Watch the cute and skip the rest ... or don't watch at all
I picked this drama up because I saw that it's the screenwriter of "Lost Romance", which had a dense and smart narrative that is rare for romantic comedies. So I went into this one and found that it was the absolute opposite. The main couple here is cute, and the way it starts out makes you excited for them. Very early on there is a scene where he (a hairdresser) washes her hair and she closes her eyes and dreams about being caressed and tenderly kissed and that was such a beautiful scene. But in the end it all fizzles out by a ton of back and forth in a sea of the same tropes and the continued und mostly uninteresting drama in the female lead's company that seems to be the worst dating agency on earth. At some point you just start skipping and stop caring.
There are two other couples. An older one which I loved because dramas so rarely features older romances, and it was cute. But that was it. It was cute. It was not enough to carry this drama.
And then there is a gay couple. I enjoyed those two, the actors did a great job, but in the end it was the same old: "Homophobic womanizer turns gay for you" trope. I have seen that a million times 10 years ago, when I was very much into BL/yaoi. And I see we are still not able to call it bi or pan? "I like women, but I also like him." What a shame.
I feel like this pairing if explored beyond the trope could have helped carry those 18 episodes that the main couple could not fill. The potential was absolutely there but the execution wasn't, so all that is left is again: They were cute.
And now to the part that made me drop the drama instead of just skipping to the end. Warning: Spoiler ahead.
The female lead has an amazing best friend who is a confident, independant and carefree woman who loves partying and hooking up. At some point she has an affair with our womanizer turning gay. She becomes pregnant and decides to get an abbortion. And then the womanizer's boyfriend barges in, when she is already on the table and forcefully carries her out, because he wants a baby from the person he loves (a guy he's been with for like a week). Nope. Just nope. This crosses so many damn lines that I can't even.
That part did not have to be written this way. If you want to feature a modern family, you can have your characters talk to each other, find an arrangement they are all happy with, but a guy forcefully dragging a woman out of a clinic after she made a healthcare decision for herself because he wants a baby is not even close to romantic. And that is when I dropped the drama, because nothing that could come from this will ever give me a fuzzy feeling.
It's a shame, really. There are good things, the cute, the intimacy that would be unthinkable in a chinese drama, gay characters that are more than a goofy sidekick, but it is mostly ruined by a dragging storyline and problematic stuff like the above mentioned and the fat shaming I haven't even talked about. So yeah, watch for the cute and make good use of the fast forward button or skip this one all along.

So far
Just started this drama d so far its rather good! Rather slow but its gentle and characters are building nicely. Has many interesting discussions on romance, what nakes a good relationship, how its difficult for strong, successful women to find a partner.Am interested to see how this develops when FL ex comes back in the picture! So far tantilising glimpses into what their relationship was like and why/ how they broke up.
Finding age difference between Fl and ML a little too much as he really is young although very caring.

TBH STRAIGHT COUPLES ARE BORING....
I don't really care for the straight couple it's the same bit boring childhood friends reconnect and fall in a love story.I love the bl part of the show, it has humor and it's the best part of the story. But just watching the bl cut version makes you miss out on a lot so I watched the whole version and it's a genuinely good show. The characters have believable chemistry and you really get the feeling that they are in love. The best friend who gets pregnant is so supportive I love her.
The acting is really good, it feels grounded. The production is also great.

So happy with myself- finally was able to finish this series!
I started this series and was addicted to it that I was looking forward to watching it on a weekly basis, Then, COVID-19 cases stared to rise badly in Taiwan, causing the series to stop filming for a while (100 plus days). However, it came back, reducing it's series total from twenty to eighteen, which I believed had a small impact on how well this series could be wrapped up for some of the characters. But all in all, I enjoyed it and I know that this has gotta be the highest rating that I have ever given a series that I placed on-hold.Story-9/10
I am breaking this up into four parts, the MC, the MM couple, the secondary couple and the supporting actors.
The MC-7/10
Dude, like I was not really invested in them. I actually liked the Piggy Side stories as this gives us a look at them younger and how Wang Hsuan Yu and Yan Fei's relationship developed from them. But, in all honesty, I rather their interactions with the other characters in this series than when they are together. That's basically why I am giving them a 7, for their other interactions with other characters. And yes, this even include their exes.
The MM couple- 10/10
Hands down- they were the best thing in this whole series. Loved when they started off on the wrong foot. And loved when they got together in the end. I mean, we were even given a marriage proposal! Even though they had a lot to go through to get their happy ending (And I mean A LOT!). And while I feel hat some parts moved a bit too fast as well as we don't know how the relationship is now with Mark and his parents, I am still giving it a 10, as I love them so much.
The secondary couple-9/10
I was originally going to give this couple a 10. But then I saw the last episode and was left a wee bit disappointed. Yes, they got together and even got married, but the audience was only informed of their marriage through a picture in the last episode. And it's through here that I saw that time was really against them as I just know that if they had those extra two episodes, maybe we would have been able to see a weeding between these two cute people.
Secondary characters-9/10
While I may love most of the characters, they were a few who annoyed me and so for that reason I decided to go with a 9.
Overall my score is 8.75/10, so I am going to round it up and give this series a 9.
Acting/Cast-9/10
Because I actually like the majority of the actors acting, I am going to give it a 9. The main couple, when they were together, just really didn't do it for me and as such, I can't give it the full score.
Music-10/10
I give the music a 10 cause when I binge watched from episode 11 to 18 and I heard those songs, it felt like if I was watching the series every week instead of the long break that occurred during this series. They were truly enjoyable and I am going to miss it.
Rewatch Valu-8.5/10
I give this series an 8.5/10. As I have previously sated, I personally felt that by doing eighteen instead of the twenty episodes, it affected the proper wrap-up of this series for some of the supporting characters. And also, I am not that eager to watch the MC and their story anytime soon.
Overall-9/10
Overall I give this series a 9/10 and it is not for the MC but for the other characters that I was introduced to. Anyway, another series done!
