Okay.. So first of all... Mii Mii COUPLE!!! *shameless fujoshi screams*
Except they're technically supposed to be friends here ? and Jimmy's Korean is clumsily adorable, I wanna pet him and keep him in my pocket if he wasn't so tall. I mean I can pocket Tommy definitely, but I swear... As much as he's dashing in that slick back and thin-rimmed glasses, he looks really small in that suit (but still adorable in my hearteu~)

Second... Jaehyun's so adorable, I don't even mind him getting in between my miimii couple(Tommy-Jimmy) In fact, get me the papers and I'm adopting this adorable bean as my 57th korean son

Thirdly, (thirdly? Is that even a word? ?) *ssh! Focus!* when they said "first Thai-Korean BL collaboration" the fujoshis have waited aggressively for about two years ? and I must say they didn't disappoint.
Take Thai BL romance charms plus Korean filmography techniques
*slow clap* now THAT'S some quality Korean BL!

Fourth, it's amazing how this entire casting and the fact that characters go back and forth from Korean and Thai to cater to the actors/actresses' comfort in throwing lines, is surprisingly not awkward. Most of the times, language barrier makes it hard for actors to throw lines at each other with ease even though it's scripted.
It's a real challenge to summon emotions when you can't understand each other, so I am impressed how they made it seem so natural to be acting while speaking in entirely different languages and actually have an emotional connection.

(p.s. I made this review ages ago but accidentally saved it on the comments–I think I'm stupid–so this review probably isn't so helpful anymore 😅

Loved the Thai and korean mix but...

Personally I love korean Bl stories lots more than thai. I wish they could mix the styles and I feel like in this drama they did. What I love about thai ones is the fact that there's usually more intimacy between characters, more kisses etc... I'm getting sa bit tired sometimes of korean shows being too modest.

About thai drama usually I dont like that they put so many parts with secondary characters.

This shows was very good but I honestly did not like the end. I dont like sad endings sand not even much the fact he could see ghosts cause was a bit irrealistic. Overall I've enjoyed it

A beautiful mix of sweet and bitter

I admire movies and series that deal with grief in a healing way. Peach of Time made me relive some emotions I might not have wanted to feel, but that only speaks to its' quality. It's not trying to be sad for the sake of sadness, it gives hope and closure. There were times I found myself getting close to tears, but then the scene would change and I found myself relaxing - there was a perfect balance in that regard. The aspect of mending relationships also resonated deeply with me. I empathized with all the characters - a rarity for me - and their relationships. I can't bring myself to go into detail or make a structured review, I just want to say that if you lost someone, this series might make you relive it, but it will also feel like a warm hug and heal you in some regard. All the actors are great, Choi Jaehyun is an absolute gem. I don't know if I'll rewatch this series, but I recommend it with all my heart.

A realistic plot that make u cry and laugh!!

Oh bro it's a must watch series. Let me tell you something that Korean bl series never disappoints you. They are never same or with same story or same plot, but very different plots are covered bt Korean BLS. Not only Korean BLS are getting more interesting many are, but I really appreciate Korean BLS. They never show too much intense scene. It's sweet and make you understand those lovely and sweet and cute moments.
Now coming onto points.
It's been a year I have watched any series, so I wanted to start with something fresh , new, and AMAZING. And this series didn't let my expectations down.
Very realistic plot. It's been a while I cried watching any bl series. All were sweet things around like.
I strongly recommend you if :-
You like Korean BLS.
You want something new.
You are okay with only one kiss scene and more cutee and lovely scenes.
Also it's been a while I have written review, coz like all I too don't write reviews on all the series I watch.
So go ahead

It’s heartbreaking storyline, prepare to cry a lot

This is my honest review on this BL drama.

I can’t do sad storylines/endings but the cast was just so perfect I couldn’t drop it either so I was contemplating if I should watch the 2nd episode and continue to torture my heart, well after some thoughts I decided I will give it a try with slight hope of getting a happy ending (even tho I knew that’s just my own fantasy).

Well as expected ever since episode 2 I was in constant tears, my heart was aching and I regretted continuing it because I already knew how it’s gonna end. I couldn’t even enjoy some of the sweet moments because I kept thinking of the ending. I am a crybaby when it comes to sadness.

Some would say it’s not particularly sad neither happy ending but my honest opinion is this is very much SAD ending. I would only recommend this to people whose heart can take it.

I haven't cried this much since UWMA

“Peach of Time” is as much a kdrama as it is a BL; in fact I suggest it is unique in being a hybrid and a very good one at that. It owes much to first-class performances from two of its leads.

