SOOO GOOD! Watch the uncut version if you can!
The way this freaking drama made me cry over 4 separate times should be illegal. In the beginning it was a little slow and awkward so I didn't think much of it, but I'd seen good reviews for this drama so I kept my faith and guess what? SOOO glad I finished it. Had some good twists and the plot was just heart wrenching towards the end... the things poor Phob had to go through in life just wrecked me and I totally understood where he was coming from. He suffered so much and things were so unfair for him and Pat. Also the acting was so much better than I was expecting. There were times where I was very surprised and pleased by the range of emotion they showed these two go through. The tears, the vulnerability, and the laughter they shared throughout made their chemistry and intimacy as a couple so much more believable. Something I particularly liked was that there was no tsundere "I'm embarrassed so I'm going to stop you and get mad every single time you initiate something" act. Sometimes it's well done but most of the time it gets on my nerves big time because it just looks like they don't actually want to be with their partner, so it was refreshing to see two emotionally open and forward characters make advances on each other without all that silly pretense. There is of course a bittersweet but happy ending. I loved every moment of it, especially the tear-jerking scenes during the "biggest obstacle." That really solidified how I felt about the overall show. Don't want to give anything away but if I, a huge romantic and lover of this couple enjoyed it, you'll definitely like the ending too. All in all it was a great drama and I'm satisfied even though my eyes hurt from the crying. I'd recommend watching the uncut version as it adds the more physical dynamics between them and shows some worthwhile additional fluffy scenes.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Not good for escapism, not good for in-depth exploration of themes, but a rather engaging story
Boy (human, Phat) meets boy (ghost, Phob). They fall in love. I liked this BL series quite a lot, but I won't put it amongst my favorite BLs. I'm not exactly sure why, but here are some possible reasons:1. I appreciate that there is a ghost but there isn't much horror. In fact, there are quite a number of light-hearted and humorous moments. However, it doesn't work that well as a BL series that satisfies my need for escapism because the situations can be rather saddening at the end. It is not really an unhappy ending, but it isn't exactly a series like My Ride, for instance. The ending isn't quite as satisfying as, say, in He's Coming to Me (also a human-ghost love story, and one that's quite underrated).
2. It is a BL series that makes references to BL series and it's quite common for BL series to become self-reflexive nowadays, but I think the references to Lovely Writer are somewhat pointless.
3. It attempts to make a point about (Thai) society's attitude towards gay people, but it is somehow not consistently hard-hitting. It can be rather poignant (as we see in the last episode when a much older Phat says that he has failed to change society. However, the theme lacks development.
4. There are several plot elements that don't make that much sense or are under-utilized. For example, the mystery of what really happened to the father of Dream (Phat's friend) and Luck's supposed encounters with aliens seem a little pointless. Given the way the series ends, a Season 2 is unlikely unless the ending turns out to be a dream or something, so I don't think they are meant to be loose ends that can be used in Season 2. I also find it hard to believe that Phat's landlady, Nuan, is able to do so many things.
Despite the flaws listed, the series is quite enjoyable. The flaws are not really major, but nothing really stands out either. It is a fairly interesting watch, especially in the way Phob slowly finds out about his past. There is enough suspense to keep me watching. However, the series also doesn't quite dare to take things as far as it could have. Possibly very dark characters in the end turn out to be . . . well, not that bad.
If you only want a BL that makes you feel good and happy, I won't recommend this because the ending may not be what you are after. If you want a BL that explores themes in a hard-hitting wat and don't mind an ending that can make you feel unhappy, I would recommend The Miracle of Teddy Bear. If you are open to watching any sort of BL that has an at least okay story, by all means go ahead and watch this.

