light-hearted and we love it! The exchange in dialogues not felt off. The brother of Yutaka's foster family is bland and more stoic than Minoru. He's the only the least liked character of mine. Just hating on Yutaka but I just love that in the end he really meant well and took care of Yutaka when he was sick. The other cast are fine. Not much problem here. All did well I guess.
OST: Good not much to say.
Overall opinion:
This was really good especially if u want something easy to follow plot, good cast and not complicated in any aspect of bl. I didn't see much cliche here or BL trope we used to encounter in BLs out there. Overall this was a wholesome watch and who knows I might watch it again whenever I miss it. Definitely a great series to pass the time and probably the best Japan BL I've seen in years!!

FOOD AND COMPANY
everyone needs someone they can have a comforting lunch with, but when your whole life you have the degradation about your eating habits you just drift yourself away from society no one sees u eat.that's what happen when yutaka was eating his lunch quietly on the bench when tane approached him and shared the rice ball with each other... monoru(tane elder brother) who had been quiet and siffering after his mom's death, lit up with yutaka in his life too.
they established a comandarineship, eating together, creating memories and laughter together.
It is lighthearted at best and can be a mood lifter on hard days...

Noone deserves to be lonely, we are all worthy of love
I think this show may have been written specifically for me.A quiet, tender tale of finding human connection after an extended period of loneliness and learning to find joy in little things each and every day? Yeah, I fell absolutely head over heels in love with this story. The fact that it was also heavily themed around food was just the cherry on top of the absolutely glorious sundae.
The cast were all truly pitch-perfect in bringing this sweet little slice-of-life drama to life and displayed an unbelievable chemistry with each other that made the bonds between all the characters feel breathtakingly loving and achingly real.
If you want a show that teaches you about finding connection, leaving behind loneliness, coming out of your shell, and learning to fall in love with the world and the people in it again and again and again, then Bokura no Shokutaku is most definitely what you're looking for.
Even if you're just after a warm comfort-watch to pass some cozy evenings, this show is for you as well.

Feeds the heart....literally!
When I first heard that this was going to be adapted, I was soo impatient and ready for it. After the wait, it's finally here! I absolutely loved the manga and I was sad because it's a short stand alone one volume story and I wanted to stay with the characters longer. I get the chance to do that with this live action! So far with 3 episodes out, it appears that Yutaka's backstory is a bit different from the manga based on the flashback scenes we saw. It seems like with the drama they are going to flesh out the backstory way more, which makes sense because of how short the manga was. Im curious to see how it all turns out. The drama gives you warmth with a lot of love and happiness and that feeling is just how I felt when I read it (definitely need to reread at some point). To me, that's all that matters is that feeling and it's faithful in that way. You'll find yourself smiling and clutching your heart while watching this!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