A ghost story might seem an unusual choice for the first Thai-Korean BL production to reach our screens; even more so as the story is not treated as a comedy. Had it done so, BL fans might have been as forgiving and accepting as they were with other ghost BLs such as “Something in my room” (2022), “He’s Coming to Me” (2019), “HiStory 1: My Hero” (2017), “So Much In Love” (2020). Dark subject matter, on the other hand, can generate negative reactions from fans who prefer their BL series to have happy endings.

The bad reviews of “Peach of Time” make me think there must be a lot of BL fans who have studied and read “Basic Behavioural Elements of Ghosts” or who have done courses on “Profiles & Studies of the Psychology of Ghosts in Human Interaction” (School of SE Asian Cultural Studies, 2020-2022). (I’m kidding - there are no such books or courses. But you get my meaning I hope.)

“Peach of Time” is not concerned with ghosts, and neither, I believe, need be the audience. Well, not actual ghosts (if you pardon the oxymoron). The ghost element is both a metaphor and a dramatic device; and the ghosts that feature large in “Peach of Time” are, as Mario describes them in Ep.3, the “ghosts” of resentment, or sadness, the emotional issues in our lives that we don’t address and leave unresolved, between ourselves and those we love, and that linger, like ghosts that hover and surround our lives. Hence, the series' main focus is in its title: time, and whether we make the most of it.

The drama plays out amidst a group of characters whose time together has ended prematurely by an unforeseen event. Each of the main protagonists, Jimmy Karn Kritsanaphan as Peach, Choi Jae Hyun as Yoon Oh (the two nascent lovers), and Jung Ae Yun as Dr Moon, Yoon Oh’s mother, react differently to the shock & suddenness of tragedy. How and whether they each come to terms with this is the real determinant of whether this series can be said to have a happy ending or not.

Cultural differences and similarities feature large in the drama. Peach is Thai and on this, his first trip to Korea, reacts at once with his traditional Thai view of parental regard to what he regards as Yoon Oh’s disrespect towards his mother; Jimmy plays these scenes with the diffidence and reserve familiar to all of us from so many Thai BL’s. Dr Moon, for her part, forgets her duty of care towards her one and only son; Jung Ae Yun gives expression to the high standards of achievement Korean parents expect of their children and the disappointment that her own success is not mirrored in her child. Yoon Oh anticipates his mother’s rejection of his expected repeat failure of the highly competitive Korean CSTAT exams. Choi Jae Hyun’s finely nuanced performance shimmers with the pressure and resentment young Koreans face today towards succeeding throughout their entire youth and early adult lives.

The background story of Yoon Oh’s mother, a practising cardiothoracic surgeon, who knowing the Thai language and has taught it to her son, helps explain Yoon Oh’s choice of Thailand for his holiday/runaway location, where he and Peach meet each other. Peach begins to study Korean to be able to speak with his friend as their relationship progresses. Those who quibble about the actors speaking in one language and being answered in another have, I would suggest, had no experience of how people in multicultural households communicate with each other. It was common, for instance, in my family and migrant community, for people to do the same as the characters in this show, and even to swap from one language to another mid-conversation, if not to do so even mid-sentence. Keep in mind that exchanging basic conversation, does not equate to being fluent; later we see Peach mix up the labels of the cakes in the cafe because he cannot read the Korean script correctly.

Being a kdrama, the plot carries with it a criminal-detective mystery component surrounding the event around which this story revolves. And added, also, is the story of a possible medical malpractice issue against Yoon Oh’s mother. There is a further subplot involving Tommy Sittichok Pueakpoolpol as Mario, a long lingering ghost at the resort owned by the Moon family. As is the way with kdrama, these concurrent plot lines simultaneously prolong the drama’s timelines while also - and this is a feature lacking in early low-budget Thai BLs - broaden the supporting world of characters beyond the immediate love interest leads.

The show loses its focus somewhat towards the end in striving to wrap up all its loose ends, but its conclusion rests in the safe hands of its principal leads, especially Choi Jae Hyun. At one point, Peach searches for the unhappy Yoon Oh; he realises Yoon Oh has voluntarily put himself inside his “naughty cupboard”, a relic of his upbringing, imposed or self-created we do not know. When Peach prises open the cupboard door, he observes that Yoon Oh has decorated the inside walls of the cupboard with photos of himself and his mother from happier childhood days. Peach’s face registers shock, but Choi Jae Hyun, without a word, through his eyes alone, speaks to us in this act of self-punishment, of his sadness and shame at what he perceives as his failure as a son.

Peach seems at first to be a slight character, as slight as his figure; but he is pivotal to the emotional journey of the main characters. Faced at first with learning about the tragic event which happened shortly before his arrival, he is confronted with having to make a decision for which he has no prior experience; but drawing on his own nature, his fondness for Yoon Oh and his Thai cultural background, he stays to do what he can to help Yoon Oh and his mother through their turmoil. Gradually, even Mario recognises in Peach an inner power towards love and reconciliation, which, to Mario’s surprise, aids him also.