A beautiful ghost story
Something in My Room is littered with metaphors be it when Nuan says the glass is broken and she'd like to repair the wound or when Phat and Phob realise what is holding Phob back. It speaks of the different kinds of love that exist and how none of them are inherently good or bad. The fact that they make Phat say "humans are scarier than ghosts" in one of the initial episodes and then basically go out to prove it is no coincidence either. Looking at it just from a literary standpoint, SIMR is a wonder whose beauty lies in the things it leaves unsaid; open for interpretation while simultaneously being explicit in its intentions. The story, in a nutshell, is what happens when Phat discovers a ghost, Phob, lurking in the new house he shifted to and decides to help him move on in 49 days. It's an unforgettable journey we make together with them as they navigate the complexities of life, love, humans and ghosts. There is always more than what meets the eye and as the end nears, we realise that no dialogue was offhanded. Furthermore, there are thought provoking remarks about ghosts and aliens, included in a small but meaningful subplot involving them. The care and sincerity that went into presenting the story is visible in every frame of the series.
Bringing the characters alive through their talent are Nut and Plan whose flawless acting makes their every emotion tug at the audience's heartstrings, sometimes in pain, sometimes in longing, sometimes in grief and sometimes in happiness. While the romance is not rushed, it doesn't exactly seem to have been slowly growing in the background. Their chemistry, on the other hand, sizzles with an adequate amount of proper skinship and hot, unreserved, kiss scenes that are simply to die for. Green, Took, Phiao, Faii and Big deliver seamless supporting performances that only add to the beau-no, to the eeriness of the story. The background music is suitably sinister without being spooky and maintains the air of mystery looming over the show.
However, there are a few minuses. Dreamland seems to have been used at convenience- want to communicate? or fuel your paranoia? or write off a scene that doesn't fit into the story? Dream on! Telling Ben and Phob's complicated story through Ben's drama was also a poor choice because it ended up causing unnecessary confusion. Love is used as an element to make, break, heal and cure relationships. It may make one overprotective (Phat's mother) or lie (Ben) or bull-headed or manipulative. Given such a raw portrayal, it makes me question the nature of Phat's life as he recounts it at the fag end. It's obvious where his heart is and who he loves, so what was the reasoning behind a certain choice of his? That love makes one wishful? Phat wouldn't have let go in the first place then. It's a circular loop of doubt. Luck's story remains a mystery but it's unclear if there was no time left to explain it or if they meant to leave it as "some things are inexplicable".
The ending wasn't bad or predictable or unrealistic but it wasn't new either. I kept being reminded of similar endings and hence, it was a bummer. So should you watch it? Yes. Re-watch it? Yes, whenever you want to escape humans because they are scarier than ghosts.

Absolute masterpiece! Heart touching unexpected wholesome series
Honestly, this is such an underrated series. Something in my room is a perfect example of don't judge the book by its cover. I loved how they blended realistic issues with the fantasy and supernatural. Honestly, I had found the trailer boring, and also I am not a big fan of Nut, simply because I didn't like his previous work, Oxygen. I watched this series because it is directed by Tee and behold he produced another masterpiece. He has something which brings out the potential of the actors and thus I trusted him blindly and watched the series. Also, PLEASE WATCH THE UNCUT VERSION because otherwise, you are going to miss a lot of things, and also some parts in the series won't make sense.STORY
The series is plot and character-driven, with romance being secondary. It focuses on Phob's journey to remember his past and regrets in a limited time frame so that he doesn't end up being a vengeful spirit. Along the way, the series has touched on various sensitive themes. Phat and Phat's mother learning to navigate their life without Phat's father. His father had been an integral part of their lives which makes it harder for them to cope with the loss. Then there is this Nuan who is no doubt creepy as hell but seems to have her own reasons. Parenting and loneliness had been highlighted in this series. Ben has done his part in making us realize that pretense and falsehood can only break and hurt people around you.
The theme of selfishness and selflessness can be the different sides of the same coin. Phob's mother always hated Phob for being born thus ruining her dreams, we all thrive for something in our lives, isn't it and what if those things can never be achieved because of someone, aren't we supposed to hate that person? But what if that person is your own blood, your own child. His mother had been living a life full of conflict, as a mother she wants to give her love to him but at the same time, she can't love him because he is the reason she had to give up on something which she loved.
