Mr Bad is not bad, it’s EXCEPTIONAL!

My first time writing a review because Mr Bad is sooo good! I watch it to support Shen Yue without any expectations and the drama totally overdelivered! I didn’t expect it to be so funny and heart-warming. What I like most about it is the acting and chemistry between Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan. It’s my first drama with Chen and I really like his comedic acts! Yue’s acting is ace and honestly, Nan Xing is my favourite character done by Yue. Even though the story might be simple and not that original, however the acting and production made it happened. The punchlines were well-delivered and the pacing is good. No characters are really bad here. For a romcom, Mr Bad hit my red button in every right way!

There are also no cliche stuff Eg accidental kiss, unnecessary last minute sub-plot or arc, love triangle, Fl falling into ML arms and fall in love ASAP (this one is the other way round! FL had to carry ML, hahaha!) I appreciate the progression of their love. I think it’s very natural and YY and CZY did really well in their roles. Their visuals are crazy- both are gorgeous.

The romantic and emotional scenes were well done! Especially the wedding! It was beautiful, feels like it’s almost real and the best part is Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan had to write their own vows for their characters! Nobody in the audience knew what they were reading. The outcome was unbelievable.

This drama may be lack in budget. But it’s abundant in love, warmth, laughter, dreams and happiness. The supporting cast was good. Even Nan Xing’s quirky boss who was quite boring in the beginning began to grow on me. I love NX’s mom. And Ye Qing. I love Nan Xing for never giving up on her dream to write and I love Xiao WuDi for his unconditional love and support.

I have never giggled or laughed out loud in almost every episode. Or having my heart flutter so many times when they kiss or during the emotional scenes. Or smiling like an idiot watching the main leads bickering and the funny monologues. Some comical parts remind me of old HK movies with Stephen Chow. Especially when Xiao Wu Di was being dramatic ?

This drama outperformed all my expectations and thus, I am giving it full points. Thank you Director Li Qing Rong for giving us full portion of everything in Mr Bad! There were so many cute, cuddly, bickering, loving moments that are memorable. Thank you Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan for bringing me so much joy through Nan Xing and Xiao WuDi.

Unexpected fave cdrama so far.

I just saw this trailer in iqiyi ads last weekend and tried to download the app. This drama is no. 1 in popular category so I give it a try.

Tried to watch episode 1 of this drama and damn. Iforced myself to register the VIP membership to get more episode. I got hooked lmaooo. Nan Xing is so kawaii and she looks like japanese not chinese. Her chemistry with wudi is so romantic and cute at the same time. I google these two main leads and both of them are baby face. Should I call them baby face couple? Well hats off to this drama and thanks to iqiyi ads and I have comfort drama for now lol. I really hope this drama will make an enter to netflix tho for me to replay this drama if my VIP in iqiyi will expire ?

The chemistry between shenyue and chen zheyuan are superB

This drama is so good, i didn't expect this drama would be so good especially the wedding scene omg it's looks like a real wedding!! not a single episode make me bored, actually 24 episodes are too short i want more, czy and shenyue i hope you get another project together their chemistry on and offcam is so adorable!!
The story of this drama is very light, I like it because there is no antagonist character or a third person in this drama, this drama is strange, funny, touching at the same time. I think this is the best modern chinese drama in 2022, you will regret it if you don't watch it!

The Best

I hope the director can reunite Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan for Ancient Era drama.. and make it 70 episode?.. I really like shen yue wearing red dress ancient era.. please.. Next drama in historical for Shen Yue? with Chen Zhe Yuan or Miles Wei..pleasee.. Their chemistry in the drama is beyond words. I love watching Kdramas, but Shen yue is my favorite after watching a love is so beautiful. Because of Mr. Bad I’m starting to watch Cdrama. I can feel that this show is going to be hit internationally. This drama is already the most anticipated drama of this year. I feel it. I don't really watch Cdramas, But I looked forward to this one. And MR. BAD did not disappoint. Imagine this already crossed 2 million reservations on IQIYI overseas. JUST WOW! 1.1 million view in Iqiyi Youtube.❤❤❤❤❤

The drama is light and fun, and it brings warm and comfort to the audience. Shen Yue's acting on this series really improved a lot most specially on crying/emotional scenes. She properly delivered the emotions she wants to portray as Nan Xing. Chen Zhe Yuan on the other hand did a good job. His comedic timings, nuances and facial expressions are top notch.

