Good Series
Excellent story excellent acting! My only complaint would be is that it is just way to short. Korean BL dramas are mostly all too short the story line is good, but always seem too rushed and therefore a lot of important parts of a story are left out. Once again the actors are excellent the storyline is excellent they just should’ve spent more time elaborating the story and the actors relationship. Even the part where the owner came in that part of the story didn’t really make any sense because there was no background to explain that whole situation. All in all very enjoyable just needs more time to get the complete story across!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Want to Rage Cry for All the Wrong Reasons?
I came to MDL to see the face of my forever enemy, the writer of this story.Happy endings in love stories are my jam, but the resolution in this story can kick rocks. Yes, its cozy, cutesy with drool worthy eye candy. However, there is no great character development nor the time to explore. There is however, have an S-class villain who got to have her cake and eat it too.
The story is satisfying if you like unicorns and cotton candy, but if you like good meat in your story then find another show to watch. Pass go, do not collect $200.
For a momemt, I thought to give the writer a break. Maybe they weren't given enough screen time to work with so it ended as it did. But really, it could have resolved less happily for some of the characters and winningly for others. With more time, and a different writer, this story had the potential to be great.
Not a horrible watch and you'll blow through it within a few blinks of the eye. BUT... if you dont want to throw your phone across the room and watch it smash to a million pieces around episode 7, then find literally anything else to consume but this mediocre HEA.

A Cute and Simple BL
A fitting contribution to the korean BL scene. It was short, sweet, and simple. And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need. It was an easy watch with several memorable scenes and intriguing characters. I loved how much character development our main character got in such a short period of time, while still feeling natural and organic. And the maturity that was shown throughout was much appreciated and welcome.I can’t help but wonder, however, what it would be like flushed out into a longer series or with a sequel. Either way, definitely recommended.

workplace romance, sunshine/tsundere, rivals to lovers
Fantastic chef, but a bit of a stick in the mud, is challenged when the owner of his restaurant brings in a new hot shot chef into his kitchen. She pits the two against each other (even though she’s already decided the original chef is out). The new bad boy is pretty darn flirty. There is an impressive courtship, but the characters are a little underdeveloped. The tsundere softening journey is well done, and the tension given but the foundational rivals crisis (one having to lie to the other) is a good simple plot arc for a K-BL, but ultimately this show was still a little thin and some of the scenes seemed out of order. Still I enjoyed it and I look forward to the movie rewatch.RECOMMENDED

my fault for expecting something, i guess
i knew from the very first minute of the show that this was little more than an excuse to film two hot guys attempt at acting attracted to each other.it's perfect, it's pretty, the guys are hot. it doesn't matter that it's perfect to the point of unauthenticity, or that it's pretty but is as shallow as the pools of water those shells the main characters collected at some point live in. the guys are hot, so why does it matter that there is so little chemistry between them, that when i watch the show all i see are not the star chefs choi jungwoo and yoon dogun competing for laura dining and falling for each other, but the actors jang euisoo and lee chanhyung reading their lines?
honestly, they were so detached from their characters that i felt uncomfortable watching them "flirt". their unnatural closeness was weird. don't look far and take the very first interaction they have, of jungwoo turning dogun around and tying his apron. all i could think about was how wildly uncomfortable it would be, to have a complete and total stranger do this to me. you'd think dogun would get defensive, push him away, call him crazy. somehow, it seemed like he was completely okay with it happening. because, well, it's a korean bl drama, and characters in korean bl dramas aren't real humans, and they don't try hard to convince you they are.
it's not completely hopeless, and i wouldn't say either of them are horrible actors. choi jungwoo has acting experience and you can tell he puts it to practice; i feel like he genuinely tried to make something out of nothing here, when he wasn't told to stand in front of the camera and look perfect and sexy and hot. i'm sure that under a good director he could pull a praise worthy performance. lee chanhyung is rather unremarkable.
i'm not even going to talk about the plot, because it truly doesn't make a difference. it's a setting, it's a background image to put the actors against, it's a setup for the enemies to lovers dynamic.
what i can't fault the show for is its low budget and how rushed it is, or for when lee chanhyung spilled broth on the table trying to feed jang euisoo's character and they didn't reshoot it. there is no excuse for bad writing, though.
tl;dr: i mean, the show is only 8 episodes long, and i could only stomach 6 of them, skipping five seconds forward more and more often until i gave up.
skip this one if you're looking for entertainment with any substance to it or a compelling relationship. watch if you're a girl that wants to see hot korean guys pretend to be gay men that are into each other, which is the target demographic of this anyway. but, hey, bet those screenshots came out pretty.