I love how the emphasis has been made on 'there is a right time for everything' which is actually kind of true in the series. Next, the theme is 'belief', a lot of people had actually pointed out that the story of Dream and Luck was pointless. But it wasn't for me, If we believe in something it is bound to become a reality, this was my interpretation of what this couple wanted to show us.
Even though I am not a fan of the bittersweet endings but I found the ending to be perfect. I was afraid that they would have made an ending like He's coming to me but Thank God otherwise it would've spoiled the story.
The series is not at all comedy, rather it is serious with occasional sweet romance.
ACTING
Nut has done an excellent job of portraying Phob. Initially, I had an impression of him being goofy and bright but as he recovers his memory we get to see him as a whole. Phob journey in recovering his memory can be considered as finding one true self. Nut playing an amnesic ghost was something which can be compared to a blank canvas, the more his memory recovers the more the canvas gets filled hence same can go for his portrayal of Phob which he did perfectly.
Plan has done justice to his role of Phat. Out of all actors, his acting had drawn me more to his character. I love how he portrayed his shy, introverted yet decisive character.
I loved the chemistry of both the male lead, Being an unexpected pairing they did a perfect job.
Green although had only 2 episodes for himself had just stolen the spotlight in the series. I immediately felt connected to his character right from the beginning, it was that powerful. His dance on the stage portrayed his anguish and loss of his friend which was so perfectly directed and acted out. His acting had literally given me goosebumps.
OST
I loved the OST and every BGM of this series. The timing of the BGM had made me hold my breath every time it was played.
DIRECTION
It just amazes me to see how much can a person improve himself. Since the beginning I consider Tee to be good now he is just an excellent director, and with each series, he is directing he is just setting his bar high. His way of direction always brings out the story of each character so well that it becomes easier for the audience to connect. I absolutely loved the direction where Ben is giving his stage performance, The narrative was done so well and in a unique way that it gave us a clear picture of the relationship of Phob and Green. Also, I loved when he kept the dream space blank and black because that is exactly what it is. On a psychological level dreams can reflect our own experiences and emotion, hence when they were in the dream their background changes from black to what they want to conceive.
REWATCH VALUE
Honestly, this series is only good for a one-time watch because of its bittersweet ending. But since the acting, directing, and quality of the series is so good that I would rather watch it again.
Overall I give this series a 9.5 because the series had just shown many things about the reality that will make us sit back and reflect upon it.

PREPARE TISSUE TO CRY
Oh my god. I did not expect to cry at this. At first I was being skeptical cause i never know who these actors are but when I watch them, it gets interesting day by day. Okay so lets start with the plot. Very nicely done plot and storyline. It doesn’t feel rush and I feel the director to take their own time to expand the plot. The ending though, I did not expect that to happen. Some of the lakorn that have storyline of ghost x human have that ending where the ghost stays with the human which I found to be non logical but THIS! Phat waits for Phob until the end of his life and when its finally his time to go, Phob is the one who pick him up and brings him to eternity which I found to be so fucking adorable and my heart aches so much! 😭The actors are top notch! I feel like Plan’s acting is good but there’s slight stiffness in it. But still though, for his first main role is absolute amazing. Nut’s acting is of course perfect. I feel like he knows where to draw the line of his alive character and when he is a ghost. Both of their chemistry is beautiful but I feel like there are a room for improvement. Can I just say Nut is so fucking beautiful that it took me a while to comprehend he is Thai. He freaking looks Korean bro.
Anyway, for me I love this series. It doesn’t have cringe plot and cliché plot. The ghosts in the story are nicely done and doesn’t look cheap and i like how they remains the horror plot to be serious instead of comedy. We had enough of comedy horror! Please! And the fact that the house is now abandoned and another ghost lives in the house now are top notch! Perfect ending. LOVE IT. Overall, 9/10! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very Long With Not Much Happening
I really wanted to fast forward through this series... it was Super Slow. I didn't because I like to leave fair reviews.I did not enjoy this series very much. I thought some of it was ridiculous, some of it did not make any sense, some of it was unnecessary, and it felt like another bl that is not a bl.