Almost all episodes are so hilarious and natural. The ending is so raw and authentic that you would think that the scene is real since it's really convincing. Both of the actors did a great job on their respective roles even though the series wasn't promoted well.

Moreover, I highly recommend this drama to all of you. It is a must watch. Hopefully, both actors will collaborate for another drama, this time they deserve a high budgeted production and hype promotions.

Love..love..love!!

This has to be one of my favourite light cdrama romcoms. Loved everything about it. The story, cast, music was all spot on. It had my attention from the first episode & held it till the end. Which surprised me because I usually have to fast forward some sections on most dramas. The chemistry between the leads was so natural & I love all the interactions with other cast members. Also loved seeing all the bts tidbits which showed that the cast had fun making it. It’ll be a definite go to drama for me . One that’s easy to watch & put me in a good mood. This was definitely an unexpected surprise package. Well done to everyone involved?????????????

Must watch!

I really enjoyed watching this rom com drama .. i really dont get other people hating on this ... there are some parts that i had to rewind coz i find it so funny .. i admit i am a huge fan on shen yue so i was really looking forward to her new work and she did not disappoint! The main lead , CZY, is perfect for the role! Ive never seen any of his drama but he did his part for this drama perfectly! The sound track is awesome too! The fact that this two very talented artists sang the OST and really did well doing it is just another proof of their real talent . Must watch!!

Just got curious because of douban rating and its good tho

When I saw the 7.2 Douban rating of this drama I just curious since most of the Chinese rater of this site is very critical especially if the show is romcom. And 7.2 is quiet high for a romcom drama!!!!!

Shen Yue is a surprise and her acting is really improve unlike to her previous role. Hopefully she will get more mature role since of her role are cute and well we cannot resist her baby face. Wearing a costume in episode 1 really suits her tho. Hope she can make xianxia drama in the future.

Chen Zhe Yuan is soooo funny ? i really thought his role is literally villain but not which is for me it will add the excitement of this drama.

Highly recommended who wants very light and less stress drama. The chemistry of main leads is awesome. Tho I am not a fan of loveteam who will ship the main leads but these 2 can't resist. The wedding looks real especially when they cried in their vows. This is my first time to watch this kind of wedding scene for an asian drama. Hats to Shen and Chen for this effort.

should not have trusted the high reviews

Having just finished watching Hidden Love I wanted to watch another drama with the same male lead. I made a big mistake in trusting the reviews and spending so much time on this drama. There was nothing that could salvage this one. And I tried. Many times.

I love cheesy romance series but this just wasn't enjoyable. There are so many unnecessary scenes and the story line was a hot mess, made no sense and there was no continuity. There was very little effort to make the story truly follow the ML in his adapting to modern society, and just directly skipped to him magically knowing and understanding everything. The dialogue and acting was pretty subpar and the music as well. I wish I could say good things about this show but I have to be brutally honest, I just can't say it's any good....like its name states...it's pretty Bad.

If you want to watch an AMAZING and UNBELIEVABLY GOOD drama I recommend you watch Hidden Love. Everything you need in one place with amazing acting, story, music, and happy/sad tears. All 24 episodes are worth your time. You'll be begging for more...or rewatching it a bunch like I did!

I love it!

Hey I really loved it! So far this is the most fascinating modern semi historical I watched recently. I really love their chemistry. It seems the leads like each other in real life. Lol. Im excited for the ff episodes. I really like shen yue, i watched all of her series. This is the first time i watched the ml and he is really attractive, now i understand why our secrets has a high rating. Maybe, i will watch it some other time. Theres a lot of heart fluttering moments. Ive been watching a lot of historical dramas and I just watched this now. It gives me comfort of heavy drama watching historical. I love this drama, even i dont know the ending yet i will not change my rating.