This Series is a Example of Effrontery
This series is very confusing and a bit incomprehensible. Frankly that is due to the awful behaviors of all three of the main characters. No one acts with any kind of honestly or reality. How can you possibly fall in love with an individual who just stole your job knowingly? Everyone is plotting and scheming behind everyone else's back and how does this make for solid relationships? I did like how the title comes into play which you find out at the very end. Wish that the rest of the series was as relatable as that. Kind of a disappointment for me.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
A time waster!
This drama has nothing going for it apart from the good-looking male lead... The storyline is non-existent... The editing is choppy.. Both the chefs were locked in the cool storage then what happened? The next episode they're doing their own things in the kitchen like nothing had happened. So why include that scene if nothing was going to happen and with no explanation afterwards like how they got out etc. Then when the real chef was betrayed, yeah he got mad for awhile then he just forgive the fake chef after he was booted out of the restaurant that he worked for when it first started?
This drama is an absolute crap...and a time waster. Don't bother watching this.

This might be true
So, I just finished watching the 6th episode. Let me just get straight to the point and not beat around the bush. I feel like Dogun is going to blow up at Jungwoo. I kept myself in Dogun's shoes. I feel like I would give the person a good lecture if s/he took my job, kissed me and didn't even tell me no matter how much I love him/her. I feel like it might be out last meeting. Dogun would feel like me just used him to get the job that was like his child and he took great care of him. I just wish them a good ending. I feel like they might not even start dating and if situations get any worse, they might not be friends either.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Very sweet and clean BL
In the world of BL, you have many options: the young high school love (most Thai BL), the dramatic love (most Philippine BL), and the bromance (most Japanese, Chinese, Korean).I honestly needed a cleans from the Thai and Philippine BL. I’m not a high school student nor I like dramatic and complicated issues. On top of that, I work and have some college projects that I have to finish. With limited time, I needed some short but sweet love.
My Sweet Dear is a very sweet and basically bromance with 1 kiss but very meaningful. There are only 8 short episodes but each one is full of emotion and with a clear message.
If you are like me, looking for a cleans and with limited time to watch other BL’s, then I recommend My Sweet Dear. I truly enjoyed the story and their acting. A very sweet, clean, and fun BL.
Bonappetit!

My Short and Sweet Series
This series is short but it left such an impact on me. It took me a while to write this because I wasn't 100% sure what I thought about it. I should preface this review by saying I am a huge fan of Jang Euisoo so I will watch everything and anything he is in and that is the only reason I started this. However, I was soon sucked in.The relationship is new and fragile, We get to watch it start, face turbulence, and overcome issues. It is a realistic relationship in that it shows everything is not perfect, however due to the length of the series, the feelings can come across as a bit rushed. There's nothing that really identifies the time between major milestones in their relationship so we don't know the pacing but this is easy to put to the back of your mind while watching it.
The restaurant owner is a little bit of a cold soul, seeing her warm up a bit towards the end while she remembers the journey it took to get to where she is. It was nice to see some character development for her. We very rarely see women represented well in shows that fall under the category of BL dramas. While having this woman have a storyline that isn't directly related to her romance with a man, this drama still doesn't pass the Bechdel test. If that's something you care about, now you know the answer.

" chefs in 1 kitchen trying to ... what?
Eyecandis yes, the intro is showing a hot body ... a click bait? As the 2 main character act too straight to be really enemy to lover and the end shows a bromance ... very Konfucian and China market oriented, censored ... Nice to watch, if you love kitchens and cooking and food but that it was. A female owner as the "beast" who throws 2 hetero alpha males into the ring to fight ...Rewatch value ... low.
Acing, so lala, while one af the leads in another BL show was far better
The best in that show in my opinion was the music.