Most of the characters in this series were not very good actors. The music was pretty unspectacular, and there were lots of long pauses for no real reason.
Cute boys with no real connection to each other, short kisses towards the end, blankets covering them, and we are supposed to use our imagination, I guess. I never felt any emotions while watching these two supposedly fall in love.
And ghosts that look like fake zombies... huh? I was really disappointed in the entire series.. seven is a low rating for me, I seldom go much lower.
No rewatch value for me.

Totally Underrated Supernatural BL
I don’t understand why this has such a low score? It’s a unique plot with good acting and interesting characters. Then again, maybe it’s because of the cut version that is more easily accessible, I watched the uncut version which allowed the narrative to breathe more.I’m a massive “He’s Coming to Me” fan, so ghost BLs aren’t an unusual concept for me. However, this was executed in a very different way (though both involve mystery elements). Something In My Room was able to engage me and get me invested in learning more about the characters.
The acting is pretty good, a couple moments that felt overacted in the crying scenes but some were also very effective. Wept at the ending, so that at least means they brought it there for me (it’s a huge fail if I can’t cry, I literally cry at everything). Chemistry was pretty great, I’d be happy if the leads paired off again.
Side couple didn’t do it for me but I did love Dream (Luck annoyed me and lowkey someone should press charges for the hacking thing?).
There are some plot holes. Some things that never really get properly explained. Like did Phob kill himself? He walked in front of a car and it’s never brought up again? Also the person that hit him literally drove away like nothing happened and y’all don’t wanna know who it was? Wtf lol. That probably the biggest one.
The ending is bittersweet but not devastating. Definitely not the happiest ending, but not the saddest either. I was happy with it in the circumstances.
Overall, it’s a recommend for me! Not sure if I’d ever return to it but maybe.

The last 10 minutes hit me like a ton of bricks
While the “scary”-looking ghosts are kept to a minimum, the series still has so many elements of classic Thai horror. I’m an occasional horror fan, but if you are someone who absolutely cannot deal with horror setups, you might want to give this show a miss. Now, whether to watch the uncut version or not: The shorter versions on YouTube should still give you the details you absolutely need to know, but you may miss out on the background info surrounding the side characters. Personally, I think it’s fine if you just want to watch the cut version, but I couldn’t because I’m just that fomo.
With 70-minute episodes, I expected a well-developed, nuanced story that explored various character arcs. Unfortunately, the narrative surrounding Phob and his family lost steam towards the end. I somewhat appreciated Nuan and Da (Phob’s mother) as complex characters, but found some characters and their motivations to be poorly developed and executed.
Maybe it was a case of trying to do too much and diluting what mattered most.
To me, the real meat of the show was this: What’s going to happen after Phob leaves this world? How can there be a future for both of them?
Unlike He's Coming To Me, which turned out somewhat sappy and light-hearted, SIMR’s final 5 to 10 minutes left me with nothing but sorrow. The lingering dread from living yet not being alive without the person you love. And getting through each day despite it all.
Maybe only in death will there finally be relief. And perhaps that's where the horror truly lies.

AMAZING
DeeHup hasn't let me down yet. I don't even know how I got to know about this BL's existence, but I'm glad I did. I love these stories about romance between ghost and human, so I wanted to see what it was about. This show was proof that you don't need a great budget to make a good one. It's a horror series and the visual effects weren't perfect but they were totally watchable, unlike some shows from GMMTV or other companies with money. I really loved their story and chemistry. The actors were so good and cried majestically. I think almost all of the characters were well written and interesting (I say ALMOST because there was this one character who didn't add anything to the story and was there only to be a jealous noisy boyfriend and it got me mad). The ending was a bit questionable, but I still liked it. There was also this thing that I thought was a bit inconsistent, which is the fact the Phat's mom was barely home (too convenient). But those were things that I could easily ignore so I was able to get into the suspense and enjoy their beautiful romance.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Wonderful, but sad
This show really caught me by surprise. I’d barely seen any mention of it and didn’t hold out much hope for sticking with it, but without realising it really did pull me in and grab my attention. Some of the acting was a little wobbly, but I find that a lot with these type of shows; luckily, the leads were fantastic, and really managed to capture the characters in their own unique ways.