Yeu Jeong Seob’s 5-year vigil for his daughter Eun Bin, in a coma, is another relationship under pressure and in distress.

The two investigative police detectives are also at odds with each other over the case; the senior officer feels for Dr Moon and the loss of her only child while the junior officer bristles at the investigation continuing and is content to wrap it up without further effort, even to the point of lying to his senior about obtaining critical video evidence. And at Dr Moon’s hospital, the administrator has been maintaining an approach solely to avoid a lawsuit against them by Yeu Jeong Seob, without any consideration for the father’s loss. Dr Moon, in turn, just as Peach has helped her, helps the grieving father by drawing a parallel between her reluctance to accept her son’s fate. This is a turning point in the Yoon Oh story; in their mutual grief, both parents recognise their mutual humanity. The father, in turn, reports to the police detectives a critical fact he had withheld.

Ignore the negative comments: “Peach of Time” is good and worth watching. But while it presents as a BL, it is more than that and what it sets out to do, it does very well. Audiences should approach it for what it is rather than what they hope it will be but isn’t.

Absolute Perfection! (MUST WATCH)

I don't understand why this series has low rating. This series is absolute perfection. I love everything about it. The plot, the twist, the actors and the music. I must say the series made my break into pieces but the storyline is very well-written. I love how it showed love have no language barrier. The combination between Thai and Korean language is fascinating. Although the language are different, the emotion was well-communicated. Not only that, the actors are very good at acting especially Choi Jae Hyun. His expression, body language and eyes really hold the emotion throughout the series. In addition, the friendship, the love between lovers and the love between mother and son left me with a touched heart. I kept watching it again and again. I just couldn't move on from it. This happened when the series is amazing and deeply engraved its meaning in my heart making me stuck to it for a month. If you need something beautiful that will touched your heart, PLEASE WATCH THIS.

Worth it after all…

I hesitated a lot to watch this, knowing that one of the characters was already dead. I feel that death doesn’t justify the relationship in the story in most cases, especially when it comes to BL’s, but it’s not the case here. Even though the romantic relationship started after his death, it somehow worked, and the fact they managed to share memories and brought closure for Yun Oh and his mother.
Overall this was well done, and felt more complete than other recent Korean BL’s (and other mini dramas) and better acted too. It didn’t feel like an intro drama for a bunch of newbie actors… only thing that bugged me was the dubbing of Yun Oh singing… can’t stand when people singing or playing an instrument can’t convey the emotion or the physicality of playing that instrument etc. but that’s just me nitpicking…

A somewhat underrated, rather beautiful show

I've currently binge-watched 3 dramas (and counting :?) over my one-week holiday and this has been my favourite.

I'm quite drawn by dramas with a sense of loss to them (is it a tendency towards emotional catharsis? emotional masochism? God knows) and indeed, this drama has quite a lot of that present, so if you're not the kind of person who likes to face a sense of loss or an awareness of the impermanence of love and life (something which plagues this drama) then maybe this is not the one for you.

There are, as other reviewers point out, some situations which practically do not make sense and anomalies which I overlooked. Without saying too much, it does appear that certain things are left unresolved or unclear in the plot, as question marks of sorts which may irk some of you. Yet also, there are a couple of unpredictable plot twists - something I liked about this series.

I particularly enjoyed seeing both Thai actors and Korean actors in this drama. As someone who has watched both Thai and Korean BLs it was really nice to see the two worlds, and languages combine. I believe the acting was reasonably good too, and although people often find side plots a nuisance, in my opinion they added value to the drama and made it feel more well-rounded.

There are better series than this out there. But this drama was touching, and that's why I recommend it.

Sad. Real Sad.

Unfortunately, after some tedious debating for weeks inside my head, I've decided to not continue on with Peach of Time. It's with a heavy heart that I say this, please believe me, but I can't continue on with this molasses-slow and uneventful BL. While I was first intrigued with this, mainly because of the very appealing synopsis, (and Jimmy of course) the further I got into it, the more tiresome I got. Peach of Time was full of potential but was sadly a letdown, one with beautiful cinematography and gorgeous actors, but sadly, that wasn't enough.

Let's Dive In.

Like I've already stated, production was probably the best thing to come out of POT. I loved the lighting, the fluttery feelings it gave me, the way it was so aesthetically pleasing that it left me with a calming bliss -- one of the many reasons why I tried my best to continue. Another great aspect was the wardrobes. While nothing jaw-dropping, I think they matched perfectly with the personalities of the characters (It was comforting to see Jimmy in a scarf, for sure). I give the production a huge pat on the back, I loved almost everything about it.