I also feel like despite being a supernatural-comedy-drama, the series managed to tackle serious topics. One part that really struck me was the video of Phob’s mother admitting her true feelings; I found it very powerful and raw, and just so 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵. Also, the way Phat and his mother’s relationship developed slowly over the course of the episodes felt so natural, and I applaud the writing for that.
One thing I am angry about is that no one warned me how devastated the finale would be. I don’t know why I went into this thinking a story about a ghost and a human falling in love would have a happy ending, but I genuinely thought Dream would work some witchcraft or something and find away to keep Phob around; however, I can also admit that that may be a cheap idea and not all love stories can run as smooth as that. However, whilst they got to be together in the afterlife, the fact that Phat had to live a life and try and move on without Phob broke me. (When Phob came to take him away when it was his time, my poor dear brother received a bunch of voice notes of me sobbing my heart out, so that’s gonna be fun to live down.)
I do feel there were quite a few loose ends left over. Like, there was never anything resolved with Dream’s daddy issues; I genuinely thought something important would happen with the books she was left, or that something more would come of it, but there was nothing. Then there’s Luck’s whole thing with his parents and UFOs; we didn’t get an ending to that. Like, the bright lights he kept seeing, what was that all about? Was he just imagining it?
I’m glad I gave this show a watch. I really fell in love with the cast and despite how devastated I am by the ending, it was worth it, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Please don't watch the cut version in YouTube
I was holding on this series for long but I finally finished it and I'd like to express how I feel about the seriesFirst of all it's definitely not perfect. For some reason the show feels slow and if u watch the cut version in YouTube you are doomed coz u don't understand anything. So i recommend go to some pirated site where u will get uncut version of this.
The show is simple. Each character were given some kind of story and their redemption which I really like about this show. Most shows just don't pay attention to side characters much but here every side character had their own personality and story and later redemption which is something new in BL series...... As I said the show is slow but what saves it is the actors. All of them including side actors. The 2 male leads were very sweet and I got to see the range of acting Nut (the actor playing Phob) has to offer. His first series Oxygen his acting was kinda plain but then again I read the novel and the character was like that also maybe the team was not gud with direction. Nonetheless here he showed exceptional performance. He conveyed every emotion beautifully. The other actors did a great job as well. The show also addressed few issues like abandonment, trust and communication issues in relationship, obsession, deceiving and more. Ofcourse these issues weren't in the limelight they were more subtle and solved but yeah it's there if u pay attention.
I tried not to get spoilers so the ending was kinda nice. They didn't sugarcoat it. It was kinda bittersweet and I loved that
Finally, I won't deny that the show feels pretty slow and boring at times but it's the characters that kept me glued in and the acting was superb. The concept of ghost meet human is not too common and there is nothing out of the box here either but the acting and the ending really made the show. Ofcourse there might be some who don't agree to this and that's fine people have different tastes. For you all I can say is try it yourself. I'll be looking forward to more roles from Nut now

This series has the vibe of He's coming to me the series. So it's all about a ghost meeting a guy that will help him find the truth about his past within 49 days and soon they will also unlock something they are not aware of. So first I really want to commend NUT for his acting in this series because in his past series he wasn't able to show his potential because of his character. The chemistry between NUT and PLAN was strong and can be seen even in the first episode. I also love the story because it shows a lot of lessons and realizations in life. The only thing I wish or hope for is the setting, I just wished that they have more settings because throughout the series the common setting is houses, well I know that the house is part of the mystery or it has a special story but I wish that they promote or shown more places.
It didn't end as everyone wanted which is a happy ending or they live happily ever after, but for me, this series is worth watching.
*GREEN's acting is also astonishing, I love his scene with NUT, their acting and emotion are so lit.