Where this series fell for me were on multiple occasions. Let's talk about the first one, the language barrier. I guess not necessarily a barrier since both of them were able to still understand each other, but the use of Jimmy and Tommy speaking Thai while the rest of them spoke Korean was aggravating. I feel like the creator had good intentions with this choice, but it comes off pretty irritating. If Peach understood Korean, then why didn't he just speak Korean? If Yoon Oh understood Thai, then why didn't he just speak Thai? It was something I raveled over as scenes went on rather than paying attention to the series itself. It would've been more beneficial had they all just spoken one central language (Korean would've made more sense, since it takes place in Korea, and every now in then Jimmy could speak Thai to himself or to Tommy's character).

Another aspect that was pretty dull was the chemistry between our two main leads. I wanted to bask in their romance so bad, but it just wasn't there -- and it never was. Jimmy played a very child-like cutie with aspirations to help Yoon Oh with his familial matters, but he felt so one-dimensional. While I love Jimmy, I don't think this was the best role for him. Some of the heartfelt moments were hard to contrive when Jimmy just has this silly aspect about himself that is hard to pass on as anger or sadness. I think Jaehyun was really good, I felt that he played his character with great strength, but again, he needed a counterpart that worked for him, and as much as I love Jimmy, like literally to death, I just don't think this character was the one he was destined to play. If anything, they should've just had this been entirely a Korean Series, or just an entirely Thai series. I see what they were trying to do, but it was poorly executed.

The last aspect might be my own doing, but I don't like (SPOLIER!) sad endings. While I never made it there, I was spoiled plenty of times. Even with that, I tried to get through it, but it's just too sorrowful. My heart was heavy for the mom, her grief for her son, and the way she wished she would've loved him more. My heart broke when Yoon Oh just sat and listen -- sometimes listening to his mom spew on why she didn't like him (very odd, but very sad). The accident, Peach's hurt, everyone just being somber and moppy -- it was too much for my kindle spirit to handle. I think this was also POT's stronger features, just unfortunately not one that I cared to watch.

Ratings:

Story: 5 - Again, I think the concept of this series was neat. However, there had to be something more intriguing that the creator could've done to make this watch more enjoyable. I'll give 3 stars for the storytelling of Yoon Oh's death and the mom's grief. The other two stars go towards my sympathy for the series cause I would feel bad if it was lower than a five.

Acting: 7.5 - I think Jaehyun did a fantastic job, but most of this score goes for the mom. Some amazing acting, some that I haven't seen in a while from a parental character. I'll take two and a half stars off cause I don't think Jimmy was the right fit for this role, but I'll add another star cause I thought Tommy was pretty funny. So 7.5.

Music: 5 - I don't remember an ounce of the music, so in my book that's a good thing. It means it wasn't too much or not enough. Good for them.

Rewatch Value: 1 - I always give rewatch values a one, so this one is no different, but I seriously don't think I would ever pick up this series again unless someone convinced me that it was going to get better.

I really tried hard on finishing this. Literally forcing myself to watch, one cause I love Jimmy, and two, because I actually liked the concept, but I realized that I might as well drop this if I was already on episode 6 and forcing myself to watch. I don't recommend this to anyone unless they like sappy and somber. Then maybe I would push them to watch this series for me and tell me what they think.

Sad Ending but a sweet story

This story was not what I had expected, and was shock to see that we were dealing a ghosts, although a sweet story but a sad and unclosed ending.

I feel like the show tried to portray the subjects of loss, regret, miscommunication/lack of communication. How some people can be so focused on their own feelings, they can’t see other people and the truth that is there. Also the mum was for me way harsh but it did teach you be careful what you say, cuz it could be the last words you say to your loved ones, kind words and love should always be your final thoughts and what is to be said, as well for your loved one to hear. No matter how hard a situation is or how difficult times can get, especially for a singly MOM (like myself), never ever make them feel like they are a problem, and find in this case the mom did play a really bad role model, not only was she harsh but her career seemed to have taken preference and not taking into accountably for what transpired for the girl father that ended up in the coma. Now onto the real victim, I do get the fact and understand that we as humans feel it is always necessary for us to blame others for something going wrong, and such is the case with this, the girls father was extremely wrong to kill an innocent person for his daughter sickness, and then try to justify it after the child slips away. I was shocked to see that it was him though.

For me personal this drama showed all kind of wrong doing that humans do and experience or go through. It didn't portray and positive outcome from. The drama itself was good the acting was good, the music was okay.

Overall: It was good watch and short to binge watch, but keep an open mind and see where do we fear and fail as humas.
